Don’t come here… I literally live like three minutes away when I got home my pulled pork was stone cold. They gave me some prepacked barbecue sauce from under the cashiers desk. I would have preferred the warm one from the serving area. My peach cobbler was cold. But my biscuit was soft and warm. The sides did not look appetizing at all. They look like they have been sitting out uncovered all day. I really hope I do not get sick.

Great food and the new staff is so friendly. Really enjoyed the chopped beef sandwich with yummy sauce. Will definitely be back for a great lunch.

Forget the bad reviews — THERESNEWMANAGEMENT! No more unfriendly staff, old beef that has been sitting out, or overheated sides. The new people know what the old people were doing, and they have FIXEDIT. Even the sauce tastes better than before. The beef was finger-lickin’ good, with the right rub on it. You should try this location… I would NOT steer you wrong. When you go there, say Hi to Jonathan, Jose, Roberto, and Bill El Maestros de la Barbacoa for me! They have turned this location around, and headed it on the righteous path to Barbecue Heaven.

DIRTYNASTYCHUNKSINTEA!!! I just contacted the person in charge of health violations to report this location and get the chunk of whatever it is tested for possible bacteria or mold! I found it at the bottom of my tea after drinking the whole thing ANDNO it’s not the usual tea flakes from tea bags you find and NO it isn’t meat from my meal as I ate something completely different. This is atrocious and I will now never eat out a fast food type restaurant again. The worse part is that my friend who had the same issue felt sick directly after eating and threw up and I too felt sick to my stomach before finding this thing! I’ll try and figure out how to upload a picture. Look I. Their photos if you can and I will update if I find out more info!

Ahhh Dickey’s…It’s like that girl/guy you had back in your single days of college. The one you don’t really take out in public or allow to meet friends and family. But you know that when you can’t manage to hook up with the«Lockharts» or «Off The Bone» chicks, Dickey’s is a sure thing. The quality and flavor won’t be the same as the big dogs and you might feel a little ashamed of yourself after your meal here. But it will scratch that BBQ itch you got if you find yourself in a bind. Oh and you get a free soft-serve ice cream cone, so they got that going for them.

Worst BBQ I have ever had. The food is pulled out of some fridge/vault storage system in the wall and its wrapped in plastic. Meat portions are small for the price. Ribs were cold and taste even worse than the frozen food ribs you can get at any grocery store. Sausage tasted very artificial, almost if I was eating a cotton ball mixed with Jalapeños. I couldn’t finish my meal and left very disappointed. The owners or corporate should go and eat the food unannounced one day and experience the mess that this place is. Will never visit this or any other Dickeys ever again. This location is way too close to so many restaurants that if you happen to stop by, you will never again make the same mistake. I was too embarrassed for the nice workers to ask for a refund, so I just left.

It was so disgusting ! Tasted like it was made a week ago. It was empty at lunch time. Should’ve been a red flag. Such a waste of money !

Very disappointed… Finally talked my girlfriend into getting BBQ(she hates it) and this trip ruined any luck of future BBQ trips :(the place was dead around 6 on a week night, not a soul in the building(or in any of the staff either I guess, they were all so rude)… The food looked like it had been sitting for HOURS and tasted the same… I remember eating Dickies growing up, and I guess my taste buds have been corrected by REALBBQ like Lockhart and Hard 8(maybe I can get the girl to try one of those with me)

Do not come to this location. Walked in the fold looked as if it had been sitting, not fresh at all. The man sliving our meet was the most unfriendly worked ever, I understand he may hate his job but he made our experience so exhausting. The manager who I’m only assuming was an older man who checked us out and was friendly. By over all the experience was not good. Our portions were smaller than usual and our food wasn’t hot. Will not come back here again.

Do NOT order online from here. Staff failed to read any orders and made everything the same. Also, I’m convinced they don’t even know their own menu. Four of us placed four separate orders online(and paid separately) noting each of our potatoes as a different type with specific toppings. Each potato only had meat, with the toppings on the side(and absolutely no sauce for us), yet listed online it automatically came with fried onion tanglers which we had to drive back for(and then were given onion rings.) Person working the counter was extremely rude when we returned to get the missing items. Horrible. Essentially, we did the staffs job for them, outlining exactly what we wanted, and they failed at putting it together. Next time we’ll drive a bit further and go to Spring Creek.

Been meaning to write a review on this place for a minute, I’ve had Dickey’s at other locations that were okay but this joint is not worthy of my patronage. We live in Addison and there are many options on Restaurant Rowe to choose from but we selected this very establishment one day. The customer service was HORRIBLE, actually it was non-existent and the food was mediocre. We made a mental note to never spend another dollar there again. However, I’m a forgiving person so about three months later, I decided to give this location one last shot. The guy at the counter didn’t bother to greet us, I asked him«How are you today?» He responded with a half smile and asked me if I knew what I wanted to order. I placed my order, he fixed the food and I paid him. I then said«Thank you» and the guy didn’t utter a word. My boyfriend grabbed the bag out of my hand and gave it back to the guy then he asked the man if he heard me say thank you. He nodded his head and my boyfriend said«Take your food, give us our money back, and get your manager up here.» The apparently overheard the commotion because he approached us and asked if he could assist. My boyfriend informed him of the two instances in which we’ve been into that particular Dickey’s and were treated as though we were a nuisance. The manager listened and said he’d take care of it. We left that place knowing that nothing would ever be done but we also knew that we’d never eat there again!

I want to tell you how bad our experience was last night at the Dickey’s in Addison. I ordered the chicken breast which the guy took out of a plastic bag under the counter to cut up. When I ate it the chicken tasted strange like it was stale or something. My friend had the corn which he said tasted like it had been sitting in water forever because it had no flavor. I would say the exact same thing about the beans I had. There was no one else in the restaurant so I am guessing that there isn’t enough traffic to keep the food fresh. But, I would have rather had a closed Dickey’s than a lot of bad food.

I have enjoyed Dickey’s at other location. This location has stopped trying. Chopped brisket, dry and flavorless. Pulled pork, the same. I don’t even know how you dry out pulled pork. And that gets to my point. This place sucks so bad that you almost have to purposefully try to do it. The service is begrudging and glib. Never to return.

To me, Dickey’s almost always winds up in the«A-Ok» category. It’s decent BBQ, but by no means the best. Whenever it gets warm outside, I tend to always want to eat two things: Fajitas(on a patio, of course) and barbecue. Dickey’s is the closest option, so when I’m wanting the BBQ without having to drive too far, I usually wind up here. The price is about average, the quality is usually pretty consistent(but not awesome BBQ), and the service is usually good. When I walked in today, it was HOT in there. My car thermostat said it was about 92 degrees outside. It had to have been at least 80 – 85 in Dickey’s. Thank god I didn’t have to wait too long, or I would’ve passed out. Hah. I got quite a bit of food because I usually keep leftovers from BBQ in the fridge and eat it the next day, too. That’s a pretty good test for barbecue, in my experience. I got a sliced brisket sandwich, ¼ lb ham, fried okra, and some of the baked potato casserole thing. The sliced brisket sandwich was alright, but not awesome. The beef wasn’t overly dry, the bread was fresh. Thankfully, whenever you get your food to go, they put the sauce on the side. Hoorray! The ham was my favorite part of the meal. It had a good flavor, wasn’t dry, cut easily with a fork. Dipped each bite in a tiny bit of sauce for extra flavor and it was awesome. Might just get ham next time. It doesn’t quite compare to the long-gone Solly’s BBQ(that used to be down the street on Beltline where Pei Wei currently is), but it’s pretty good. The okra is good at this location as it’s always super fresh. I watch them put just enough in the fryer for my order. Can’t beat it. But since they wrap it up in a paper bag for serving, it can be soggy when it gets home since all the heat and moisture get trapped. Still good though. The baked potato casserole thing wasn’t that great this time. It’s basically baked potatoes, mashed up, with cheese and stuff mixed in. All the typical baked tater toppings smushed in there. It was okay… but it’s been better. Next time, I’ll probably get beans. I had one of their big yellow cups with me to refill, so yay for cutting down on waste. Not exactly sure how much they charged me for a refill, but that’s cool. Reuse, Recycle, etc. Overall, Dickey’s is a pretty solid BBQ place, but is by no means my favorite. Some sides are hit or miss, but their sauce is decent(not too tangy, not too hot) and the BBQ is consistent.

I am usually able to temper my expectations somewhat upon entry into a chain barbecue restaurant. I cannot, however, stoop to this level any more. I usually visit this location once about every 6 months when any other options sound unappealing. I have never had good brisket there, but I usually really like the whipped, mustardy, orginal potato salad. My latest visit was on a Monday, which happens to be the brisket and sausage special day. I figured why not. The special also came with two sides and a roll. I can only describe the brisket as chewy and watery, suggesting that someone decided that it was dry and thought that boiling it would fix the problem. Worst ever. The sausage was kind of OK, I guess. I was looking forward to the potato salad, though, and it tasted this time like it was the same batch that might have been served the week before. I can’t really explain it, but it was just bad. My other side I chose was coleslaw, which obviously had come straight out of a package. No bueno. Surely, the roll will be OK. Wrong again. This roll had the texture of bread that comes out of a microwave. I’m sorry Dickey’s, but I won’t be back.

In Texas for business and hoping for some good BBQ. Was very disappointed with the quality of the meats. Only reason I gave 2 stars is that the sides and service were OK.

I am sure if Willie Nelson was to stop by this joint he would break into a sad rendition of «Turn Out the Lights, the party is over». What happened to Dickey’s? I hear it is just this location but why does a Lite Plate of Turkey Breast that use to be $ 6.95 now have to cost $ 10.95? Hey guys, you are going the wrong direction to bring in customers. it can’t cost that much for a Turkey Lite plate. There are WAY too many other places on Addison’s restaurant row to choose from and with this location being the last food joint before entering no-man’s land of Carrollton, it is a total shame. I see that this location may close.again.

This location is OPEN again! Dickeys is similar in format to Spring Creek BBQ. You basically stand in line, order your meat selection, and serve yourself whatever side(s) you want. There is a self-serve ice cream machine, soda machine, and condiments bar as well. Prices are typical for BBQ(about $ 10 — $ 12 a plate). They do offer some sandwich combos(sandwich, side, and drink) that are under $ 10. Meats include brisket, chicken, ribs, turkey, and sausage. Sides include baked beans, fries(upon request), potato casserole, potato salad, green beans, mac & cheese, etc…

Well, strange things do happen. This place has reopened. The server today told me that there were lease negotiation issues and the landlord locked the owners out. They have since successfully renegotiated the lease and are now OPEN… again. Saw the blinking«open» sign last night, so scurried over there for my usual(to-go) veggie lunch. Yum, I just crave their«original» potato salad, an unusual creation sorta like a combo of mashed potatoes and chunky potato salad, very creamy and full of flavor. Also, just love their fresh Italian cut green beans, seasoned perfectly with onions and a taste of bacon. A big plate of these two make for a great meal !!! Soooo happy to have them back in the ‘hood, and will notify Unilocal HQ to «reopen» this little spot in Addison.
