We had a family member pass away suddenly in the Chicago area. She had lived in her home for 60 years and had accumulated lots of nice things. We live out of town and had a very limited time frame to remove the items from her home. I searched online for auction companies in the area and ran across this company. I called and spoke with Sue who was very helpful and explained how the process would go if we had things that could be auctioned. John rearranged his schedule to meet with us when we were in town and was quickly able to identify the items in the home that would be worth selling (I was actually very impressed with his knowledge of antiques, art, glassware, etc.). He had a team come over quickly and collect and pack everything for auction. He was very professional and was in constant communication with us during the entire process. We were very surprised by the sum that the items fetched at auction, and we received payment promptly. The commission rate was also very fair and John did his best to keep it as low as possible. I would highly recommend this company to anyone who is dealing with a similar situation and doesn’t know what to do. They really came to our rescue during a very bad time.

in order to bid on one of their items, as a first time bidder, you have to provide a letter of referral or copy of an invoice of a previous purchase on liveAuctioneers or your bid is declined. this is not sotheby’s. more importantly, if this is their policy then they should post it up front, my bid was accepted then the next day i received a notice that it was declined. i will find an auction gallery to buy from without such pretensions.

This is how an auction should be run. Merchandise well displayed and well described. Numerous methods of bidding. Timely auctioneering. Highly efficient. Very cool items in many categories. Haven’t been to a lot of auction houses, but this is the best thus far.

After interviewing several companies to handle a family estate liquidation John was selected to handle an estate sale followed by auction of the remaining items. He was always direct, helpful and conscientious from the planning, marketing, pricing, operation and cleanup of the estate sale through the timing, conduct, reporting and payment on the auction items. John enjoys his work and is good at it. I recommend him without reservation.

One word FANTASTIC. I have attended many auctions and have listened to many «calls» John has got to be the most clear and fair as they get. He makes sure that each bidder is welcomed into the process. AND at the end he even says «thank you» WOW, now that is something to feel good about. No buyer remorse here!

After many years of collecting antiques this was my first opportunity to attend a live auction and I had so much fun. First of all everyone on staff was very nice and professional. Second, they make you feel comfortable by offering refreshments and snacks and have very clean facilities. Third, they are reasonable with the buyers premiums. They also helped me get things to my car (I have a broken arm).
If you have the time to spare there are some great deals with some lots selling for as little as $ 5.00. Even some nice furniture sold for less than $ 20.00. This is a very well run business and a lot of fun for someone like me. Just an FYI it takes about 1 hour to go through 100 lots so if you are only coming to bid on 1 item you may not have to get there at the start.

Went to my first auction here yesterday and all I can say is what a blast!!! This place is top notch all around. From the moment I walked in and picked up my number I knew I was going to have a great time! Susan was super friendly and helpful explaining to me that I will see her or Katie to check out and that if I bought bigger items I had a week to pick them up. I also met another gentleman that gave me a little more insight on a couple of the furniture pieces I was interested in. I was soooooooo happy I ended up winning a Berkey and Gay dresser that I had my eye on!!! I was shocked when they said they would help me get it into my truck. All other auctions I have been to you move your own items. I cannot say it enough… this place is FANTASTIC!!! Can’t wait to see you all next month!!!
