Omg! Are you kidding. What?! 4 stars. I’m hysterical. This is the worse breakfast food I’ve ever eaten. ever. I’ve been there twice in the last 12 months thinking everything is worth a second chance. They can’t even make good toast. They put pancake mix in Their omelettes then then brag about it on their menu like its a good thing. It’s mealy and awful. Never have I ever pushed so much food around on my plate at a meal. Maybe it’s me. The place was packed. Good for all who patronize this place but I will not return.

First and last time at Millie’s. Don’t mind the old fashioned décor if the food n service is good. Problem is… neither was. Ordered steak breakfast with crispy hash browns and water. Waitress takes order gives to kitchen then sits down to eat. No water for me I guess. Flag down another waitress and she brings me water. Less then a minute later my 1⁄8 inch thick steak arrives with easily 50% of it fat n gristle. Steak knife issued would not cut it had to pull it apart with my fingers. My crispy hash browns were cold and soggy. My scrambled eggs were ok, if maybe a little greasy. Pretty weak effort all around. Maybe their pancakes are the best in the world, but I will never know. If the $ 11 steak breakfast is any indication, I’ll pass on everything. So long Millie’s, there are many better places to have breakfast in this area.

I only come here and order pancakes. To be honest I’m not a breakfast person and don’t eat pancakes but this place I make an exception. The pancakes literally melt in your mouth and it’s just full of flavor. Wish I knew what they put in pancake mix!

Charming diner-ish place in the suburbs of Chicago. The food is super fresh, and the prices are super low. The oatmeal pancakes are amazing.

My family and I visited Chicago, and near our hotel was a quaint little restaurant that we decided to give a shot. Driving past, you probably wouldn’t notice it right away because it is cozily tucked away. The parking lot wasn’t too big so we were lucky to find a spot. Score. Stepping in the restaurant, it immediately gave off this old school, comfy and nostalgic vibe that was strangely relaxing. Kind of like«Just chill, eat well, and stay a while». A nice lady seated us down and we didn’t have to wait long for menus and our desired beverages to come our way. Which is great because I’m an impatient person. There were so many delicious items on the menu, but I decided to stick with classic chocolate chip pancakes. The wait was about 20 minutes, but that was because a family member ordered something off the menu that took long to cook(the waitress warned us in advance). However, we didn’t mind much because there was a gift shop to occupy our time. There was a lot of random things like body wash, perfume and Christmas ornaments, but it was interesting to take a look and explore the place. I ended up buying little glass cherries that looked really cute but were only a dollar each. Random, but it would fit perfectly in our showcase. Anyway, when our food arrived, it was hot and it smelled delicious. We dug right in our food. The portions were a bit large for me but my family volunteered to have my leftovers. Which worked out just fine. It took a while to finish our plates, but man, was that a breakfast! I felt stuffed and all I wanted to do was curl into a ball and take a loooooong nap. You’ll understand the feeling after you’ve eaten there. Anyway, prices were decent, and we ended up leaving with smiles. Definitely ideal for brunch. I would recommend going there if you have an easy work day because you won’t really feel like working afterwords. You really want to sit down and take the time to enjoy the meal. Would go again!

I grew up in Addison and drove by Millie’s often, but never went there. Finally decided to try it out. We were a party of four for breakfast on a Saturday morning. We had no sooner sat down and the waitress was there taking our drink orders. Service was friendly and excellent. Between the four of us we sampled a few items and here are the reviews: –Banana Pecan Pancake — this was huge. It was one giant pancake folded over with about two bananas in the middle and a good amount of pecans sprinkled throughout it. The pancake was really good, the fruit was fresh. –Super Treat — Good but it could have used 3 eggs instead of two — the pancakes more than made up for it though. Cheese on top of the eggs added great flavor. –Potato Pancakes with applesauce and a side of sausage patty. Really tasty potato pancakes –Russian Blintzes — Excellent. Decent amount of cottage cheese inside the pancakes All the food was very good, the bill wasn’t bad and we are already talking about going back again. We would recommend this restaurant.

Millie’s is decorated just like your Grandmother’s kitchen and the food is just as sweet! We arrived shortly before 1pm with my husband and our 4 small daughters for a late brunch. The staff was super attentive and the coffee hit the spot. They had a special soup of the day which consisted of gnocchi and leeks. My husband enjoyed it so much, he took some to go! Of course, we had to try the pancakes which were tasty. Personally, I’m a French toast kind of girl, so I ordered some powdered ones which I quite enjoyed. Overall, the experience was great. If we lived in Illinois, we’d definitely frequent this cozy little breakfast spot again.

If you can get past the fact that this restaurant is in an overly crowded, past its prime strip mall and that most of the decorations, including the kitschy gift shoppe, look like they were last updated in 1983, you will find one of the best diners/pancake houses anywhere. The mix of German, Swedish and French pancakes/crepes is exceptional. As is the variety batters available — traditional buttermilk, oatmeal, etc. The German/Dutch pancake takes about 30 minutes so either pre-order or just be prepared to wait. It is the house special and worth every minute. If you are in the area, you have probably driven by a thousand times without a second glance as I have for the past 6 years that I have lived close by. I recommend you stop in and give it a try, you will be very pleasantly surprised. I was. Is it worth the trip from further afield — you bet. The place is not fancy, it is just really good.

This place is a gem. The pancakes are awesome and have different favors of syrup. They informed us that my husband’s meal might take longer to complete which was get to know up front. The servers were very friendly and I enjoyed the atmosphere.

I’ve been living close to Millie’s for about 20 plus years and never have dined there. It’s in a small strip mall on Lake St. I finally decided to make a stop on a Sunday around noon. I walked in and felt confused. A young waitress looked right at me and my fiancé yet said nothing. We stood there for about a minute until we realized we had to walk further in to be seated. Customer service is below standard. We were quickly seated and a nice lady took our order. Within a few minutes we had our food. The food makes up for the service. The menu is not complicated and has a good selection. Pancakes were fluffy and delicious. Would come again and hope that the initial service was a fluke.

We have a winner! I have been on a search for an awesome breakfast place… and Millie, you win. Immediately when you walk in, you feel like you walked into Grandma’s house. It is warm and inviting. Knick knacks everywhere(along with a cute gift shop), and just an old, homey feel. I could live here(maybe not, but at least eat here a lot). There isn’t anything overly special about their menu. They have a variety of different pancakes, waffles, make your own omelette, etc. We were having a hard time deciding what we wanted. We ended up sharing the potato pancakes, an omelette, and a short stack of buttermilk pancakes(and coffee). Everything was perfect. The pancakes were so good that they didn’t need syrup. They are fluffy and wonderful. The omelette has the pancake batter in it I believe, because it was also perfect and fluffy. Some places have dry omelettes. Not Millie. She knows how to do it. Not to mention, everything on the menu is so cheap! for how much food you get, and for how great it is, this is a steal. I couldn’t believe it. Our coffee and water cups were always full, food came out quickly, and anything we needed we got. Service was great. I want to go back. Tomorrow. Maybe every day. We’ll see. Either way, I feel at home here, and my tummy is full. What more can you ask for?

Best fluffiest pancake ever. I got the strawberry pancakes & they were yummy. My friends loved the eggs & crispy bacon though the French toast kind of tasted like pancakes. It was crowded but we only had to wait 15 minutes to be seated. They took our order pretty quick too though it took a while for us to get our food – maybe it felt like it took a while cause we were so hungry though. I’d recommend Millie’s & would come back again.

Millie’s Pancake Shop has a very rustic, traditional ambiance. The place itself is pretty small; only two dining rooms and a neighboring gift shop, but not small enough to hear other tables. The service is what you’d expect at any breakfast serving place, however given that we came here on a Sunday, I would say we weren’t starving not, waiting too long. The staff were nice too. I thought it was strange that there were a lot of flies in the place. It’s not exactly very appetizing to eat and have not just one, but several flies land on your table. Other than that, it’s a decent breakfast place to go if you want a more«country» theme rather than the typical diner.

THISWASOURFIRSTANDLASTVISITTOMILLIES!!! HORRIABLESERVESFORJUSTORDINARYTASTINGFOOD!!!(if you even receive fully cooked food) HORRIBLE experience!!! We ordered a German pancake a ½ hour before we ordered while we were still waiting for the rest of our party. Then 30mins after the rest of the party ordered they said that the pancake didn’t rise so they needed to cook another one which was annoying but what could we do. Then almost an hour later we still hadn’t see our waitress to refill our drinks or anything we asked another waitress to find ours. Finally we received our food and the German pancake wasn’t fully cooked and when we told the waitress she said«well we cooked it for 30min! What do u want me to do?» Then we asked to speak to a manager and she was even ruder then the waitress and didn’t offer to do anything for us. My dad asked for just a bagel, and cream cheese since we had to catch a movie and couldn’t wait another hour for another entrée. Brought us a burnt bagel and then we never saw a waitress again until she brought us the bill when she threw it on the table and mumbled«sorry for the trouble» while Walking away. Then we find they had the nerve to charge us for the burnt bagel that I could of gotten from DD!!! THISWASOURFIRSTANDLASTVISITTOMILLIES!!! Came here last for week for the first time, finally after hearing great reviews from the wifey. Place has a country feeling to it, not quite Cracker Barrel but almost. I had the«Super Duper Treat» which was 2 eggs, 3pancakes,(bacon, ham, or sausage), and hashbrowns. I substituted the pancakes for banana french toast, nothing special. Jus french toast with sliced bananas on top. Overrall the food was good but not great. Idk if I’ll b comin’ bak. BTW did not live up to the hype, Cracker Barrell still my fave & does not belong in same sentence. Sorry to lead u on :(

Seeing that this place is in a strip mall, I was surprised to walk in and have it look like it had been there for 30 years.(I have no idea how long they have been open.) The décor was charming and I immediately thought to myself that I would like this place. It was not clear whether I should seat myself or not. There were no signs of acknowledgment from staff that I had entered. My opinion started going down. Walking a little deeper into the restaurant there was a man by a cash register. Getting his attention was the key to getting a table. Once we were seated the service was better. Food order and served as expected. The menu was smaller than I have seen at other places, but I don’t need a million choices for breakfast. There were several kinds of syrup on the table, but this wasn’t necessarily a good thing. This meant that they were cold for one. The«flavors» all tasted artificial and so I stuck with plain old brown high fructose corn syrup. The pancakes were fluffy and delicious. That is why I am giving this place an A-OK even though I didn’t love it. Once it was time to leave we deduced that paying the bill was to be done back with the man at the cash register. This was not made obvious by the waitress, but I saw others doing it. They take credit cards, but there is absolutely no counter space for signing the receipt so they give it to you on a little clipboard. I didn’t like this either. So overall, Millie’s is a cute place, the food was good, the service was fair. I probably won’t be back because there are better places closer to my house.

I have about 3 places I like to dine for breakfast and this is one of them. This little pancake shop was just down the street from where I lived when I was a child, but we never went… I’ll have to take that up with my dad one of these days. ;) Moving on… We have been here about 4 or 5 times in the past few years and let me tell you that’s a lot for a lady that is not much for dining out for breakfast. I simply prefer to make breakfast at home, but millies is more than just a place for a meal… it’s a whole experience. The food is homemade and yummy. It’s not anything fancy, but just good ol’ food! It’s fresh and they will cook everything as you request it. For instance, I like my eggs well done, and I ask them to prepare mine well done every time and they do it perfectly! The sausage patty is seasoned well and has a unique flavor. Its actually about the size of a hamburger patty. The bacon is delish! The chocolate chip pancakes are fluffy and chocolaty. I typically order my omelet with hash browns and bacon or sausage and since I’m not a big fan of carbs at breakfast, I share my hash browns with my hubby and focus my energy on my yummy omelet. Did I mention that they have egg beaters for an upcharge? Always something I appreciate since I’m not a fan of regular eggs. It’s not the cheapest breakfast place but you get the cozy«eating at your grandma’s house» atmosphere and superior food! I’m kinda thinking we should head over there next weekend!

The place has a homie feel to it. They even have a little Millie shop kinda like cracker Barrel. Serving size of food is a lot unless you’re really hungry. Food pretty good. servers are nice. You don’t feel rushed. Locals come here often for breakfast. OJ no pulp, coffee standard. I had the banana pecan buckwheat pancakes and a side of corn-beef hash with a crust, not bad. Hubby got a sausage, mushroom, green pepper omelet. Light and fluffy. potato hash is eh, no flavor wanted more crispy not chewy. So if you want a laid back feel for breakfast come here.
