I have eaten at this café about 10 times now, and each time I come I am more pleased with the food and atmosphere. What a break from the harshness of life. I am served hot coffee in a different crazy mug every time I stop in and the Eggs Benedict are sublime.(with actual hollandaise sauce) Highly recommended for anyone in the Akron area, especially coming from a morning hike at the Falls which is conveniently located ¼ of a mile from the restaurant itself. For the price of the meal you’re getting, it’s exquisite. My meal was just under $ 7 total, including coffee, eggs benedict, and homefries. My wallet and belly were satisfied upon exiting the warm wooden booths of the Candy Apple Café

Such an odd location for this good ‘ol diner. It’s in a plaza with a small grocery store. It kind of blends in quite well but it’s there, eye-catching and cutesy small-town feel. Just look at the loopy writing of Candy Apple Café. It’s so hometown(as an adjective), I love it. It reminds me of the country. I think it’s because the interior is slightly outdated, but the wood-finishing is rustic, as if grandpop cut down a tree and chiseled out the booths himself. It had to be done in the country, the oak seating is way too beautiful not to be done by hand. Anyway, carpentry observations aside, when you walk in, you can choose your own booth. So we chose a booth off to the side, away from people(duh). Our waitress was lovely and sweet. Such great service! Popped in to fill our coffee and then back again to give us our food and filing our coffee again even after we were done eating. Ahhh yes. Our food was diner food. And cheap. Just a little less than five dollars for a full plate of breakfast food. I got scrambled eggs, ham, home fries, and toast for five dollars. Yes, love love. This was actually the cheapest diner we’ve been to yet. The food was not the best, but for what you’re getting, I can’t really complain. Fill my plate and fill my belly(and for five dollars!), and I can’t complain. I’ll have to come back some time to try the afternoon meals. But for your breakfast start, this can be an easy favorite of the area.

We have eaten here many times. Excellent service. Kid friendly. They go out of there way to make my daughter feel special. If u like waffles, try the apple waffle. The chicken pita is on the menu as a Greek dish but I change it up with Italian dressing and no black olives. The chicken is always tasty. Never dry

Average food. Nothing special. The prices are outstanding. For lunch you can’t be it in Akron.

I visited candy apples for breakfast after reading some views about them. I had really high hopes but when I got my food it was kind of a bust. The food was missing any type of seasonings. Our waitress was very nice and service was quick but when it’s quick it’s just all thrown together to get people in and out. With a little extra time I think the cooks could just add a little love to the food to make it even better. Potatoes just thrown on a flat top and cooked for a couple minutes doesn’t make home fries. Pancakes were even bland and I had an omelet that was like veggies wrapped in eggs.

This little café was bustling at lunch time! Service was a wee bit slow. Food was okay. I got hot turkey sandwich with mashed potatoes and gravy. The potatoes were definitely fake. Yuck. Gravy was okay. I barely touched the potatoes which is so unlike me since mashed potatoes and gravy are one of my favorite foods. But these were bleh. The turkey was good quality deli turkey and looked cooked on the griddle first. Not bad. Mom got tuna noodle casserole special. Looked like glop but she said it tasted good. My cousin got fish taco special with fries. The taco was really more a fish burrito and looked awesome. She said it tasted really good. Fries looked great too. If this is the best Akron has to offer, it’s not bad at all. Just be choosy with what you order. The hamburger with fries and fish fry both looked great, as seen at a table nearby.

I have been going to Candy Apple for over 15 years. I know several people who make the trip to Akron just to visit Candy Apple. The food is delicious, homemade, and fairly priced. Love the menu which includes breakfast, lunch, or dinner any time. If you are lucky, you might see Tammy W. there.

First of all, they don’t sell Candy Apples. This is false advertising and is a shame. But once you get past that… Please don’t make any wise remarks about this place sharing its name with a pornstar because that would say more about your private life and internet habits than anything. Candy Apple is just so lovely and so cute(I’m talking about the restaurant, not the person), like the name suggests. It is the quintessential small town American diner, and it has small town prices too. Amazingly it has yet to be affected by the ridiculous inflation that means diners are no longer affordable to people on a budget. If you live in Akron, NY, you will be able to afford your local diner, because Candy Apple keeps its prices deep in the bargain basement. Their food is nothing spectacular, but at the same time it definitely hits the spot and is well worth a try. They stopped carrying my favourite dish(Cube Steak), but they still have dozens of local favourites. They even make a Souvlaki, although they call it Slovocki(perhaps it’s a different language). However I’m not too impressed by that dish so I recommend sticking to one of the diner staples, they will all taste good :) The guys that work in the kitchen here are awesome too. They’re Arsenal fans but you can’t have everything. YNWA.
