This location did not close! It is the same owner with a new partner. It is now called, «Tavern 101». Same food. They have added a beautiful outdoor seating area, and a cozy firepit for more relaxed and romatic dining. The best value on the menu can be found under appetizers. It is the pulled pork quesadilla. Smoky, tender bbq pork inside of a spinach tortilla with jack cheese and sour cream guacamole, and pico di gallo on the side. I like to add the hot and spicy bbq sauce. I cannot finish this quesadilla, and at only $ 10.00, I don’t mind. My absolute favorite item is the brisket. Melt in your mouth mmmmm! Only downside to this place? their sides leave a lot to be desired. They are not bad, but very mediocre at best. Especially the macaroni and cheese or beans Just okay.

I don’t know where they’re going with this place. I don’t think they do either. Hope they hold onto the BBQ :(

This place is really good! It was recommended by the front desk staff at the hotel I was staying at on my business trip. I thought about going to Wood Ranch but was way happier I came here!

Really like the atmosphere and the people were very friendly, I only wish the food was better. I had the brisket plate because the best way to judge a BBQ Smokehouse is by it’s brisket. Sadly it was not smoked properly, there was no smoke ring at all and it was severely overdone to the point of dry and tasteless. I couldn’t even finish the small portion I was given. To top it all off, they seem to be severely over priced. Maybe they do other dishes well but I was really disappointed in the brisket and am unlikely to return.

Oh my gosh the food here is so delicious! I love the atmosphere, the staff and the menu. The service is quick and friendly and they even remember our names every time we go. They have great salads, wraps, sandwiches and are accommodating to special requests. And if you’re into sports they have tons of big screens posted up all around the dining area with different games playing all the time. They can accommodate your group as well if you want to come in and catch a game with friends and stick around for awhile. Can’t say enough about cool this place is and how much I truly like it. I would definitely recommend Willy’s to anyone looking for a fun, casual atmosphere, great food and drinks and truly fantastic service.

One of the best bbq places I have been too. I use to eat more bbq, but the last 5 years I kinda lost interest until I found this place. Willy’s helped me fall in love with bbq again :) The bbq chicken salad was delicious(cucumber, corn, cheese, tortilla strips, lots of chicken, iceberg, ranch-bbq sauce) The bbq pulled pork sandwich was SO tender and flavorful swell. I really enjoyed the soft brioche roll it is served on. I loved all the sauces especially ‘turbo’ and ‘spicy’. Definitely one of the best bbq sauces I have ever tasted. YUM

Always looking for good BBQ in SF Valley, Conejo Valley and Ventura County and coming up disappointed most of the time. Had tried Willy’s before and wasn’t impressed but decided to give it another shot. Had the hot links appetizer and the potato skins appetizer, both unremarkable and expensive for the portion. Cornbread was exceptional but they gave us 4 one inch squares and never brought more. Baby back ribs were meaty and tasty and moist, although slightly tough. The brisket was some of the best we’ve had anywhere and reason to come back alone. The sides were OK, beans were good, cole slaw OK, mac n cheese pretty bland. Still beats anything else out there which isn’t saying much. They are about to change their name to Tavern 101 Bar & Grill specializing in small plates and bar food. Doesn’t sound promising at all. Too bad a decent BBQ place can’t make it in this neck of the woods.

Stopped by Willy’s to place a catering order because they have the best BBQ around! Got a look at all the upgrades as they transistion into Tavern 101. Place looks great! Lots of quality TV’s you can see from anywhere. Tried a sample of a new item, a Mexican Sushi Roll, Absolutely Killer!!! I’d order it every time! Great beer selection also. Can’t wait for Football season, going to be a great place to go!

I’ve been here twice & the first time I wasn’t really impressed with the taste/flavor of my meal. My hot links & tri tip were good, but it didn’t have a true BBQ flavor to it. With all the good reviews I saw I figured I must have come on a off day or people are overrating this place because the restaurant is really nice for a BBQ smoke house. I come again & try thr baby back ribs & brisket… Fantastic. For a combo plate you still get a decent size of your two choices. They have 4 different BBQ sauces to choose from, full nice clean bar on the inside, & a spacious outdoor patio. This spot is right down the street from the popular Wood Ranch BBQ. Granted this spot is a little big smaller than wood ranch I’d pick Willy’s over it every time.

Hidden Gem just doors away from Wood Ranch BBQ. I have never fully understood why people would eat at Wood Ranch when you have a great locally family owned authentic BBQ place down the street! They serve fantastic corn bread with every meal and they pour stiff drinks. Food is unquestionably authentic and some of it has a real kick to it. If your in the area and in the mood for some great BBQ head down to Willy’s.

I’ve lived down the street from Willy’s for years and FINALLY ate here tonight with my boyfriend. I love that this place is sorta off the beaten path for Agoura. I also like that the place is small and pretty quiet minus the hoards of babies that were in there tonight but I can’t imagine a rib place attracts hoards of tiny humans so it was just my lucky night. The wait staff in here is really good looking and I appreciate that. Usually I go to BBQ joints(whether here in California, or on the East Coast or in the South) and I’m greeted by retarded women or fat fuck men. This was not an issue here so that was nice. My boyfriend and I were seating quickly, served our drinks quickly, and served our food quickly. I think from sit down to entrée in my face the total wait time was 10 minutes, and that’s a stretch. I was honestly expecting sub-par BBQ but I’d have to say the BBQ here is significantly better than Wood Ranch or Famous Daves. It has a real Southern home-style feel to it. It’s not the best, and I think the sauces need a couple of tweaks, but nonetheless Willy’s is still better than the chains in the area. My baby backs were plump and really juicy and my boyfriend’s pulled pork was pretty good but did need a little more seasoning. My boyfriend and I both ordered sauteed veggies as our sides so I have no idea how their other sides are, but they were good. I like that they were clearly fresh and sliced by hand(lack of uniformity from a mandoline or from manufactured-frozen bags) and that was good to have. I’ll be back.

MEH-MEH-MEH First of all, I am a BBQ rib fanatic. The ribs were dry and the sauce was bland. Don’t let your sense of smell fool you; the rich, smoky aroma outside of the restaurant does not reflect the mehness of the food. Maybe you’ll pay a couple of dollars more but do yourself a favor and go down the street to Wood Ranch. Even better, Bandits in TO. Please email me if you find a great rib joint in the valley or nearby environs. Thanks.

I just thought this place was average. Their cornbread was dry the 2 times I’ve been, and even their BBQ chicken was a little on the dry side. I had their salmon the othe other time, and while that wasn’t dry, it didn’t have that much flavor. The BBQ sauce is a bit too smoky flavor for me, not enough on the sweetness. Plus, I don’t like the wait here… esp. for average food. It wasn’t bad, but it wasn’t great, either. I just wanted to like it more than I did.

I think everyone can agree that when it comes to french fries, McDonald’s has probably the best tasting fries. But I swear Willy’s is damn close. In fact I’m almost wondering if they secretly drive to the McD’s on Kanan upon order to get some fries for your food. But on to the real item to talk about. The BBQ. You want something that is smoked and always cooked right, Willy’s has got that covered. The Patio area on a nice day with a large beer and some of their corn bread, makes for a good afternoon, especially when you do that during the work week. It’s a quiet place that deserves a little more business. My Recommendation is the pulled pork sandwich or plate. I always ask for it southern style so you get the cool creamy taste of coleslaw with each bite of delicious pulled pork. Coupled with the 3 – 4 different BBQ sauces, and you’ve got the recipe for a good and affordable lunch.

Out in the wilds of the San Fernando Valley good barbecue is hard to find unless I am cooking in the backyard. the exception to this is Willy’s . I had them cater my 50th birthday party after having eaten some very yummy links, ribs, and pulled pork. Brisket was tasty as well. The sauces are addictive and the links were something special.

Great little bbq joint! Prices are cheap Service is acceptable Too close to freeway is the only downside Great little hole in the wall! Huge cajones of the owner to open down the street from successful Wood Ranch chain!
