Stopped in on our way back from Atlanta, only decent place by the gas station. Ordered a feast got a chili dog, cheeseburger, hamburger and tons of fries. We all were starving so the food was hot and it all seemed pretty good!

Being from California, I am familiar with Carl’s Jr. I am not a fan of Carl’s, who is the parent company of Hardees. Upon walking in, Hardees looks much like Carl’s. I wasn’t expecting much. I was pleasantly surprised by Hardees. The quality of the food was much better than Carl’s. Not quite as high quality as Chick-fil-A, but up there. I had the big chicken sandwich and it was decent. A real whole piece of chicken. The fries were hot, fresh, and crisp on the outside while soft on the inside. They had a promotion where if you purchase a Big Chicken Sandwich combo you get a free Oreo ice cream sandwich. It was like taking a giant Oreo cookie, scooping out the cream, and replacing it with vanilla ice cream. We didn’t see a kids menu, so we ordered the kids small hamburgers and fries. It was more than enough food for them, and inexpensive. Both my hubby and I were disappointed that the Coke Zero both in the lobby and drive-up were out of syrup. No attempt was made to change the bags, we were just expected to drink something else. I don’t drink a lot of soda, I wanted the caffeine for the long drive. The one time I wanted it, it wasn’t available. If on the road, I would be willing to stop at a Hardees again.

What friendly people work here! I opened the door, walked toward the counter, and someone who was apparently on break greeted me. When I was ready to order, the counter person(the manager, I believe) took my order carefully and she was very friendly also.(I seem to remember being at Burger King in this town 4 years ago and had similar experiences there. It’s just a friendly town.) When I went to get my drink, the Mello Yello syrup was empty and the carbonated water didn’t taste all that good. Once she had finished with other orders, the counter person yelled at the back for someone to change the tank. By the time she delivered the food, she hadn’t heard any progress, so she yelled toward the back, and someone answered that it had been changed. She took my cup and fill it partway, rather than having me do it. That’s good service. I’d give five stars but for the empty tank and some dirty tables, but they certainly gave me a reason to return. Besides that, the food was good, though I’ve found it difficult to find a bad Hardee’s company store.
