I got excited and signed up six months ago. Went twice the first month, but with my commute the hour they are open did not work for me. Curves advertises NOCONTRACT! I called and explained my situation and told them I would like them to stop charging my credit card. I was told to send a letter requesting the same. I sent the letter. I did not receive a reply. I realized yesterday(4 months later) that my credit card was still being charged. I called again. The person answering the phone told me that I should bring a letter in person. I did that today. NOTHAPPY!

This curves is a friendly and welcoming and wonderful place for women who are returning to or have never worked out. If you are afraid that everyone in the gym will have rippling abs and be wearing sports bras, you don’t have to worry about coming here. The work-out can be taken easy for beginners and, with the addition of the great videos available, can be made more strenuous when you are ready. It is readily accessible and appropriate for women of all ages and body types. The women who attend are friendly and inviting and will become part of your new social group. The best part of this Curves are our Curves Coaches. Debbie, Joyce and Christelle are wonderful. They cheer, encourage and gently correct. They motivate us and make sure that the effort we put in is going to give us the best possible results. They are wonderful. I would also like to point out that this Curves does a lot to support charities. We have supported St. Jude’s and the American Cancer Society through the Relay For Life of Alameda among others. We also participated in the Alameda 4th of July Parade. I applaud this business for participating in the community. In short, come on down, get moving, get social and maybe even get in shape! We would love to welcome you.

Dimond curves closed and I researched other curves. I loved the Alameda Curves. The staff and owner are wonderful. They are helpful, positive, and happy people. I look forward to it each day. They also have other classes and zumba.

Friendly, welcoming and clean were my first impressions when I joined Curves Alameda over four years ago and those impressions remain to be true now. In addition to their circuit machines, Curves Alameda also offers multiple video classes including Jillian Michaels and some excellent balance exercises which have been most helpful to me. The Zumba classes offered several times a week are fun with good space to move. And, Curves Alameda is now open to 7:30 pm Mondays through Thursdays which is so convenient for people like myself coming back from work in San Francisco. Curves Alameda offers a effective, upbeat and convenient fitness opportunity for which I am most grateful

I just came back to Curves after several years away. Having just gone to Hawaii for a quick family necessity, I discovered Curves in Manoa Valley and was able to attend three days of the four that I was in Hawaii. I love the fact that i find instant friends no matter what city I;m in. I called home to see what I needed to do and my personal trainer, Debbie, did all the work for me. I’m having fun participating in the Boot Camp. I love healthy competition. I also am happy to meet old and make new friends. It’s great to get a complete body workout in just thirty minutes.

I started going to curves about 4 years ago after I was recuperating from an injury to my foot and wanted to slowly work myself back to jogging. I had heard that this gym had equipment geared for strengthening muscles which were targeted for a womans body. Little did I know that there were also so many other benefits from this small and friendly gym. There is support from the people who work here, special programs to help loose weight easily, classes which are actually fun, and I have met some wonderful women who all seem to want to take the extra effort to improve themselves. I really feel like I found a second home here and have made some really good friends. Can’t recommend this place enough. Thanks Curves!

I have been coming to this curves for over 5 years now. I am not the type who usually sticks to an exercise program, and I originally joined due to the fact I was recuperating from a fractured bone on my foot. I figured that I would get some gentle exercise while I was recovering and then quit and go back to my normal jogging routine. But as I spent more time at curves, I realized that the machines(which are trademarked) were focused on strengthening the muscles most important to women, and that I got all the aerobics I needed between the circuit and the classes being offered and was feeling better than ever! I also met some wonderful friends with a common goal – those willing to make the effort to stay healthy and enjoy life to it’s fullest. The classes offered are also a lot of fun as well as being good workouts. Current classes include Zumba, Basic Body training, and an intensive 30 minute exercise program, The staff is really supportive which makes it great fun to come to this gym.

I picked this curves because they have such a great Unilocal page! Great pictures on here(which is important to me) and they are the real deal when it comes to what you see inside! Fun vibe most of the time and the female coaches are friendly and remember you. There are women of all ages, sizes, skin tones and personality types! It is hard to feel unwelcome here. The floors, machines, bathrooms, fitting room, stretching area, etc. are always spectacularly clean and inviting. You can be social while working out, or not, either way is acceptable. Music is usually pretty good too. I would highly recommend checking this Curves out, it is engaging and great for students(like me)! They have great student pricing that is similar or lower than many other bay area gyms. If you aren’t sure, just walk inside and take a look for yourself!
