My dog is one of the very few things in my life that truly make me smile so I decided to take him to a park neither of us have ever visited before for his 7th birthday. Like me, Timmy is weary of strangers & since it was July 4th you couldn’t possibly avoid them. So since it was so crowded I couldn’t really explore this trail & ended up only walking a small 1& ¾ mile trail, dogging oncoming bikers the entire time. At the beginning of the trail, there are a few spots to have a picnic & a neat(what appeared to be) train station that I have yet to explore. However, I failed to see a trashcan anywhere in site, not even near the picnic areas so if you bring your dog(s), be prepared to carry their waste the entire route or leave your smelly trash in your hot car :/Currently you may also enjoy the overwhelming smell of new asphalt & near by car fumes as you are extremely close to the road. I found this disappointing because parks are generally meant to be peaceful, quiet, soothing… I much rather hear natural sounds than noisy vehicles & headache inducing fumes from hot tar trails. But on a brighter note, if you enjoy biking, hiking or are in a motorized wheelchair all can enjoy this path as it is smooth and clean. There’s cute little historical tidbits along the way for all you history buffs that reveal the once bustling town of Botzum, Ohio. And, to my surprise, considering how many ignorant dog owners that seem to suffocate my environment– everyone enjoying the park that day all had their pets on a leash & there was no tip towing around piles of dog poop :) There’s much left to explore though so hopefully I can provide a better review of this trail in the future ;)
