I would never go back to this salon again. I found the owner very rude, as well as the girl who tends the desk. I realize red highlights fade quickly but my highlights literally washed totally out the first time I washed my hair. I expected to have my highlights longer than 2 days. I informed the owner and received a rude response in return. Anyone knows in order to be a successful business owner you need to treat people with kindness. Not the case at this place.

I have been going to James M Salon since I was in 7^th grade and now I’m four years out of college, so you can do the math! I no longer live in Akron but whenever I’m in town I book an appointment. This is a fabulous salon with great staff. Jen cuts my hair and I highly recommend her!

If you are a new customer and have not been referred by a friend, ASK for a senior stylist. I made the mistake of looking at the website which is not up to date and expecting that my appointment was with one of the people shown who had years of experience. I wasn’t right. My appointment was with someone who was not shown. Result– Bad haircut. It is a nice place and products were good but without a good cut, not the place for me.

Nice salon with good employees. I haven’t had a bad experience and everytime I am there it seems like the clients are all repeat customers. Clean, comfortable, tasteful. They are always able to get me in within a weeks notice. Would definitely recommend them and I will continue to go there for my highlights, hair cut, and waxing. Aveda products are great and they have products available there as well.

SAVE YOUR MONEY… I went for a wedding consultation for hair and makeup. My makeup was done first and the girl that sat at the front desk applied my wedding makeup. AWEFUL… I sat in the chair and she had no idea what she was doing and it was very obvious, after 30 minutes in the chair she had only applied a moisturizer and gold eyeshadow. She walked away for 5 minutes and had a conversation with someone else in the salon about what she was supposed to do. Then another employee came over and asked if I had my own makeup with me they could apply??? If i had my own makeup with me I could just do MY own makeup??? Then she was all finished, I had gold eyeshadow, eyeliner on bottom lid, and barely visible mascara. AWEFUL. all of my blemishes were still visible. THEN she readily admitted she had NEVER done this before??? Then the lady that was going to do my hair came over and asked to look at my hair while my makeup «artist» was finishing, and my hair stylist said my hair was way to long to do anything with. The length sits just beyond my shoulders so its a very average length, then she asked if she could cut it so its more manageable above my shoulders. VERY VERY HORRIBLY first impression. I WOULD NEVER recommend this place to anyone. Literally with in 2 hrs after my appointment the entire hairdo fell out with bobby pins dropping on the floor every other second. VERY embarrassing. Please save your money and any embarrassment for your wedding day.
