We ate at Auten’s while visiting Aiken yesterday. The service was friendly and efficient. The atmosphere was fair. I ordered the blueberry pancake breakfast with cheese & eggs and bacon. The pancake was really thick and bigger than the plate it was sitting on – but not really all that tasty. The cheese & eggs were ok but not great. My husband enjoyed his breakfast with the country fried steak, eggs and hash browns. The hash browns were kind of like mashed potato instead of shredded potato. He asked to have added peppers and onions and thought they were really great.

This is our go to place after Church on Sunday’s. The service is always fast even when they are packed. They have lots of delicious choices and the menu is always changing with daily specials. It is a family friendly place and we love it.

Auten’s serves great country-​style Southern food. The restaurant caters to families, with a schoolhouse theme and a playroom for the kids. The staff is very pleasant and accommodating. We love the food and the folks.

One of my fav waitresses has left to head to another town. Do not fear, cuties remain plus a new one. I love the staff here, they compliment the good food properly. Plus they always reserve a seat for me in the handsome section!

Thanks everyone for the Unilocal recommendations for this place. I grew up here but haven’t been here really for 20 years. I was looking for authentic down home Southern style breakfast. Everyone kept saying go for the biscuits. I have to add that recommendation. SOO good. I’m a french toast guru so ordered the French Toast breakfast. The portions were so big that I was overwhelmed. But the french toast was fluffy with a touch of cinnamon and they will top it off with powdered sugar just for kicks. The staff was very friendly.

Yummmmm! I don’t come home to Aiken very often but when I do, I always make sure to make a stop here. It’s definitely nothing fancy but has a lot of character. I’ve never had a bad meal here. My kiddo loves their pancakes! Waitresses are all great and very nice. Great selection on the menu and the omelette are easily shareable.

I’m not really sure what others see in this place. Our wait staff was very nice, but everything else was average to subpar. It took an extremely long time for us to get two straightforward dishes, biscuits and gravy and pancakes. The pancakes were nothing special (looked like the ones I make at home out of a box) and the biscuits and gravy were luke warm and average.

Perfectly serviceable breakfast-​and-​lunch place in Aiken. Nothing seemed superb, and coffee was marginal, though I guess average for a diner. Opens early and closes at two or three in the afternoon.

Everyone was so nice the moment we walked in. The owner personally recommended lunch options. The pancakes were as big as the plate and the Breakfast Bowl was everything I wanted in a bowl. The sweet tea was perfectly sweetened. Coffee and water was always refilled. We ate like kings and queens for about $ 13. Such great value, taste and service. The biscuits were to die for and the pecan pie was reordered after the first piece if that tells you how good it was. ;)

Best breakfast in Aiken hands down!!! Biscuits melt in your mouth and the grits are hot and creamy! Great staff and great food. Very accommodating and kid friendly place. Locally owned. I highly recommend if your looking for a homemade meal, this is the spot. Don’t assume you have to wake up early to get breakfast… They serve it all day which is nice. If it’s a hot lunch you’re looking for, it’s a nice spot too with changing daily specials. Only down side is they are only open until 2PM.

We have recently moved to Aiken and was craving some good breakfast food today. Found really good reviews for Auten’s and decided to give it a try. We are not disappointed at all. I ordered the the one egg plate with sausage. Everything was absolutely delicious. The eggs were cooked perfectly and the sausage not too greasy. The atmosphere of the restaurant was really laid back and relaxing. The servers were very friendly and so were the other patrons of the restaurant. We really enjoyed our breakfast and will be back again.

I was on my way to work when I heard the commercial and at the same time got an intense craving for pancakes. I am so glad I stopped in! The pancakes are huge, light, fluffy and delicious! They even have sugar free syrup upon request. The staff is pretty attentive. I get the feeling the restaurant has a lot of regulars as they called several seniors by name as they served them. This place has a good, down home feel. I’ll be back!

Friendly service, Great food, and lots of it! We love to eat breakfast here. The omelets are very good, and they always cook my eggs correctly. The grits are fantastic, very creamy and smooth. We love the «school décor».
