Adobe Cantina

This is one of our haunts and has been for over 20 years. First, because of the seating; indoor or outdoor, its relaxed, beautiful atmosphere and that you feel like you’re in a resort town café south of the boarder. This family owned gem is unique. Formerly a ranch house, the cantina backs up against the Santa Monica mountains’ park lands, around the corner from Paramount Ranch. Second, their table salsa is fresh, crunchy and addictive! The menu is diverse and not pretentious; just REALLY GOOD. We’ve known their staff by first names and you are always treated like you matter. OH– don’t forget to try their tequila menu!

Bought a living social voucher for this place not knowing anything about it and got here and instantly fell I love with the patio. Best service from bus boy and waitress. Insane food !!

We literally stumbled in to the Adobe Cantina and were so glad we did! We were looking for a place to host an event related to our wedding next July, and fell in love with Adobe’s patio and vibe. Jose was accommodating with providing us with all the info we needed to plan/​envision our party there! We stayed for lunch and were pleased with the appetizers and tacos we tried. Our favorites were the fish tacos, taquitos, and carne asada. We can’t wait to go back in July!

Best Mexican restaurant ever! Our favorite watering hole every time we visit the Agoura Hills area. Great margaritas, excellent, authentic Mexican food. Staff are very friendly and attentive. We highly recommend the Adobe Cantina!

I came here with a group of seven on a Sunday night. The ambiance is great. There’s subtle music and dim lighting, perfect for everyone around the table to a part of the conversation.
The servers were attentive and friendly as well. But, most importantly my food was great! They give you the typical chips and salsa to start, I almost got full off of those alone, but ordered Chile Relleño which was perfectly cheesy and delicious. Everyone else’s food looked and smelled great as well. Will definitely be back.

Definitely willing to give this place another shot, but my first visit a very unhappy and itchy one.
Went out with some friends for dinner. We ate on the patio it was very cute, nice breeze, and spacious atmosphere. Was very inviting. Started our order with margaritas, they’re awesome, definitely taste like an awesome melted popcycle. My boyfriend got a White Russian deliciously blended, that would make a great gelato or icecream. I order the elsalada fajita also said no guac because I am severally allergic. Food arrived I glanced at it and only saw sourcream. Started eating and instantly got itchy, coughing, tongue swollen, and hives. My friend took her flashlight and in the corner under some of the food was guac. The waiter kinda was like, oh its just on side, I was like I am severally allergic, and did ask for no guac. He brought another dish, but it was to late I was so uncomfortable and tried the next plate that it just was making it so much worse. Kinda was a little frustrated that he said well its just on the side after telling him no guac because I am allergic. He apologized later at the end of the evening, but still. The margarita helped with hives and uncomfortable feeling, but I really didn’t get to enjoy my time here.
The indoor eating atmosphere is very spacious and the restrooms are very tidy and clean, unfortunately had to do cold towels from the restrooms for the hives.
I really hope next time I can enjoy the food. Maybe I can do tacos next round.

This is the most delightful and wonderful restaurant EVER. Jose and his staff are awesome and the food is super! Lobster Quesadilla with a tomato flour tortilla is just the best. Our family has dined here for a number of years (15+ years). Great place to have a party too (my hubby had my surprise b-​day party here as well). Enjoy!

Drove by this restaurant for 17 years and never went in until 2 years ago when a local business recommended it. Since then, it is the only Mexican food restaurant we eat at anymore.
We have tried almost everything on the menu and have loved everything. My husband swears they have the best margaritas on the planet. The pomegranate Mojitos are awesome, and when I have to watch my weight, I just order it virgin, which is equally just as good!
The flautas and empanadas are to die for and the tri tip platter and chicken tacos are my go-​to foods when I’m watching my weight.
Aside from the great food and atmosphere, the staff is amazing. Jose is our go to guy, but when he’s not there, the other staff members are just as dedicated and friendly. It’s like walking into a family. They truly love what they do and it shows. The service can’t be beat!

One of our favorite places updated and made over food and drinks are so yumilishious. We have celebrated many events here.

My family was visiting and wanted a good Mexican restaurant with nice views and we all had a great time. Parking lot was very small with valet parking and little self park. We all had margaritas and it was very good. There were 12 of us and our waiter made sure we were very comfortable. I had the salmon tacos which I thought was tasty. Overall a nice place.

I’m a fan of lovely patios that make every day feel like summer! The patio is a great atmosphere and perfect for anytime of day really. I also really enjoyed my shrimp tacos that were super fresh.
The only thing I am not a fan of is the prices. Our food was all great and very delicious but the portions did not match the cost. My hubs paid $ 15 for enchiladas that came with two (rather small) enchiladas and about a half cup rice and beans. I think the enchiladas should have been bigger for the price — He loved the meal but he ended up having to eat off of the rest of our plates to fill up. My parents shared a 2 person meal with an awesome variety of meats and veggies (all very good) — it was priced for two to share and yet still only came with 1 half cup rice and beans. We asked for more and the waitress did not tell us it was $ 3 extra. I was shocked when we got our receipt because 1) that should be disclosed and 2) they provided one person serving worth of sides for a two person meal… I get it, $ 3 a huge deal, but in general you expect a two person serving when you purchase a two person meal. Just sayin…
I will come back when we want a nice atmosphere but most likely during happy hour :)

Service slow, food was overly expensive and unfortunately not very good.
Enchilada, chili rellano, ribs, burrito… Nothing was good. At all. I did have some cold beer. That was about it. I won’t be back. Ever. Not when I can choose from a thousand places to get better food not to much further away.

I like this place. Lots of outdoor seating. Tons of umbrellas. Good help and the prices are so cheap for the quality of the food

Camarones in spicy tomato broth in a martini glass. Really good but could use a few more shrimp
Garlic shrimp scampi. Great
Lobster tacos. Yum
Vegetarian fajitas. Very tasty
All this for tax and tip with soft drinks of 60 dollars!

My lobster tacos consisted of flour tortilla (strike one), langostino lobster (strike 2), and iceberg lettuce (strike 3) dripping with some runny sauce. Didn’t taste good but I ate it so must not have been too bad right? Our server was really nice so 1 star for that. I’m certain I won’t be back, I really don’t get it because there is so much good Mexican food in SoCal and this place doesn’t even try to compete.

Excellent outdoor seating, nice ambience, friendly service, super margaritas (especially those topped with some Grand Marnier), and tasty Mexican food. I love the Lobster tacos and the Mahi Mahi tacos! In addition, they have very good salads.

This was my first time here and of course I was excited to see that they had prickly pear margaritas! (Which were great!)

My food was excellent and our server was great.
They close at 10 on the weekdays, and we actually were asked to leave at 9:40 as we were the last customers… That was my only issue for an otherwise pleasant evening!

Well I didn’t follow their advice. I ordered takeout and well. I was disappointed.
1^st problem — I was told 15 minutes for my food. I arrive to find that it WASN’T ready and the same guy who took my order said «I told you a half hour. right?»
2^nd problem — Service was meh, they were understaffed and i’m sure moving around like crazy. Unable to tend to customers. and there was only ONE cook.
3^rd problem — They messed up my order — There should have been NO olives in the nachos.
4^th problem — My co-​worker usually picks up from here, EVERY time she goes she comes back wit ha HUGE back of chips and salsa. I show up (Asian, not white like my co-​worker) and they don’t even give me UTENSILS. let alone the chips and salsa.
5^th problem — Lets just say the food didn’t go down so well.
I’m glad I changed my mind about leaving tip because it clearly wasn’t deserved. I was pretty pissed about getting profiled.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure the people who work here work very hard. I just won’t be back.
