If you’re wanting permanent make up… Josalyn is professional, she is pleasant & has a consultation with you. During the time of my eyebrow permanent procedure, it was next to painless. I met Josalyn almost two years ago. She had to retouch my eyebrows that was done less than a year ago by another artist. I was excited meeting with her so I took my daughter… We both ended having our eyebrows done! I had her retouch my eyeliner too, I was so pleased how she had done it, it’s how I wanted it done, really close to the corners. So almost two years had passed, we went again for a retouch… Still pleased with her work!!! She’s still as pleasant, as professional, as genuine as she could be. She has «the eye» to see what will look good on you, that’s how good she is. Josalyn, thank you so much… we still love our gorgeous eyes and brows! God bless… We shall see you again in two years!

Joselyn is fabulous. I just had my touch up done yesterday. I will never trust anyone else with a needle that close to my eye. She has a steady hand and a sweet personality. The studio is immaculately clean and the procedures are relatively painless.

After getting pregnant with my daughter, my eyebrows and eyelashes were never the same. A majority of them all fell out and I desperately needed some permanent makeup. I had eyeliner and eyebrow tattoo done about 6 years ago but it faded to an ashy gray color.
After a good 30 – 45 minute consultation and showing me colors, she drew it on my face to show me what the colors would look like. After we both agreed on the color and shape, she started her work.
Josalyn, the owner, suggested a more neutral, natural dark brown to soften the color. She first used an orange, yes ORANGE! color to neutralize the ashy gray, then applied a dark brown over it to give a nice polished look. Boy did I have a lot of faith in this little girl! I was glad I did. A tiny bit of ink can really fix the slightest imperfections. One of my eyebrows is naturally higher than the other, so she just added a bit more to the left eyebrow to make everything more symmetrical.
To my surprise, when she tattooed the eyebrows, I didn’t feel much discomfort at all! However, when she did my eyelashes, I felt like she was tickling them. It’s rather hard to sit there and just let someone tickle you while you hold still! On that note, Josalyn is probably the most comforting person on the island. If I’m going to allow anyone to tattoo my eye, it’s going to be this chick. She’s just a sweet, mommy figure who makes you feel right at home. Even if you’re nervous, her humor will keep you laughing the whole time.
Make sure to set aside enough time for your appointment. It took over two hours simply because Josalyn is such a perfectionist and likes to take her time when it comes to really finding out what it is you want. Actual tattoo time isn’t long but she sets aside sufficient time for anesthesia to work effectively. Plus, you need to count in girl talk… trust me there will be plenty. I can’t believe I’m saying this, but it’s actually fun to get a tattoo here!

Josalyn was GREAT! I instantly felt welcome as soon as I walked in. Her place is so nice & clean & she had this beautiful, relaxing music playing in the background. She first did a consultation with me (I had my previously tattooed eyebrows fixed) first & I did not feel pressured at all to do the procedure right after. Although I was sure I wanted to do it anyway! She talked me through the entire procedure from start to finish. it’s been almost 8 weeks I believe. My eyebrows healed great and I am happy although I will be back soon for a retouch and possibly to thicken.

Get your eyebrows done at Makeup For Keeps! Jocelyn is extremely skilled in this field. The results are amazing! During the procedure she kept me numb so there’s absolutely no pain, NONE. Ladies do know that Jocelyn will also include a «after care kit» to take home to help you during the healing process. The kit includes wipes, Vaseline, and Qtips. Sweet!!! She’s a great person!

By far today was just amazing.
A year ago I decided to get my eyebrows done so I decided to go to a place where I «thought» I would feel comfy n excited all in one. so not what happened Long story short my eyebrows turned for the worse but I worked with it until I couldn’t do it any longer. As I searched for a NEW makeup technician I came across Makeup for Keeps n I instantly fell in love!!! Joselyn was by far the most beautiful straight forward women I met. She broke it down to me where I was amazed by her professional skills. I got my eyebrows done AGAIN n I can truly say I am SATISFIED I can’t wait till it heals so I can see my finishing outcome. Josalyn is awesome! Very knowledgeable and super friendly! Her office is very clean and inviting. Most importantly she explains in details on what’s best for you as far as color, shape, etc. I’ve gotten my eyebrows done twice before seeing Josalyn, but wasn’t satisfied with the results. This is the best yet… and I’m going back to her to do my liner next! Can’t wait!

I was very nervous before getting eyeliner, Josalyn did an amazing job at explaining everything and making me feel comfortable. She is very skilled and professional and after a lot of research I’m so happy I went to her. Her prices are extremely reasonable. I love my new eyeliner and will recommend her to anyone who asks!

Yesterday on December 30, 2014, I had permanent eyeliner added to both my top eyelids and under my eyes. Josalyn Williams used half and half ink & pigments that she recommended.
Josalyn took great care in explaining the choices, process, preparation, and after care. She really cares about how you want to look and was very accommodating when asked to make adjustments. Her attitude and professionalism were very good and explained things clearly.
I went in with two others at the same time and because we went in as a group, Josalyn gave us a discount.
The procedure was irritating to the eye for those of you that are interested in doing this but have never tried it. Josalyn prepared us well with after care procedures. I would definitely go to Makeup for Keeps again. It was worth it.

Josalyn is terrific. She spent a lot of time with me during the consultation and drawing in the brows. I just had it done yesterday but it looks great. I feel more stinging now than during the procedure, Josalyn was very careful to make me comfortable. The procedure and office were both very sanitary, I was checking! Easy parking, free in the late afternoon.

Look no further! This is it. The owner operator, Josalyn is extremely professional, meticulous, customer service oriented and compassionate. Her facility is spacious, clean, comfortable and air conditioned. Her prices are affordable for the level of service she offers. She is highly skilled and very personable. She calls to check on her clients after initial treatment and doesn’t rush you through the process. Takes the time to answer all of your questions and is patient and calming. Takes the time to do the pre-​treatment; options, topical numbing and always makes sure you’re comfortable at each step of the process. I was worried about my brows going into the third week. She told me to come in and she’d have a look. I did & was assured they were right on target. She was right! I am going in for the 6week check and touch up. She’s a true artist. I’m thrilled to have found her. Yes she came from a high end shop «Face It» congratulations Jos’ on your shop! I cannot express how happy I AM. THANK YOU.

My brow tattoos needed a touch up so I called the previously place I had them done and was sad to find out Josalyn had left. I was so happy I came across. Living social deal and figured out it was Josalyn. She has opened her own shop. It took me awhile (due to laziness) to make an appointment and am so happy I did. Josalyn is still as awesome as ever and of course did a wonderful job on my eyebrows. She is very easy to talk to and makes the whole experience as comfortable as possible. Josalyn is a true perfectionist, after my brows chilled out for a bit she took a another look and decided she needed to fix my left brow. To me my brows looked good as they were but to a professional like her she noticed the minute difference and fixed it right away. I’m super satisfied with brows and can’t wait till they are fully healed. I think she has specials running every so often. This week she has a mothers day special running this week, $ 100 off services so I’ll be coming in again this Friday for the lash enhancement tattoo.

I was invited to Makeup for Keeps for a Motives event. The owner invited some of her customers, friends, and family to try out this small cosmetics line that custom blends your foundation while you wait.
Although I did not try out the services offered here, which consists of mostly permanent makeup, the owner is a very welcoming woman who will make you feel like one of the besties coming to check out the event.
The salon is very clean and accessible, with plenty of parking on the weekend. If you are interested in permanent makeup, I would suggest you try her out. She is located in the back of Harbor Center behind Goodwill in Pearl City.

Professional and friendly, perfectionist, clean and spacious, affordable, and most of all PAINLESS! These are the first things that come to mind when I think about my experience with Josalyn. It’s been a over a month since getting my eyebrows corrected and a week since the touch up and I am very pleased with the results so far! I’ll be having my eyeliner done by Josalyn in a few weeks… hope it will be just as painless.

Josalyn’s been doing my tattoo for several years now when she was working at Face It. Now she’s opened her own salon I followed her! Her newly renovated salon is in a great location and lots of parking! She has done my eyebrows before and they look great. She recently retouched my eyeliner and as always she does a great job. I trust her doing my eyes because she has gentle and steady hands. She gave me a care kit after! Nobody’s ever given me a care kit before;)
Josalyn is dedicated in making women beautiful. She perms and tints eyelashes and I’ll probably do this next. She did my daughter’s hair and make up for her dance concert, too! I’ll keep coming back to her for my beautification needs. Thanks Josalyn!
