My usual pick is the firecracker chicken + spicy ahi plate! Super good! Today I went in and decided to try something different, was craving steak! But wanted something better than blazin steak. Pulled up Unilocal to find some places in the area, and up came queen st café! Looked over a few photos and the steak just looked super juicy and good portion — alone or with a combo! I was just going to get the kiawe grilled steak plate but saw photos and really good reviews on the spicy garlic shrimp as well, so decided to get the combo on both. My order today — kiawe grilled steak & north shore style spicy garlic shrimp with one school garlic mash one scoop white rice and tossed greens! Came out to around $ 13. Waited about 10 – 15 min for the plate to be ready, decided to drizzle some wasabi aioli on top my steak and oriental dressing on my tossed greens & took it to go. The smell of the garlic shrimp is AMAZING! It wasn’t too spicy either it was perfect! I loved it! The steak most pieces I got was fatty(which I know some people love and say are the best part lol) but in my opinion I rather have more meat than fat haha! But other than that the steak is yes, way better than blazin steak! Cut thicker than blazin steak as well and wasn’t dry! It went perfect with the garlic mash & wasabi aioli topped it off! I will definitely return again! Customer service is also very awesome very friendly vibes. Love it here!

I’m not sure why they call this place Queen Street café when it’s located on Kauhale Street, however, the food here is delicious! We ordered lunch from here at work one day for a coworker’s birthday and it was very tasty. I got the UH sports special plate and it came with kiawe steak, salad, fried fish(Zippy’s style), a piece of ham, garlic chicken and rice with furikake on it. Everything in this plate was delicious and my tummy was in a very happy place. Just a warning if you are going to take out a good size order. We ordered around eight plates and it was not ready for half an hour after the promised time. It was worth the wait, but we used up our whole lunch break waiting for the food which was a bummer since I couldn’t enjoy it. We have also catered the shrimp balls from here, which was very good, but super expensive! Make sure you check the prices before you get surprised like we did! This location is in Aiea on the same street as the post office, on the right side second driveway. I will be back.

We were in the area and L remembered eating here. We were pretty hungry and it smelled very good inside. Staff was very patient and funny as we tried to figure out what to order. This elderly lady came in. I told her to go ahead of us. She suggested the kiawe teriyaki Chicken. I’m an easy sell. L decided to go with the guava smoked pork. That sounded good too. Actually everything sounded good. When in doubt, always go with your first pick and stick to it. Then we saw a picture of onions and mushroom gravy over pork. Man, I love onions. Still, I tend to be a loyalist so I stick to my order. L decides to go half and half as suggested by the staff when spotting the mass confusion of chaos on her face. We both get brown rice and toss. No dressing on mine please. I like it raw. This was towards the end of the lunch crowd. A table finally cleared for us to sit. We took it immediately in case of a 2nd wave rush. Kiawe Teriyaki Chicken $ 7.50 The Kiawe Teriyaki I could smell way before it reached me sitting at the table. Opening the box, I see the green salad vividly telling me it is fresh. The brown rice, looked and tasted like the Calrose brand I get. The chicken was wonderfully cooked. Not dry, firm and moist holding the natural flavor. The kiawe teriyaki flavor slathered on was wonderful. I could taste the kiawe. Sometimes lacking in other kiawe cooked foods. Guava Smoked Pork w/Onions //Fried Pork Chops with Mushrooms & Onions $ 8.00 Looking at all that with it bathing in those sweet tender onions was lots to bear. L did allow me a taste. If I ever get back here I’m gonna have to get this dish for myself. That sampling taste packed lots of delicious flavor. It was so good. Located in the Aiea Town Square with Daiichi and Hughley’s, parking can get tough during the busier times but tends to be ample parking.

I ate here for the first time today, and I must say, the dynamite chicken, and furikake chicken are to die for! The spicy ahi is good too! My bf had the kiawe steak and he said it was super soft! Definitely one of my new fave«cheap eats». The only reason I’m giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because the wait was a little long, and it’s not very eye pleasing. The customer service from local girls is always the best! Will return again soon, because I know I’ll be craving that chicken!

Always wanted to come here after seeing the infamous«firecracker chicken w/spicy ahi» pic on just about all my social media pages so when I had the time my boyfriend and I finally decided to go. It’s a cozy little place that feels like you’re eating at a relative’s house. The service was awesome, everyone was so friendly and helpful. And of course we ordered the firecracker chicken w/spicy ahi combo and it really was great but the total for both plates came out to $ 20 so 1 star off for being a lil pricy. Overall a great experience and would comeback!

Our favorite place to eat in Hawaii! We’ve talked about returning to the island just for the steak and firecracker chicken! The serving portionS are so generous and the sides are just as delicious as the entrees! The service there is so friendly and the food is so fresh, you really can’t beat it!

Been coming here for years and still do come at least 3 – 4 times a week for lunch. Tried almost everything on the menu. But I almost always get the steak and ahi with rice. You can’t go wrong with the steak. And if you like ahi, get that too. If you are military, come in uniform they give you a generous discount. I always call them ahead of time to order because during lunch hours, they are super busy. Make an order 20 mins before and your order will be ready when you get there.

Another small hole in the wall mixed plate vibe. Right across the street of Aiea Bowl. Food: Good, comforting, great portions Price: Cheap Small seats about 16 max Dynamite/Firecracker Chix was delish and it was a very good portion Pork Chops were yummy, a bit dry but flavor was there. Ill be back to try the ahi belly and ahi katsu. Happy Eating!

We came here twice(family and I). Used the HawaiiDealsNow Coupon. Best Deal. We bought a few more. Of course I should give it five stars, but there are just some things we were dissatisfied with. For our orders it took a while to come out, people came after us had all left LOL. We came before the rush, and got it after the rush. They said they were waiting for my tofu salad, I believe they ran out of tofu. Now, about the food. We loved the smoked steak. My father loves any type of smoke foods and this was a plus for him. First time I came, I ordered the firecracker chicken. And it was delicious. The tofu salad, was okay… skimpy on the salmon. My father had said, I think they used just the fallout pieces from the other salmons they cook. The mix plate, I would recommend however. You get a variety of meats. The best sides for us was the pasta salad. No more Mac for me XD at least here anyways. And, it was an so-so for the yakisoba chicken plate. Not broke the mouth delicious. The make-your-own condiments area was awesome. I love the sauces they had, especially the wasabi sauce. We have a few more coupons, we will be back. Of course not because of the coupons only haha I added some photos :) check them out.

Hot deals Hawaii had an offer for $ 10 worth of $ 20 food here. YAY! Coupons make me try new places. This is my first time here. It seems they were located in downtown years ago, but now they’re located in Aiea. It’s the shopping square across from Aiea Bowling Alley. It’s a small restaurant hidden in this area. When we walked inside the place looked rather old and dirty. There were four tables. People mostly do take out I guess. It gets busy though. The service was good. They weren’t rude at all. Seems like they enjoy working there. Anyways, we looked at the menu and found what we wanted. We ordered the shrimp tempura and kiawe steak with brown with and mac salad $ 11.50, and furikake garlic chicken with pasta salad and brown rice, $ 7. We also got a can of ice tea. The total came out to around $ 21 so we actually paid $ 11 for the whole meal. Sweet! It took around 10 – 15 minutes for our order because a group ordered before us. The food smelled really good when we opened the bag. The brown rice was a big scoop but it was warm and mushy. The pasta salad was sweet and sour, not bad. The mac salad was ok, nothing special. The garlic chicken was sort of soggy, doesn’t seem fresh. The tempura shrimp was made with corn bread flour, interesting, not bad. It was a pretty big piece. The kiawe steak was my favorite. The meat was cooked medium rare. Not too burnt and it was delicious. OMG! I would come back for the steak. We had leftovers and it made our lunch the next day. The food here is pretty cheap with the amount of food you get. The quality of the food isn’t too bad. It was way better too with a coupon. *Wink* Life of a graduate student. #cheapeats

I’ve always passed by this place because it’s in a familiar part of Aiea. In fact, within this plaza, I’ve taken ballet lessons, gotten my hair cut, and even dined at some of the other eateries(Young’s Kalbee; Hughley’s Southern Cuisine). Yet, this was the first time I’ve actually eaten at Queen St. Café and Grill … and I know it won’t be the last! This eatery closes at 6 p.m., so be sure you get there early; otherwise, they’ll sell out of their most popular entrees. It’s a good idea to call ahead to see what they have, or to place your take-out order if you’re looking for something specific. That’s what I did, even though my friend and I were planning on meeting there around 5:30 p.m. There are a few tables inside the eatery, but it seems to be a more popular take-out spot. Great option if you’re in the area! The staff were all really friendly and helpful; they were more than happy to refill my water and answered all of my questions about the menu. I loved everything I got from here, and they have a great variety available on their menu. Definitely will be back! «Korean Chicken Katsu/Firecracker Chicken Combo»: During this trip to Queen St. Café, I learned that you can basically combo any item on the menu … you just end up paying the price of the higher item. I specifically wanted to try the«Korean Chicken Katsu» during my visit, so I called at around 2:30 p.m. to see if they had it available. It turns out that they did, and it’s a good thing I called to place my order … by the time my friend and I showed up around 5:30 p.m., they were all out of the Korean Chicken Katsu! On the phone, the girl told me that this is one of the more popular menu items! I can see why; I was so glad to be able to try it. I opted for the Korean Chicken Katsu – one of the best sellers – and I also wanted to try the«Dynamite Chicken,» which comes with a slightly spicy sauce on top. With every plate lunch, you get your choice of potato mac salad, pasta salad or a green salad. Pasta salad isn’t usually an option, so I went with that; you also get two scoops of white rice or garlic mashed potatoes. I got white rice this time, but I definitely want to try that garlic mash on another visit. I was delighted with both chicken types, and it was hard to say which one I liked more. The katsu had a nice breaded texture – not too crunchy – and the interior was moist and flavorful. The amount of chicken given was sufficient, and the layer of breading wasn’t too thick so it didn’t overwhelm the meat. I would get this Korean Chicken Katsu again cause I loved the sauce; you get a subtle kick that gives it additional flavor. But, I really liked the«Dynamite Chicken» as well. This chicken is fried to perfection and has a delectable crunch, and the sauce that tops it is slightly spicier than the one atop the Korean Chicken Katsu. I think I ended up liking this one a little more than the katsu, but I’m glad I got both! The pasta salad was delicious … it wasn’t as flavorful as I imagined it would be, but I love pasta salad so it was nice to change things up. «Furikake Garlic Chicken/Ahi Katsu Combo»: My friend got two different meats so we could share everything. He opted for the«Ahi Katsu,» which came with a creamy, tasty tartar sauce, and the«Furikake Garlic Chicken,» at the recommendation of the girl behind the counter. It was hard for me to determine which I liked better, because I really enjoyed both! The ahi katsu was tender and flaky, and it actually tasted really light … pair it with that tartar sauce and you have a winner on your hands. The«Furikake Garlic Chicken» isn’t too garlicky, and it doesn’t have that much furikake on top … just enough for some extra saltiness and flavor. I loved the crunchy exterior and the extra seasoning. My friend also got pasta salad, since they ran out of mac salad. He was pleased with his dish, saying that this was a good deal for the amount of food that you get. «Spicy Garlic Shrimp»: I can’t wait to try this North Shore-style garlic shrimp! I’ve seen photos of it posted by other Unilocalers, and the shrimp seem to be bursting with flavor … plus, they’re a decent size for plate lunch!” «Mahi Mahi Katsu»: This entrée seems similar to the«Ahi Katsu,» and it comes with your choice of wasabi aioli or tartar sauce. I can only handle small portions of wasabi, so if the aioli’s really strong, I’ll probably opt for the tartar sauce. I love mahi mahi in of itself, so I’m excited to try this katsu version one day.

BIGMAHALOS to my Yeeps(especially Traci T, Judy C & Traci R!) for pointing the way to this fabulous find! Don’t know WHY I’ve never been here before, but this is a gem of a plate lunch spot, complete with great food, good portions, nice people & awesome prices! Love the option to have 2 scoops rice OR garlic mash, along with potato-mac salad OR tossed greens OR pasta salad… mmmm, the garlic mash! Since I’d heard they get really busy, I tried to go arrive at an «off-time»(4:30pm on Saturday), but apparently there’s no such thing at Queen St Café. Especially when there’s a UH football game that night! Although I’d made a phone order several hours earlier, apparently they needed to confirm my choice of starch for one of the plates – & they only called about 5 minutes before my scheduled pick-up time – so I ended up waiting another 15 – 20 minutes for them to finish up my order. Then again, that was still way better than the walk-ins & new phone orders coming in when I arrived… they were told it would be a 45-minute wait! That night, we got the steak, furikake garlic chicken & pork chops…& since then I’ve also gone back for their chicken katsu(phone-order again, & that time only a few minutes’ wait). So far, everything we’ve had there is excellent plate lunch fare: pretty good portions, cheap prices, quality food served at the right temperature & plenty of flavor without being too salty… can’t ask for much more than that!

YUMMYANDAFFORDABLE??? It’s located right next to Palazzo and idk why but it makes me really happy to see the two places I really love right next to each other LOL if only they were closer to town area :( When I first came here, I did a whole bunch of research and decided to get a combo of firecracker chicken and spicy ahi w/rice and pasta salad. My friend told me not to get the pasta salad since pasta salad isn’t really anything special but I was too stubborn and got it anyways LOL don’t be like me… opt for the garlic mashed potatoes instead The wait was ridiculously long and it was pretty busy too so we were standing for quite a bit and it didn’t really help that it was a small place so I was basically blocking the condiment station and I had to frequently move out of the way xP Always keep a close eye on the tables and look for any subtle hints of people leaving because you want to bullet speed over and jack that table! Or you’ll be stuck having to eat somewhere else… luckily we got a table! The portions look HUGE. Especially for a combo plate and if I recall, it was all less than $ 10(give or take a dollar) and I couldn’t wait to dig in :3 the chicken was amazing @_@ it felt fresh out of the fryer and the sauce on top just brought everything together ^__^ I’m definitely going to order this chicken again hehe the spicy ahi wasn’t anything special; it tasted like the spicy ahi at Foodland if anything(looks prettier) but still yummy. I got to try my friend’s steak and it was pretty good too! And the fact that she drizzled ranch over it probably made it better xD I hope to come back here soon because the second time I came, I was sick so I had no choice but to watch all my friends eat the yummy food while I sadly munched on soda crackers T____T I still snuck a firecracker chicken and couple bites of kimchi fried rice LOL(btw kimchi fried rice? Not too bad)

I can admit, they have good food here. I really like the garlic chicken and spicy tuna plate. BUT I was really upset when my order took almost 30 minutes for one plate! Even before I asked the cashier how long it would take, she told me around 5 to 10 minutes. If they were busy, I totally would have understood but there were only 3 people in there. I kept asking if it was almost done. Turns out, the first time I asked they somehow they forgot my order. So I waited another 7 minutes or so and they said it was almost done but turns out they had to make the spicy tuna still(which the girl didn’t tell me until I asked what they were waiting on). After about 30 minutes, I finally got my food. Non of them apologized for the wait the entire time I was there. Based on the reviews, it seems that this isn’t a regular thing so I must have came on an off day.

I live in this area and never had the chance to try this place until now! It’s a little hole in the wall located right before the aiea post office. I ordered a uh special which had steak, garlic chicken, fried fish, luncheon meat and your choice of starch and salad! It was a pretty big plate and I really liked it. I also ordered a don special which came with steak, calamari, shrimp tempura, and your choice of starch and salad, this one was ok but I think I preferred the uh special! You know the food must be good when you wait on the side for your order and there’s a line going out the door!

It’s a small little café across from PC Gamerz in Aiea. My first time here, but my boyfriend always comes here because he’s a dork and stays at PC Gamerz all the time. There are 4 tables that seat 4 each. It’s small and feels homey. Right when we walked in, there was a line, which must mean the food is good. The lady greeted us and showed me the menu so I can look since it’s my first time there. Everything looked so good. I got the yakisoba with Teri chicken I think. But they didn’t have the chicken so they recommended garlic chicken instead. You get to choose starch and salad. You can get mashed potatoes, pasta salad, toss salad, and other stuff. Boyfriend got the steak with mashed potatoes and toss salad. The food didn’t take long. And when we got it, it was huge portions!!! I didn’t get to finish my plate. There was lots of food. You get your own utensils and sauces in the corner. Which is good because you can load up on the sauces. The lady was really nice when we only got one water, she asked if we wanted two because there was two of us. And said she can refill it if we need. When we got a bag, she was super sweet too. The service was great, that’s what really made me happy about the place and it’s really important to me since I work in food service and strive on giving my customers good customer service. Definitely will come back and try their other foods, especial their poke and fried rices!!!

Pretty good! I made a phone order, and it was ready by the time I got there. I got the firecracker chicken with spicy tuna combo. I loved the firecracker chicken which was so crispy, and it went so well with the spicy tuna, brown rice, and tossed salad. The spicy tuna tasted pretty fresh, but the cubes were kinda small. The people upfront were really friendly and the prices are really reasonable here! I’ll probably come back for the Korean katsu or the kiawe steak!

The two times I have been here have been spot on… well for the taste of food. Service can be kinda slow and when I came here at a little before 6:00 pm they were out of Kiawe steak… which was what my brother wanted so boo for him. He ended up only getting a spicy ahi poke bowl. I ordered the Korean Katsu and Spicy Ahi mixed plate with all tossed salad. Talk about yum! The Korean Katsu is a yummy twist to your regular chicken katsu. It’s marinated in a sauce that’s like Korean chicken and makes the chicken really moist and tasty! I’m a chicken katsu snob and this rates way up there for yumminess! I’m a spicy ahi snob as well. I’ve got to say that this one is not bad. A little spicy, but not overwhelming where you need to call the fire department like NOW! Believe me, I’ve had those before. Plus, the fish is cut up into chunks… it’s not one of those mushy type of spicy ahi poke that you find at some establishments. Long story short… would I come back here despite the fact that they might be out of what I want to order and have a bit of a wait? Sure… why not? Food is delicious… portions are reasonable… price is fair. Oh, by the way… if you come on Tuesdays and Wednesdays with your iDcard you get 15% off! Mondays, Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays are 10% off. Sundays are closed. Don’t forget your iDcard! They often have deals on Hot Deals Hawaii… usually $ 10 for $ 20 worth of food. Good deal!
