Wow. Jeremiah completely revived my 200 year old grandfather clock. He took longer than I expected but the clock was in terrible shape. He also fixed my antique mantel clock and it has run perfectly for the last six months. These clocks are antiques and not part of the rapid digital world we live in. It takes time and care to get them working. Jeremiah went way past what was called for to accomplish this. His prices were reasonable compared to others that I called. One clockmaker said it wasn’t worth fixing. I had an antiques appraiser call it a piece of junk. Jeremiah understood that these were part of my family history and had value way beyond mere dollars. I so appreciate his work.

Jeremiah with Labbee’s Clock Repair did an excellent job with our circa 1780 grandfather clock. He was very meticulous, with high attention to detail. Not only did he get the clock running, the mechanism was badly rusted and seized, and was missing parts, like the pendulum and the weights that he had to order from overseas, but he also did an intense refinishing job. The case to the clock was missing veneer trim and edges and moulding and feet, it had bad weather damage and was terribly discolored. He carefully, artfully, and respectfully restored the case without destroying the character of the clock. He delivered the clock and carefully installed it, attaching it to the wall to make it earthquake proof, answered all of my questions and left me with care instructions, and made sure the clock was in excellent working order, which took a decent amount of tweaking, mind you this is a sizable clock at 8 feet tall. I was disappointed to read some of the other reviews. Clock making is a dying art and trade, this is a family business that has been handed down 3 generations. Jeremiah is the grandson. He is the newest generation and is very knowledgeable. He fixed our other clock on the spot. At no point did I think this guy was a scammer. It appears as if this is a family man that is keeping his fathers and grandfathers business alive single handedly to the best of his ability. His prices are within reason, and he knows what he is doing. This isn’t a business that moves at the speed of email, these are grandfather clocks, these things take time and patience.

Would never recommend this guy. He is not honest nor does he have enough experience. He told me that he would come over to check out my clock for $ 150. He ‘cleaned’ the clock and asked for $ 200. Why did he raise the price after we agree on $ 150? Then 2 weeks later — it stopped chiming. He came over, picked up the clock to check out the problem. Called me and said it needed a new movement for $ 900, but he would subtract the $ 200 that I already paid. Since that was more than I wanted to pay, I searched for another repairman. Found Ed in Camarillo — highly recommend. He told me that the clock was not cleaned at all and was all gunked up. He did a thorough cleaning for a reasonable cost and the clock works fine. It never needed a new movement as Jeremiah suggested. Jeremiah at first did not respond to my calls either — said he had already spent too much of his time on my clock for not enough pay. This is a young guy who has a lot to learn about honesty and dealing with customers.

Recently I had been cleaning out our family storage and came across an old ships clock that had been my grandfathers. It hadn’t worked in years but was a prized possession of his so I contacted Labbee’s Clock Repair to see if there was any way to get it working again. Jeremiah was extremely helpful and said it would take a look at it and see what he could do. He understood how important this memento was to me and my family and took great care not only in fixing in but cleaning it up so that it looked better than ever! I don’t even think it worked this well when my grandfather had it! I am so happy to have this working in my house again and would definitely go back to Jeremiah for any other hidden treasures we may find! Thank you!

I contacted Jeremy at Labbee’s Clock Repair to make repairs to a Grandfather clock that was left to me by my parents. He did come out to my home and callabrated the clock and got it running. He was a very nice young man, and I was very happy with his service, however, about a month later, the clock stopped working, and I was unable to get it restarted. I contacted Jeremy and asked if it was possible for him to come back out to see what the problem may be. He did call and tried to walk me through getting it started again, however, nothing I tried seemed to work. I have called him several times since and have left voice mail messages, to see if he could come back to get it running. I realize that he is in business to make money, and was more than willing to pay for his service being that the clock has a sentimental value to me. The last message that I left, I asked that he please call me to let me know if he was just not interested in making the repairs, so that I could find another repair person. To date he has never bothered to call me back. I have since called a couple of other clock repairmen, and they both stated that they guarantee their work for one year.
