I’m really disappointed with the management of appointments here. I finally got an appointment after months of trying, and the day before my scheduled appointment they have to reschedule because the dr. is sick. That is totally understandable, so I didn’t object when I was told to call back to schedule an appointment later.
So later finally rolls around, and I call to make another appointment and that was a success. Once again one day before my appointment I was told the dr. is having migraines again and she needs to cancel all her appointments, and I was told to call back again to schedule ANOTHER appointment.
So 3 months later when I remember I need to get my glasses replaced I call to make another appointment, and they don’t have availability for another month. I’m pissed because usually when providers cancel you appointments they offer you a new appointment right then or they’ll call you later to reschedule.
Now I try to call back to schedule an appointment, and they are over booked with no mercy on the person who’s been rescheduled twice. Looking forward to my appointment next month :-/.

I used to go here years ago. The receptionist made a mistake. I complained to Dr. Tlachac and she yelled at me.
I would never go here again.
I found a much better optometrist in Alameda

I was very impressed with Dr. Tlachac when I saw her last year. She ran through a number of tests other eye doctors hadn’t to test for eye diseases and such. Plus, she is on the faculty of the UC School of Optometry. The selection was very good and reasonably priced. And, they worked very well with my FSA account since I had to spend down my balance before I left my previous employer. I highly recommend Dr. Tlachac and Island Eyecare!

This place is the worst!
They screw up appointments. Give you a bill for the amount which you pay and then they come up with a different balance which they explain except that they sometimes make mistakes!
If you make mistakes on the bill how do we know you don’t make mistakes on the exam!
Save your eyes and steer clear of this place…
