Hot Rod Chassis & Cycle

Okay, let me first admit that I do not own my dream car which would be a 1964.5 Mustang Convertible in a nice cherry red, but if I decide someday to buy said dream car while it is a hulk of barely put together metal, then according to my bro this would be to the place to take it. My brother owns a 1951 Chevy, and I am sure I will never hear the end of this if I just got that wrong, that he bought off of ebay over a year ago, and that now needs more work on it than it began with because the frame got cracked in his move to Chicago. I digress. Lucky for him, he found Hot Rod Chassis and Cycle.
Now, you are probably wondering what the hell I know about this place, and why my bro isn’t doing a review. He is Randal S. on Unilocal and I am sure he will be (hint, hint, bro), but I feel like I can review this place because a) I have been there and b) I have met the owners. They had a open house party of sorts at their shop last Thursday that included a rockabilly band and lots of cool ass cars. Plus, free beer and hot dogs (I missed the dogs, but see my review on Portillo’s)
The owners Kevin (who isn’t hard on the eyes — yeah, my brother is going to kill me) and Chad are super nice. Though I may not have the greatest knowledge when it comes to cars, I know my fair share about mechanic’s shops (ask me how I got $ 3000 worth of work done on my old VW for free), and I have to say their shop is large and very orderly (they actually have a print out of what needs to be done to the vehicle and the intended end product taped to each vehicle). Also, the sheer number of vehicles they have there in the process of being rebuilt is a good indication that they may know what they are doing. I will leave the motorhead portion of the review to my bro, or if you want to ask them yourselves, I was told they sponsor the Hunnert Car Pile Up which happens every year in Morris, IL. This year it is on October 10, 2009.
