I’ve actually been to this TC location many, many times. But it’s high time I admit to myself that it’s never going to get better and to stop spending my money here. I’m certain the problem lies squarely on management or owner(if this is a franchised location). Like many other reviewers, I have gotten incorrect orders too many times over the last year or two. Recently it’s been a bit better, but there are other reasons I’m deciding to no longer come here. Why is the concept of a salsa bar so hard for this place to figure out? Why do you consistently have lemons but no limes? Who squeezes lemons on tex-mex? If there are people who do, they have to be the exception. If the items at the salsa bar are made fresh daily, someone needs to learn some consistency. Sometimes the pico de gallo has a good amount of jalapeño in it; most times there is none at all. Pico needs fresh jalapeño, period. Sometimes the smoky salsa(I forget its name) is runny, sometimes unduly thick. I don’t really care which it is, but pick one. Until you guys become consistent with the basics, stop trying out new items on your customers. I almost always order the steak fajita taco combo. I love steak fajita tacos. I make fajitas at home from scratch and I’m told they’re better than any restaurant my guests have ever had them at. They beat the pants off TC fajitas without doubt. But they’ve always been decent at TC. So I order them and eat them and meh, they’re okay. Recently this TC decided to chop the steak up rather than provide them in strips, you know, like fajitas are. Well, this just sucks. Texture makes SO much difference in a dish. Any chef or person who cares about food will say the same. And, even wrapped in foil, by the time I get them back to my office desk(five minutes away) they’re cold. So, what the heck are you guys doing? An order of actual fajitas was served right before mine came out and they were sizzling strips just like one would expect. THAT’s what I want when I unwrap that foil. Sizzling(or at least hot) strips of fajita meat, not chunks and shreds of cold beef. In conclusion, adiós Taco Cabana. You could have been better, but… you’re not.

I placed an order through their app for breakfast pickup. I made a change in the comment section. A lady called me the next morning to advise of an up charge due to the change, which I expected but appreciated the call. However, upon arriving at the restaurant, I checked in to the curbside pickup. Waited 6 minutes before getting out of the car and going into restaurant. Noone at cashier station. They never knew I was out there. They really need to improve this system. The lady was very nonchalant-customer service could be better.

Broken knife blade/razor blade in my food!! I want to start this reviewew by saying that I enjoy taco cabana but this location is absolutely horrible. It’s got the worst service, the worst and most sloppily prepared food, employees with attitudes, it’s dirty, and I could go on and on but you get the point. The real reason I’m posting this review is because at the beginning of February 2016 I ordered one of their promotional chicken bacon fajita something bowls. Three bites into it, and I bit down on something rock hard that chipped my tooth causing injury only to find that I had bit down on what appears to be the broken end of a knife point(Pictures attached). I brought it to the managers attention, she apologized and then asked if I wanted her to make me another bowl! Think it’s safe to say I’d lost my appetite at this point and told her she needed to check her knives and I would rather just have a refund and requested the number for corporate. She refunded my money and gave me a corporate number. I called, reported the incident, and if I could deposit«I’m sorry», I’d be a millionaire but to this day I have yet for their insurance company to even give me a written assurance to pay for my out-of-pocket check out fee to assess the damage that was caused due to their negligence. They tell me that after an investigation that none of their knives are broken and none of the cutting equipment had broken blades yet they send me forms and ridiculous medical releases with confusing and ridiculous requests with language like«accident». I’m not sure why they’re assuming this was an accident, especially since the evidence would suggest it may have been intentional since according to them, none of their cutting equipment was broken. It could have been an accident but that’s the million-dollar question, how does a knife blade get into somebody’s food and why does it just coincidentally happen at the worst location of any taco cabana I’ve ever been to? I’m currently dealing with their insurance company and it’s a headache to say the least. I hope they do the right thing but my suggestion would be to avoid this location and if you do decide to eat here, beware, you may also find a razor blade in your food… fortunately I didn’t swallow it, but I’ve got a chipped tooth and some sensitivity there to remind me never to make that mistake by returning to that location. You would think after reporting that they would care enough to do something but actually what they do is ignore you and hope that you go away. That’s their corporate policy. You have to force them, nag them, call incessantly, record your conversations, and demand to speak with someone from corporate before anyone resembling a decision-maker will even contact you. They’ve got a wall of $ 10 in our employees that ‘don’t know nuffins’ that you must pierce before making any progress. I’m disgusted with their unconscionable behavior and lack of response. I want my tooth fixed at the very least. I will remove this review when taco cabana(fiesta restaurant group Inc.) and their insurance company,(Constitution state services LLC) pays for this gross negligence. Any news media folks out there reading this want a story? I’d be happy to oblige. I’ve got the blade, I’ve got the receipt, and I’ll make time for an interview. Reach out to me at

Drive past and decided to give it a try. The tacos are amazing. If your in the area I would definitely recommend eating here. Nachos con queso are also a good choice.

I have given them three chances and every time my order was wrong. Ordered large received small. Ordered nachos got home with no guacamole and sour cream. And it took too long. For the same price u can eat at chipotle and you will get better quality food. Personally I am fed up with chain restaurants. Bye bye taco cabana I am going to give my money to mom and pops places. I rather just go get a loaf of bread from Tom thumb then eat at taco cabana. I have nothing against the workers I am pretty sure it’s the managers and upper managers fault because every fast food chain is like this.

I’m not sure what happened here. It was a pretty good Taco Csbana. The last few times it has been dirty. I don’t think the salsa bar is chilling correctly. The salsa ranch was bad and when I told them they took it out. I did get onions and some fuego salsa. I was very si c k to my stomach later. Since the headquarters for both Taco Casa and Pollo Tropical are close to this area you’d standards would be higher. Another thing. Am I the only one who can’t understand the new menu. To top it off the staff at this location is lack luster. To top it off there was no one up front to take order and when she arrived she was unapologetic and got my order wrong or maybe I ordered wrong from the menu. I ordered a street taco combo that has been heavily advertised as tacos and a drink, but included chips and queso. Again the confusion of the menu. Seems like a lot of complaining but someone needs to be aware this place is falling apart and losing customers.

I’ve been looking for cheap tacos and this is the spot! Go with the street tacos(steak, onions and cilantro on soft corn tortillas) and sit on the patio and you won’t be disappointed!

Consistently leaving items off of orders, especially on drive through orders. It must be how they keep their profits high. Honestly, it happens 99 percent of the time! And the food isn’t very good. I have sworn never to go back to this place, but my child is a picky eater and he likes one item on the menu. Now even he has given up on this Taco Cabana.

Very expensive for a fast food taco spot. For a burrito and quesadilla… it came to almost $$ 13. We could have went to a real restaurant for this price. The burrito was filled up with rice and beans… and I only found about 4 pieces of chicken in it. A little disappointing.

Beans and rice were hot and delicious. Tortillas fresh and tasty. I always love the steak fajitas. Best experience I’ve had at a Taco Cabana ever!

Consistently wrong order. Make sure to not only check the number items you ordered, but also check that they know how to make those items. 90% of the time they will make something wrong.

Beef fajita nachos from the drive thru. Beef«very little», cheese sauce, and stale chips. I expected to have something better than what I opened when I got back to work. I would have been fine with some onions, cilantro, or pico, anything more than what I received. Never again will I go through the drive thru. I love the breakfast tacos though; I have to say something positive. Travis

It’s true, only my blitzed self goes here and she thinks it’s delicious for lack of better judgment. The Cabana Combo is the love of her life, taco + rice + beans + beef enchilada + tortillas that fatty! I tried it while clearheaded once at it was absolutely disgusting! I think the worst thing I had was their giant burrito, awful, cheap, and clearly bad for you! Also the hot sauce is a joke, pitiful. Why oh why do I even return then?! Oh yeah it’s open all of the time! This place will probably survive Armageddon.

Great late night place to grab a bite to eat and drink a couple beers. Not very good customer service and the food is not so good. I like the queso and ranch salsa.

Your average Mexi-fast food except they got booze and happy hours! Everyday from 4−7PM they have $ 1.50 Margaritas(Lime or Strawberry) and Beers. As well as -$ 1.50 all Nachos! Great place for some cheap drinks and food/snacks :)

Hmmm, where to begin? Guy at counter seemed mesmerized that we wanted a burrito with only black beans and cheese. Truly flummoxed by request for another burrito with just black beans and guac. At least the sampler didn’t knock him out. Then, 25 minutes later, food came out cold and wrong, as in not even close to what we ordered. By then we just gave up and ate what they brought. Not going back. Taco Bueno is just down the street and they seem to understand how to provide what the customer wants, when they want it.

Not a Taco Bell, not a restaurant. Variety of choices, cooked to order. Salsa bar. Need to try again …

This location is ABSOLUTELYTHEWORST! I long for the days of the original, non-chain TC in San Antonio. Back when the tortillas were hot, fresh, and perfectly made. Back when they stuffed your tacos full of cheese instead barely sprinkling it when cheese. Back in the day when the re-fried beans were fresh and didn’t come from a can(and taste like pure lard). I was so disappointed in this location. The tortillas looked like dried prunes. The salsa was very watery. The bacon was raw. The eggs were overcooked and had been sitting out for a long time. The beef fajitas were jerkly-like…
