Tacos and sushi under one roof? You have got to be kidding me! ANDITWASAWESOME! The sushi was fantastic and the quesadilla was pretty good too. I did find out later that takosushi is actually the Japanese word for octopus sushi. It was a really interesting play on words that just works. Totally worth the price.

Have a sushi roll or a taco, the choice is yours. Try the asparagus and the tempura salad. I always have a great time and great food.

Had a redfish and chips special. Redfish is rarely found on a menu in SC. The chips were fried vegetables(squash, asparagus and sweet potato slices). Good portion. Fish would benefit from some type of breading before frying.

Worst experience ever… place is average to begin with but when i poured my last shot of sake and a roach came out with it it was the last time i returned… The manager took off 50%. What a insult it should have been free and kissed my you know what to not report the disgusting experience… Place is filthy… no stars for you!

Saturday night and TakoSushi was about 80% full at 8pm. Walked in and the four seat bar was full but a table was avail. Waitress was solicitous and ordered the Cucumber Salad and the Asian Chicken Stir Fry. It was all well done. Wait staff was good and timely. I will go back and next time it is Mex!

I order from here frequently, since I work around the corner. I always get the Crazy Roll and the Cucumber salad(no sprouts). It is amazing sushi! The place is somewhat small but seems clean and the staff is great!

Good atmosphere and cool location on the alley. I had the steak tacos and they were okay. Nothing spectacular about them. My friend had the burrito and said it was FANTASTIC. I ended up leaving my credit card there and they kept it safely in the register for me to get that next day. Great sushi selection! I just can’t eat fish.

I love Sushi and I love Mexican food, and although polar opposites in many aspects, I think the menu works. I was in more of a Mexican mood, so I went with a green chile chicken burrito. Others in our party had a pork burrito, chile rellenos, crazy susan roll, and firecracker shrimp. I tried them all. The chile rellenos were by far the standout dish. They were simply amazing. They didn’t have an overly fluffy egg batter like many do. I could really taste the green chilles, and the red sauce on top was nice and zippy. I regretted not ordering them for myself, but I’m glad I got to taste them. My chicken burrito was pretty good, and quite large. The chicken was cubed and diced, so it wasn’t as tender as pulled/stewed chicken. Also, the cubing of the chicken didn’t allow for flavor penetration into the meat. The Pork burrito was the same. The meat was cubed/diced instead of shredded or pulled, and I found the chewy texture a turn off. It wasn’t bad, but it could have been better if it was pulled meat. The side of ranch beans were extremely good. The firecracker shrimp were perfectly fine, but fried, farm raised shrimp with a sweet and tangy sauce only go so far for me. The crazy susan roll was good, but not amazing. It seemed to be a little light on ingredients. We received good service, although the Mexican food seemed to take quite a while to come out of the kitchen. It wasn’t a crazy, long wait, but it was noticeably long for the amount of patrons in the restaurant. The sushi orders were prepared much quicker. Some of the sushi rolls sounded pretty good, but I would personally never order sushi with tilapia. I was turned off by seeing tilapia on the sushi menu. Overall, I really liked this place. When I return I’ll go straight for the rellenos. If for some crazy reason I’m not in a Mexican mood I’ll get one of their sushi offerings, but without Tilapia, of course.

I always eat at TakoSushi whenever I am in the area. The sushi is delicious, and I love the Takosushi sauce. I could go on about how good the food is, but I give this place 4 stars instead of 5 because of the service. Often times the servers are short with you and not very attentive. I just ate here today and the server was terrible. They weren’t busy at all, but she kept disappearing. We had to ask someone for napkins, for to-go boxes, for our bill, etc. Luckily they have awesome food to make up for terrible service!

An awesome mix of Mexican and Japanese food. The pokke was tasty, the crazy roll was excellent! The fish tacos or takos as they call it were yummy and so were the steak tacos. We stopped eating only when we couldn’t eat any more it was so good. Weird idea of a Mexican/sushi place but oddly enough it works! Definitely recommend the place. It wild be one of our regular places if we lived nearby.

My kids have grown up here and we’ve seen a lot of staff come and go, but we love it here. Food is always great and the ones that still know us, are the best!

Love fried Asparagus! Unusual hours sometimes. Always enjoy it though. Drinks are average price as those in same area. Seating is good and they have outside seating as well.

Always love eating at Takosushi! I recently tried the Mexican food and it was just as delicious as the sushi. The chili relleno here was better than anywhere else that I have had one. This time around I am trying the Yasai and the Dynamite rolls and they were delicious!

I gave this place 4 stars because the waitress was in a hurry when she took our orders, and was in a hurry all night the food was absolutely delicious loved the tuna appetizer spicy and yummy, the tempura asapagarus was good but was fried a tad too ugh however the sushi rolls were made to perfection. The idea of Mexican and sushi in one place was really interesting …

Great local spot that often gets super busy at times, but they always figure out how to accommodate everyone as best as possible — Otis, one of the principals, is the heart & soul of the restaurant. The food is always fresh, well prepared and delivered quickly by attentive wait staff. I frequent the restaurant and don’t agree with other comments regarding poor service. I’m often amazed by how well they handle the volume of people that always want to eat here.

My favorite restaurant, hands down! This is probably the best one out of all the other locations. They play the best music, all the waitresses are super nice and really quick with our order. I’m in this place at least once a week, if you have hardcore sushi cravings like me. All the rolls are fantastic. For newbies, I’d recommend The Crazy Susan, Dan’s 49, and The Firecracker rolls! The key lime-tini and espressotinis are delicious. The tempura asparagus is a fantastic appetizer too!
