I have been there three times since they opened, everytime was a 1 – 2 star experience. The first time was 9 pm on a Wednesday. We sat at the bar and ordered apps and drinks. It was dead, the calamari was rubbery and it took a half hour to get the bartender to cash us out. The second time was a year later, on a Saturday night. Granted, there was a band and it was busy. However, the steamers were horribly fishy and gritty and the raw oysters were disgusting. Couldn’t even eat any of it. The third time was this past Saturday, late afternoon(and only because we received a gift card for Xmas) and it wasnt busy, just a normal crowd. Four of us sat in bar area. We ordered drinks and actually saw them sitting on bar for 15 minutes before our waitress came back and asked if we needed anything. Just our drinks, miss. I will say that this time the food was decent, although we steered clear of the seafood. It also was only 5.55 each meal(they run lunch menu all day Saturday) The Turkey Pot pie was great. And the fried cheese. I honestly don’t think I will ever go back. The service is just horrible. I am a bartender/server and I feel like management needs to do a better job with scheduling and training the waitstaff.

We really enjoyed our visit to Kaptain Jimmys. We started off in the bar having drinks before we got seated. They have an extensive beer menu and the car tense was friendly and fast. Our server Fawn had a wonderful personality and was attentive to all our needs. We were very impressed by the oysters! Fresh, delicious, and perfectly shucked! Dinner was yummy and we brought home a couple desserts that were amazing!!! If we had to make one change it would be the smokers outside. There was a band the night we were there and there were a lot of smokers gathered outside very close to the door. So whether you were walking in or out you had to walk through this cloud of smoke. It was just gross after enjoying a great meal so recommendation would be a designated smoking area away from the door! Other than that food and service were great!!!

I booked a group for Sunday Brunch. They had a nice selection of food, but it was so crowded you could barely move around to get to the buffets. We go often for Saturday night $ 5 menu and dance band. My partner is a very picky eater but finds a lot on the menu that he likes. Great beer selections. Friendly staff.

Came with family to celebrate someone’s birthday. First impression-cheesy décor and ugly staff uniforms. The place is gigantic. I saw maybe half of the whole place. We were shown to our table and because there was 9 of us, we required a larger spot. But my curiosity was peaked when I noticed another large party seated right next to us. Literally 1 – 2 feet next to one end of our table was the back of that party’s chairs. For such a large restaurant, why couldn’t we be seated somewhere less cluttered or perhaps just not on top of another large party? Very curious. Our server appeared and immediately asked us for drink orders which would’ve been easy if we had menus to look at first. Wasn’t a big fan of our servers style personally. A little too scattered, a little too obnoxious. My entrée came with a salad which was nothing more than a handful of iceberg, 1 cherry tomato halved, 2 cucumber slices and a few carrot shreds. I ordered the cilantro lime dressing which was absolutely dreadful. Lacked any cilantro flavor what so ever. Flavor similar to chewing on a lawn. Pass. For my entrée I ordered the fishermans platter baked but with the calamari and clam strips fried. It was nice that I could have some items baked and others fried, I very much appreciated that. The platter overall was good, nothing exceptional or particularly memorable. It was your standard fisherman’s platter that came with a pound of fries. I did try my husbands angry pasta which I was a fan of and almost regretted not getting. Overall not a bad place but I certainly won’t become a regular.

This place has good service. It’s to bad that the food menu has been the same for sometime. The quality of the food has slacked off over the last year. My girlfriend and I had lunch there last week. We won’t be going back unless the menu changes.

A nice pirate theme brewery/restaurant with a wide variety of things from pasta to seafood with a Sunday breakfast. Weekly deals and a $ 5 lunch menu with a beverage purchase. They have a full bar with nightly live performances or some type of entertainment.

I was really disappointed. We ordered take out this weekend and I ordered the seared tuna… it was so over cooked that someone asked me if I ordered ribs. The flavor of the wasabi crust was good, but the tuna was rubbery and way over done. We requested rare… just seared on the outside. It was well done. Arrgh… bummer mateys!

We like to go to Kaptain Jimmy’s because of the good draft beer list. The beer is a little expensive, but you can get an okay meal that is very reasonably priced. And they feature OpaOpa beer. The problem is that lately the service at the bar tends to be slow, which is puzzling. Anyway, we will stop by from time to time, but unfortunately, KJ’s is no longer on our go-to list.

This place has been extremely hit or miss for my girlfriend and I. The first time we ventured in was on a Sunday, the female bartender was helpful, courteous, and cheerful. The second time we went I asked the bartender on a Saturday a blonde girl if I recall correctly, couldn’t be bothered with simple drink recommendations. I asked her for a few decent ones and asked her to surprise me with her favorite. Apparently that request was too much for her as she flatly refused and with that saucy I’m too good for you and this place attitude told me «she doesn’t do that» we promptly switched to a table finished the drinks and left to find another place to eat. On the third and final attempt we went yesterday(another Sunday) same bartender as the first time but we sat at a table and had an inattentive waitress. The food has always been above average American and the spirits they still are ok as well. The beer list is relatively extensive as they have one of the biggest bars I’ve seen outside of a major city. If the staff were as consistent as the one Sunday night bartender we would go all the time. As it stands with the typical snotty service we received twice now I doubt we will be back.

Five star service. Five star food. Enough said. We were a party of six. We were seated right away and was greeted by our waitress immediately. Food and drinks were outstanding. I got the all you can eat prime rib which was cooked perfectly. One part of eating out I hate is the time from when you finish eating, to paying and leaving. Not a problem here. Outstanding service all around.

Went there today for a late lunch. Sat in the bar area. My boyfriend had the opa opa October fest beer. He loved it! I had the pasta special with house martini. Pasta was good had Gorgonzola Alfredo Added chicken for 4 $ lucky if their was 3 pieces there(not worth it). He had grouper and it was fantastic!!! The fresh bread with the honey drizzled on top is awesome … The house martini was mediocre. He ordered desert. Was supposed to be a Carmel infused chocolate cake … It was not! Was good but for 8.95 I would pass. I ordered a capacinno. After 5 minutes server said they ran out. Hmmm it was still on the check … He did fix that after I noticed … Should be 3.5 stars … Food good. Service was slow … Would go back but not in a rush.

When it first opened, it was great. $ 5 burger deals, or $ 10 pasta dinners. Then, the burgers started getting cheaper, like the buns and beef. Also, the bread isn’t consistent either. It’s been going downhill. Great prices, but not quality food. Haven’t been there in about a year.

Fun atmosphere with decent food. The selling point to me was the wide selection of beer and the house vodka. Yup, they distill their own spirits. Will probably return next time I’m in the area.

I’ve been to see the Kaptain twice now — once for a breakfast buffet and once for late night drinks and food. I can say that, for the most part, I’m a fan of Kaptain Jimmy’s. The breakfast buffet was nothing out of this world, but it’s all-you-can-eat breakfast food, so Ron Swanson would be happy. As was I. The late night trip was more for the drinks than the food, which worked out because my friend and I definitely made a mistake with the food. We ordered the Pu Pu(sampler) platter, which we sort of assumed would be a small sampling of the listed appetizer items. Instead of being a small sampling, it seemed like the platter contained the full size amount of each of the items, which was WAY too much food for the two of us. I guess we know better for next time. What makes this review 4 stars is their pretty extensive beer menu and the fact that they make their own vodka and rum, both things that a place called Kaptain Jimmy’s has no business having but is definitely a plus. Add in the fact that the house DJ played Genuwine’s «Pony» to go along with good drinks, and we had a great night with the Kaptain!

This was the 3rd time I’ve been here and each time it seems to get worse. First time the burger I had was really good. Second time I got the same thing since it was so good the first time and this time it was dead. So over cooked. Someone else at our table got chicken mac n cheese and the chicken was still raw. So we didn’t return for quite some time. We decided to give it another try for Mother’s Day brunch. Big mistake. The service was bad and the food was even worse. Just getting a reservation was a nightmare. We called to make one and they said they needed to do some figuring and would call us back the next day with what they figured out. Well. They never called. We called them a couple days later to find that they never did anything with our reservation and had no intentions of calling us back. Fast forward to Mother’s Day… First we checked in and sat there for 15 minutes waiting to be seated and finally we went to see what was taking so long because they told us they just needed to wipe down the table. We soon find out they forgot about us. The table was ready all along. For the number of people in the restaurant there wasn’t nearly enough food and the selection was pathetic. There were 3 small round tables and a carving station. We went up to find most of the food trays mostly empty and once sitting down to eat, the food was cold. The roast beef and pork were good but everything else was underwhelming. Not to mention they kept running out of plates and they had lines of people looking around trying to find plates. The staff was running around frantic and unpleasant. After deciding we were done attempting to fight for scraps of food that were left we would move on to dessert. That was a joke. They had nothing out. When asking a server if they were bringing anymore out she shrugged and said she didn’t know. After about 10 minutes they put out a white cake and a chocolate cake. The slices were tiny and still frozen. Most of us chose skip that. The whole meal really was a joke. We have no plans of returning. I could understand if this was the first year they were open and this was their first attempt at a brunch, but it’s not. They’ve been around a few years now. We hoped to have a nice relaxing meal with family and instead we all couldn’t wait to leave.

You can’t miss the building it’s a stand alone with bar side and eat in side. First visit and was very pleased, we went for the Thursday all you can eat Prime Rib $ 12.99 special. Started off with oysters on half shell… Yummy…my honey had mozzarella balls with marinara… hand cut and fried, nice batter, not thick and greasy, sauce was good too. House salad was very fresh and cold, the clam chowder he had was good too, extra $ 1.00 for change of soup but in a large bowl, like a lunch portion not a side. Prime rib was very good, perfect medium and a nice size cut, vegetables and mashed potatoes perfect. It was busy, but our waitress Emily made sure we had everything we needed and was very attentive. We will go back, fish and chips will be my next adventure and maybe a specialty beer.

What Kaptain Jimmy’s lacks in quality, it makes up for in bizarre. It is like Pirates of the Caribbean, Denny’s and Hooters all mixed together. The servers are dressed up like sexy pirate at Halloween. You really just have to experience the place. Not usually the experience that I’m looking for, and I may not return, but I really enjoyed the truly unique experience. Thank you Kaptian Jimmy’s!

YArghhhhh… I feel dirty and used after dining here. Where to start? The restaurant is dirty. I sat in a bar booth. The bar was dead. But the bartender was too busy socialising to clean the filthy bar. Food and old drinks sat there our entire visit. Our waitress was great. Unfortunately her boyfriend(short bald with bandana headband and large Crystal earings) who is an employee kept groping her in front of us. When he saw the«Wtf» look on our face he slyly winked. That wasn’t his last interaction with us either, as the waitress spoke to us he would give us dirty looks. The place has many great beers on tap. And the house vodka is nice. The food is not expensive… but you get what you pay for. Better for a sloppy drunken meal. I may not recommend bringing a date. Key takeaways: staff runs rampant which means poor management. Great beer selection. Run of the mill chain food. I’ll return for a beer and hope her boyfriend has the night off.

Fantastic food. Angry pasta is the best combination of flavors you could want. I have a shellfish allergy and the chef was careful to make me my own sauce with attention to keeping all away from the shrimp. The prime rib is good, very tender and portions on all are huge. Service is fast, friendly and accurate. Love this place

I’ve had more than my share of Cobb Salads over the years. In some of them, the chicken plays a very minor supporting role –maybe a few sugar cube sized morsels. But not here, matey. Here the chicken stands out on the stage, in front of the band, under the bright splash of the spotlight. My Kobb Salad included the Dolly Parton of chicken breasts — it was more like a turkey breast in size. Check out the photo– it covered half of my plate and believe me, it was a big plate. The Kobb was a great value– not only was the quantity of chicken outstanding, but so was the quality– juicy and perfectly cooked. The lettuce, cherry tomato halves, blue cheese crumbles, bacon, and chipotle ranch dressing were all perfect. For $ 10.95 this was a pretty good value, considering half of it came home with me. Our lunch of a Kobb Salad, a Plain Jane burger with fries, and a soft drink ran around $ 25. The interior has a nautical theme– big wood timbers to suggest a boat and all sorts of maritime and pirate paintings on the walls. The female servers all wore fishnet stockings, and the meals were served by guys dressed in a pirate doo-rag like the guy in the Pittsburgh Pirate logo. Hali, our server was a delight and we chatted about their $ 5 breakfast buffet(with beverage purchase). Which sounds like something I have to try one day. Oh, and one more thing, I counted 78 beers on their menu!!! I also need to try a sampler flight too. I wonder if I can get the beers with breakfast? Kaptain Jimmys is a huge place divided into three sections. We ate in the restaurant half on the left, there is a small bar in the center, and a huge lounge/dining area on the right. We were here at 2:00 on a Saturday and there was a live band! They were playing Sweet Home Alabama. Room for improvement? Yeah, charging $ 2.95 for a Diet Pepsi is a greedy rip-off. And the hostess who seated us was silent, ignored our«Thank yous», and basically flung the menus on the table in a manner that didn’t even have them facing us. We had to spin them around to read them!
