Ni Hao Buffet

Had good appetizers the salt and pepper chicken was to be spicy but was sweet. Have had much better at other places.

I’ve only been here for lunch and the food is never hot. I’ve asked about it several times and the response I got was that they add water to the buffet and allow it to heat up over time instead of adding hot water to begin with. Then I was told I should come later to have hot food. What?!?
Food is ok, nothing special.

Visited again last week. Still just fine, nice staff, nice place, 2 star food. Nothing stands out, alot of the food tastes alike and the crab rangoons taste like cardboard.

This place was a pleasant surprise. Dropped in mid afternoon for lunch. It was quite busy, the food fresh, and the employees very friendly. As a whole the food was pretty good and the crab cakes were actually excellent!

You know that feeling when you immediately regret spending your money? Well that’s exactly how I felt about this place when I sat down to eat my plate of food.
We use to come and eat here when it first opened years ago and I was satisfied with the food. Now, the food there is just awful and gone downhill. It literally tastes like it has been sitting under the buffet lamps for hours upon hours… None of it had been stirred either, so every station of food had that nasty shiny coating over the top of it. Even when we made our plates, my 5 year old son wouldn’t eat it and he isn’t a picky eater AT ALL! The dessert was alright. The macaroons tasted like they had just been thawed out from the freezer, but the little cakes were okay.

Have eaten here a half dozen times over several years, always for lunch. With each successive visit, the food quality, selection and service has declined. The sushi selection is very slim and the quality is below average. They apparently make a certain amount of sushi for the lunch crowd but don’t make any attempt to replenish after the peak lunch demand.
I recently was seated at 1pm for a late lunch and specifically asked if there was still sushi, receiving an affirmative yes from both the waitress and manager while being seated, but the selection was the worst I’ve ever scene and quality was poor.
We won’t be returning. There are other similar establishments in Aiken with better selection, quality and service than Ni Hao Buffet. Don’t recommend.

This place is disgusting. My boyfriend and I went here once a year ago when we first moved here and hated it. We swore we would never go back, but recently decided to give them a second chance. Terrible mistake… All the food is either fried or super oily with very bland taste. The fish is not fresh. Don’t waste your time or money by going here.

Not saying much for Aiken… but it’s the best Chinese food I’ve had here for the money. I have met colleagues here for lunch on several occasions. The staff is not the most friendly, but they are helpful. They put a lot of food out on the buffet, so it sits and gets dried out looking. The crab Rangoon are very yum. There is no crab, but the cream cheese is not very sweet while the wonton is perfectly fried. They pair well with the red sweet and sour sauce. There is a Hibachi in the back where you can take a bowl of veggies to the cook and he will prepare the meal fresh. I found the seasoning lacking. The only protein to choose was chicken or beef. The only veggie options are egg drop soup, poor salad bar, some sushi, rice, and string beans. I took some broccoli from a chicken dish… I’m sure I’ll return, but they could do better.

Very good food. Fast and friendly service. Décor makes you feel gross. Did not try the sushi.

Went to lunch today with a co-​worker and had the worst experience. Will not be back. She asked for Won Tons… without soup… the server uncerimounsly plopped down a bowl of «soup» with hair in it. She was so rude and annoyed by our presence. The only response we got during ordering our food was «yeah». The restaurant also looked like it had not been cleaned in 2 years. It’s a shame… but we will not be back… ever. With so many new restaurants opening in Aiken it’s important for restaurant owners to stay on top of service and food quality, they obvs don’t care.

I work nightshift a hospital and ni hao has since become our go to delivery place. The owner is always so nice, speedy, and professional! If the order is ever incorrect he will run back, fix it, and redikver it w/​out another thought. Also, i am very sensitive to most chinese buffet restaraunts, but ni hao’s consistently fresh ingrediants makes this the cleanest, most tasty chinese food. (by which ive never been made sick, UNLIKE little china off york st!). I usually dont listen to newspaper/​community awards, but ni hao has earned their place as a top chinese restaraunt.

Nasty surprise — after eating at their Sunday buffet, my mother and I were kept up all night with severe stomach cramps that continued into the next day. I really wanted this to be my go-​to Chinese restaurant in Aiken: it’s clean, pleasant, the food is decent for a Chinese buffet — nothing exceptional, but fair enough to satisfy a craving for Chinese. And the location is perfect. But after staying up all night in pain, there is no way I’m going to risk eating there again.

I was not impressed. The sushi selection was minimal. Even the hibachi wasn’t that good. Some of the buffet selections were cold. Service was good, but we probably won’t be going back.

Very nice buffet. Had the lunch buffet and it was huge. For I believe 8 dollars there was a large selection and everything was realativly good.

This is a really great Chinese /​Japanese buffet. The restaurant is clean and inviting. Food has always been good and basic types of sushi rolls have always been fresh and available when I visit. Price is reasonable. Overall, a good value to go to.

The food here is really good, clean restaurant. The service is bad though. Don’t eat the red or green cake!!!
