I have tried more than 10 wines from Matt Smith’s Blacksmith Cellars and every one has been beautiful, well crafted, thoughtful and flat out delicious.

First– keep this private– don’t tell anyone! It’s an amazing cab– 2011 Oakville Cab. Knock your socks off. It’s worth at least twice what I paid. An amazing wine enters your mouth and an explosion of killer cab graces your palate. Full body awesome finish. Good luck finding it– but if you do-an amazing experience. I am trying to find a case.

Blacksmith is one of those hidden gems that everybody loves. So far, not that many people know about them, so I think it keeps the prices very reasonable. I’m stocking up my cellar now and already have a few years of the Cab waiting for me. Since I know they only make good quality wines, it has led me to try a few varietals that I don’t normally drink. I have been very pleasantly surprised with all of them. I really can’t say enough good things about Blacksmith. It’s worth the effort to find it!
