Nicole’s Connection

If I could give it 0 stars I would. It took forever for my clothes to dry. I have no idea how much money I ending up spending. We didn’t even get to fully dry our one load because they closed and kicked us out. Not to mention, our clothes smelled like cat pee when we took them out of the dryer. Will not be back. Save your time and go to Valley Laundry just up Akron-​Peninsula Rd, in the plaza with the Rice Bowl and Noisy Oyster. Disgusting.

Review is for laundromat only. Usually don’t have to wait for either washers or dryers (even with the ever present out of order signs on one or more of them). It’s located right next to the dog wash, so it’s great to wash the doggie and wash heavy items in the commercial machines at the same time.

I have been a Nicole’s tanning customer for about one year now. I have also done my laundry there a few times, but it is not my preference for laundry due to the prices. There are good and bad things about the place, but I really like it for the following reasons:
1. Most of the patrons are adults, not obnoxious teeny-​boppers on the prowl for unnaturally tan men.
2. The staff is courteous, and Nicole is always willing to help if there is some kind of billing dispute or other problem.
3. The beds are always clean and well-​maintained. I have also only had to wait for a bed once or twice in my entire time patronizing this place.
4. There are always clean towels.
5. This is the only place in Akron that I know of where you can get ice cream/​coffee (though I wouldn’t due to the sketchy looks of that ice cream counter), get your nails done, do your laundry and tan all at the same location.
The only real complaint I have about the place is its pricing. A small, single load of laundry will often end up costing $ 10 or more here, Likewise, the tanning packages are a little crazily priced, though you can avoid this by loading up in December when they do their buy-​one, get-​one promotion, or by buying a lotion and getting a free month of tanning with it, which is also nice.
