The sushi here is good. Had a anaconda roll, which was very good. A friend of mine that was not fn of sushi was impressed and liked it. Definitely coming back.

I have been here twice, and both times I had an enjoyable experience. The service was good, and the food was on point. This is a more traditional v. trendy style sushi place. I am going there again for lunch with coworkers. I recommend if you are looking for a laid back and peaceful environment. I had the sushi boat, and fried rice and edamame. All of it was good.

I think this is a great restaurant that really try to make sure their customers are well taken care of. On the two occasions I have gone, my experience has been wonderful. The first time, the sushi chef took time away from what he was doing to explain some of the finer points of making sushi and helped us try a few new rolls. The second time, they were out of a specific bottle of wine that we ordered so they gave us a bottle on the house. The food is a 3.5−4.0, but the service is a 6. I am sure someone who is really picky about sushi would not appreciate this restaurant as much, but I would suggest it to anyone for the service and good vibe. If you go on the weekdays you generally have a run of the place.

Despite all the negative Nancy’s that rated this restaurant my husband and I decided to give it a try. 3 different times. He had been craving sushi and they are in walking distance. The owners are real nice guys and always there. They always come out and talk with us. The food, all of it, is Very yummy. The service may be a little slow but you just have to be patient with the guy trying to learn the American ways. I will definitely be making more trips to this place.

BEST sushi ever people. Seriously, try this place out. It’s all good! Dragon Roll, kaboom roll, are my favorites. :) I eat here as often as possible!

DONOTORDERDELIVERYFROMHERE! I placed an order at 6:30 pm today and after several calls to and the delivery company Dining-in Dallas my food arrives at 9:15 pm, and was COLD when it got here. I sent it back and asked for a full refund. I wish I could say how the food was but after waiting over 2 hours I still don’t know.

I ordered the shrimp tempura and it was okay for $ 16. Very typical. You can get it elsewhere for cheaper. My mom ordered the nastiest ramen ever. The ramen tasted like they didn’t cook it well and it had a foul taste. Overall for the price and what we ordered… Never ever coming back! On top of everything, the service was slow and there were only two families in the restaurant.

Went on a rainy Friday night, so it was by no means exceptionally busy. Took 10 – 15 minutes for each roll to come out(we ordered 3 between the two of us). Nothing better than taking turns watching your dining companions eat since each roll came out one at a time. It was a horrible dining experience and we were pretty much ignored aside from a waiter assuring me my food was on its way as my friend munched on the last piece of his roll while I sat looking longingly at the sushi bar. Food was alright, but it was hard to enjoy when the service was just so downright horrible. Pricing was average to high, the pieces were rather small for the price. Not really any saving graces with regards to atmosphere or what have you. I’m going to have to write this one off as an average sushi place with below-average service.

Food is terrible here. Ramen is too salty, teriyaki salmon is overcooked, spring roll is overcooked. Service is fine. However it takes almost 40mins to get our food.

I love this place! I went here for lunch and they made the sushi right in front of me and it was so fresh. Clean and nice.

Had a good little lunch here today. Ordered off the lunch menu, so it wasn’t expensive. I ordered the sushimi lunch, which came with miso soup, steamed rice, and a variety of fish. The soup was typical, fish seemed like normal sushi I get elsewhere — no funky smell or texture of bad sushi. The rice wasn’t very soft for steamed rice, but it was good. I enjoyed my lunch and it filled me up! I saw the mushroom soup and it looked really good, so next time I will want to try that. The atmosphere was good. Service ok. Never got a refill on my water and it was empty for a while. Kept forgetting and making the empty glass sucking noise, so I don’t think the wait staff was paying attention. Just hanging out in the back room except to come out to us a few times.

Hmm. I am not sure where to start… But I know where it ends… With me not returning. Positives — service and the outside patio. Negatives. All else. We tried a boat and 2 extra specialty rolls. I have never had such chewy sushi before. Tuna was almost like frozen jello. Sauces seems to attempt to cover up unpleasantries that I am grateful not to have experienced directly. We had to change the palette and ordered a standard cheesecake slice. Surprised I didn’t chip a tooth attempting this frozen tundra of a dessert. We came on a groupon type coupon, so I feel so much better than I would have otherwise

I am a huge fan of their happy hour. That’s also the only time I’ve been here so my review will be solely based on my hh experienced. The prices during happy hour can hardly be beat elsewhere. The hh rolls and nigiri on the hh menu were half off normal price and they change occasionally so you do get to try the different kinds for a great price which is nothing to complain about. I had the spicy tuna roll, spicy salmon, jalapeño roll, tuna nigiri and salmon nigiri which I believe are all pictured along with a veggie roll which isn’t pictured. I was happy with everything I had. The seafood was fresh, the rolls were rolled tightly and there wasn’t an overpowering amount of rice. The jalapeño roll was good and not spicy at all which is expected from jalapeños. If you’re a fan of ginger and wasabi garnish then you will be extra satisfied because I believe they put extra amounts than I typically see plated for sushi dishes. The staff was very good. I was seated immediately upon arrival for happy hour and we were brought water promptly. I do appreciate waters brought out and then additional drink orders taken. Our food was brought out quickly and the waiter was good to check in while we ate that allowed us to keep ordering rolls and have a continual meal. I will be making this my frequent stop for happy hour sushi.

Honestly, most of sushi here only have average taste. But I highly recommend the Vegas Roll(it’s a special roll not in menu!!!) Restaurant is next to Addison circle, great location for taking a walk after dinner. Their waitress is very friendly and helpful. Maybe Kampai doesn’t have the greatest sushi in town, but it’s definitely a good place to hang out with couple friends.

This was our first time here and the food was great! The only reason for 3 stars is the service was slow, they need more than 1 or 2 waitstaff on a weekend evening. BUT, will definitely come back. Hopefully the slow service was a one time deal… the food was wonderful and the atmosphere too! One more thing… would have liked if it had a full bar. Go check them out… great neighborhood restaurant.

Great restaurant, 4 stars for the ridiculous pricing. This place is a trademark of Addison Circle. Best rolls for the un-initiated(and are sure fire«slam-dunks») are: Volcano roll, OMG roll(it’s «OMG»!), Addison roll, Firecracker roll and Kaboom roll, 4⁄5 are spicy. Half-priced Sushi on Monday is a must, but only applies to a limited and rather bland paper menu. Typical rolls are: Cucumber, avocado, crunchy tuna/salmon, tempura roll… 2 orders of veggie sushi + 2 orders of regular sushi + 2 bento boxes(Firecracker and Buddha) + 2 miso soups = ~$ 30 on a Monday night. Great value for two people!

I probably should wait until I see if my stomach reacts to this sushi before reviewing, but I think my review would be the same regardless. Co-Workers and I decided to eat here for lunch today. In the height of lunch rush in the area, we were the only table there. Took forever to get lunch menus. The place is dark and dreary. We placed our orders but drinks(water or iced tea) came out about 2 at a time… about 5 – 7 minutes apart — there was 6 of us total. And we never got offered refills. Sushi came out sporadically as well, and one gal at our table had her order wrong at least twice before before she just took what they gave her. It took so long for uncooked food(again only table there) that we were all starving. The waiter brought our food with his fingers touching our food after touching everything else in the restaurant. I ordered the spicy tuna and spicy salmon, and the fish looked odd. Like it was wet/mushy. It had no smell. So, I decided I was hungry enough to take a chance. It had ZERO flavor and the texture was oozy. This was also the case for another person at the table who ordered the same thing. It was like this fish has been frozen and defrosted about 10 times to where the texture was just mush and all flavor was gone. We didn’t finish our meal at all, and we are crossing our fingers that nothing bad will happen to us.

Two friends and I were walking around Addison Circle Park and decided to eat here for dinner. We were about 5 minutes early(before they opened) but they let us in anyways. The place is your usual sushi restaurant, darker and simple with a sushi bar. The wait staff was nice enough. Our server was on top of her game, filling up our waters though. As for the food? I got the salmon tower(one of my favorites at other places) and it was disappointingly tiny for $ 14. Also the salmon wasn’t that spectacular. The others seemed okay with their food but nothing blew us away. Plus we were still hungry after.
