I stopped at Cracker Barrel in Aiken for a late breakfast before heading on a day trip and had a less then stellar experience. On arrival we were greeted, well lack there of by the host. He seemed to hate his job and never greeted us, but rather said simply«this way.» For a southern hospitality restaurant this was shocking. Our server Miranda on the other hand was amazing. She was extremely nice, knowledgeable and actually cared about or dining experience. The actual food portion of the dining experience was also disappointing. The food took extremely long to be served and for a late breakfast when the restaurant wasn’t busy, the time was disappointing. Furthermore, the plating of the food was lackluster. I’ve been to many Cracker barrel restaurants and was thoroughly disappointed by this visit. The only reason I gave this place 3 stars instead of 2 is the server Miranda. If you choose to get to this location ask for her has your server.

Like all their other locations I have visited both the food and service was good. I am not a big fan of the store up front but I just ignore that part of the experience. I always enjoy brunch at Cracker Barrel!

I have eaten here 3 times since they have opened. Its been decent service and food. I went last weekend and ordered the Momma’s French Toast breakfast. One piece of french toast came out with only half of the bread dipped in egg. I don’t know how anyone, from the cook to the server, thinks that was good enough to serve. I ask the server for another piece and she went to the kitchen and returned to the table and ask if she could have the half dipped piece to show the cook(I guess the cook didn’t believe it) The new piece came out 10 minutes later and I could tell it was just made. It made the other pieces taste like they had been sitting in a warmer.

I’m going to cut straight to the chase. Our waitress, Julie V. treated me and my guest like THEENEMY. She slammed down our plates, kept taking our used napkins off the table of which my supplements were in and threw them away. She hates her job in the most obvious way possible. My guests who live in Aiken said she was always like that and that hated when they were seated in her section. They are nice folks that just«take it lying down» and ignore her and focus on the food they love. I on the other hand, have Unilocal to help me «take it standing up». Food was great! Service was grating!

For some reason when I went, there weren’t that many people, it wasn’t as crowded as it usually is. Yet, somehow the food took about 45 minutes to get to us. I got the sampler dinner which comes with meatloaf, chicken and dumplings, and country or sugar ham. It also comes with three sides and biscuits or cornbread. It was a lot of food, and it tasted pretty good. I just was upset with how long it took for the food to get to us. I’ll probably try it again later, when I’m more hungry and have time to waste.

Good southern food at decent prices. Always consistently good, this location is pretty popular in Aiken, so be prepared for a bit of a wait if going during normal lunch/dinner hours. Make sure to ask for biscuits and cornbread and for the special apple butter!

Normally really good but first time here for this location and my eggs were hard even though I asked for them runny. Plus when asked no one knew about what was available stock wise in their shop.
