I used their services for 2 years and their hosting worked ok. I didn’t experience any downtime. However, when the time came to renew my account, I decided not to renew as I didn’t need the website anymore. Greengeeks provides a link in their invoicing notification to cancel service, and I followed their instructions exactly to cancel before the renewal deadline. However, ‘cancelling’ service simply opens a trouble ticket with their billing department. I received this message in an email: Hello, I would like to extend a discounted offer of 50% off on your next month renewal invoice. Also, if you have any issues with the services, you can let me know and we will assign you one of our agents who will resolve any issues that you might be facing. Greg F. GreenGeeks Support Team Certainly this doesn’t state that ‘respond or you’ll be charged.’ Also, I stated as my reason for non-renewal that I didn’t need the site, not that it was too expensive. Well, when I didn’t respond ONEDAYLATER, they charged me the full amount for 2 years renewal, even though I already cancelled! They didn’t even charge me the 50% they’d been offering! They charged the full amount on a Sunday, and now it’s Monday and I’m spending my time trying to get a refund. I’m now working through a lawyer to resolve this, but long story short there are WAY too many other hosting services to mess around with a company this shady. Stay away!
