It’s so good here, the lemon ricotta pancakes are exquisite!

I wish I could give them zero stars. I was so excited when a new breakfast place opened up near my house and I wanted them to succeed. Unfortunately I now find no reason to ever try this place again. The ONE time I was able to actually get served the food was mediocre at best. Since then I have tried multiple times to no avail to get a to go order. Here are the excuses I have heard — We aren’t doing to go, try again in a month Sorry but we turned off our grill an hour early and are no longer serving the menu We have a separate to go menu but it’s not out yet so we can’t take your order The one that has turned me away for good was today — I am sorry we have a wait list so we can’t take to go orders. Shame on me for trying to give this place a chance. Over priced and not friendly to the neighbors. No wonder they had to cut their hours way back. Save yourself a trip and find a place that cares about your business.

good service but food is just ehhhhhh. given that the place is fairly new, that would be the only reason I’d give it a second chance. needs a lot of improvement. order the chicken salad sandwich. where was the chicken? it was just a heavy dose of lettuce, tomato, and mayo. the bread was good tho. a friend ordered a burger and ask for medium but the center was raw. YIKES!

My friend and I found this little gem right in Alameda. Brunch is not as easy as it may seem, sometimes the food is just very mediocre. My friend and I had a pretty good experience here. The restaurant was packed but we were seated right away at the counter. Our waitress was very friendly and welcoming and brought us water right away. It came in a wide mouth mason jar. Points! I asked the waitress for a recommendation since I was debating between two choices. As per her opinion, I got the fried egg melt with garlic potatoes. And fresh OJ(that also came in a mason jar, Yay!) Good was very good and left me satisfied. What’s even better is that the counter had a clear view of the kitchen and staff prepping the food. It was entertaining to watch as we ate.

Yummy!!! Out of potatoes, which is okay since I don’t normally eat them… got grilled tomatoes instead! Love this fresh, made to order restaurant! It is so worth the wait! Be patient, people, especially if it is packed! And please allow the chef to take a potty break! He works really hard to get the orders out timely!!!

Food is amazing but they have absolutely no idea how to run a kitchen or manage service. After the burger was returned for being raw it took them 20 minutes to get the burger back out because«the cook went to the restroom.» This is the 4th trip and worst service yet. Very nice people for what it’s worth.

Excellent overall experience. Loved the lemon pancake and the open face egg melt. The coffee was great as well. The staff was super friendly and really sweet with our 18 month old. Will definitely be back!

Food was ok, but the wait was unbearable. Definitely not the wait. To top of the experience, I just checked my bank account today and they charged us twice. One amount without tip, one amount with tip. WTF? Future patrons, make sure to check your bank statements.

This place get pretty crowded fast. we came around 9.30 luckily able to get the table right away. The place is cozy and the server great us with the menu pretty fast. We ordered Lemon ricotta pancake(only so so nothing special) Egg Melt(yummy) and grilled cheese for the kiddo(pretty yummy) like other reviewers said the foods came out pretty late. The coffee here is pretty acidic like the french roast.

What started as a very excited trip to Feel Good Kitchen turned out to be a pretty sad experience for the three of us. We go there and it was pretty packed but the waitress said we’d get our food in 20 minutes. One of the key rules is never promise what you can’t deliver. I think we spent the next 40 minutes waiting on food and it was only until we started to complain that it was taking a while that things started to happen. The servers tried to let us know it was coming, but it was about 10 minutes before that actually happened. Food was okay, I think the burger my friend got looked pretty delicious, but my egg white omelette was not very good. Ultimately it’s a pricey breakfast option that you can pass over for another place around the area… you can definitely pass over the long wait.

Breakfast/Brunch/Lunch spot… very cozy little bar with a few tables. I’ve had the waffles, corned beef hash with eggs and it’s all prepared well and tastes well seasoned. Open kitchen so you can see what they’re cooking. Good weekend spot.

What I ate: Eggs benedict, lemon ricotta pancakes, chocolate milk Visit date: December 14, 2014 First time? Yes. Um, I need to go here again. My five-star review might be a little premature since I’ve only been here once, but Feel Good Kitchen’s eggs benedict blew my mind! It honestly was the best eggs benedict I’ve ever had. The eggs were soft poached to perfection, the hollandaise was salty with a nice acidity, the ham tender and juicy. The roasted potatoes paired wonderfully with the eggs benedict. They were salty and hearty, crisp on the outside, but fluffy and warm on the inside. I usually cannot eat a full place of eggs benedict, let alone all of the potatoes on my plate, but I did today. History was made. I just couldn’t stop eating my dish! I got stuffed on eggs benedict so much that I barely had any room for the lemon ricotta pancakes, but I had to at least try it so I had one bite and it was heaven in my mouth. The house syrup enhanced the lemonny flavor, too. Make sure to dip away! After a couple of hours, I had to pass out and take a nap, but when I woke up I feasted on the pancakes and syrup. Yum! I have dreams about my meal here. Note that my chocolate milk was on the bitter side. We also had a free pizza appetizer which was far from good. My five stars is based solely on the magical eggs benedict and lemon ricotta pancakes.

Food was excellent but the service sucked. The waiter who sat me down and took my order went to lunch. There was a poor lady that was taking care of everyone while the other takes his lunch outside on his laptop. I was hungry and I didn’t care but I had no napkin and no utensils to eat my salad with my sandwich. No water refills were offered during my stay there too but the waitress that was working her ass off did ask if I was okay at the end of my meal.

My favorite bakery in Alameda has expanded and opened a café! Located inside a small plaza with free parking. A few outdoor tables for a nice day out. I prefer sitting at the counter watching my food get made and dangling my legs on the high chairs. There are quite a few tables as well if that is more to your liking. The cooks are friendly and amusing. Waitstaff is enthusiastic and attentive. They serve selected baked goods from their bakery and brew coffee that is locally made in Oakland. Food menu is pretty small so not great for the picky eater but the food is delicious so give it a try! Also, ask for daily specials — my recent visit they had Gruyère Mac & Cheese with housemade breadcrumbs. Yums!!! I think even though this location is a bit obscure, it is probably a wise choice to get away from the hustle and bustle of Park Street. TIP: Coffee is $ 2.50 but they offer refills so you will definitely leave caffeinated and happy. I will certainly continue to support this local eatery :]

Rumor has it that Feel Good Kitchen is THE place for brunch in Alameda. The staff here are super polite, respectful, and maybe even borderline submissive. but nonetheless very attentive and sweet. On our first try, we went in last Saturday around noon only to realize that brunch was served up until 11:30am. So FYI, the waitress advised us to call ahead to confirm tentative brunch/lunch hours, with the exception of Sundays which will always serve brunch until they close at 2pm. Unimpressed with the lunch menu, we decided to come back the next day. Sunday! Despite such limited seating, we only had to wait a few minutes to get a tiny table for two. Having a small menu means they can specialize on perfecting a few dishes, but also gives you even less options to choose from when they run out of items. Sadly, the popular monte cristo sandwich was sold out, so we settled for the fried egg melt, belgium waffle, and a lemon ricotta pancake. It may be a fault on my part for having high expectations for the belgium waffle, which was indistinguishable from any other waffle I’ve had in the past. It was everything a waffle should be(soft and fluffy) but nothing more(other than being $ 7), and the apple cinnamon syrup that I requested for it was excessively sweet. Likewise, at $ 3 a piece, the lemon pancake was also nothing special. The berry jam/sauce was pretty tasty but also too sweet when overdone. Lastly, the fried egg melt($ 10) had a good amount of avocado and was the most satisfying item we ordered, but it was very messy to eat. Ultimately, it was the friendly staff that made me feel good, not the food.

Feel Good Kitchen is a solid addition to the Alameda food scene. I appreciate the fact that it’s not on Park Street, where I have to fight tooth and nail for parking. I’m a fan of Feel Good Bakery, so I was extremely excited when the«now open» signs appeared in the window! I came here last week with my brother and we ordered the eggs Benedict($ 10), one lemon pancake($ 3), and the monte cristo sandwich(around $ 10). The eggs benny came with a side of rosemary home fries. The eggs Benny were very delicious! Eggs were perfectly poached and every ingredient was fresh. The English muffins retained their shape and did not get soggy from the hollandaise sauce. I believe the muffins are freshly baked by their bakery as well. The home fries that the dish came with left much to be desired, however, as they were burnt and I did not detect any rosemary taste at all. I did not mind too much since the home fries came with the dish, but I do not recommend ordering them on their own. The monte cristo sandwich was yummy! French toast bread encasing ham and cheese cut perfectly into four little squares. The maple syrup accompanied this dish well. The lemon pancake was good with a strong lemon taste, but not as fluffy as I like my pancakes to be. I probably would not order this again. The total bill was reasonable for the food that we ordered since everything was so fresh. If what you like is fresh, no-frills brunch food with good service(with no stupidly long waits), then I suggest you try Feel Good Kitchen! I also got a salted caramel macaron on my way out($ 2) but I’ve had better.

Feel Good Kitchen is an extension of Feel Good Bakery, it seems. just a single shelf of baked goods available. passed since i was really hungry. menu: waffles, salads, sandwiches at a quick glance. near 2, didn’t see breakfast menu pour: bicycle coffee(2.5) –kind of weak, tasted better when it cooled down. eats: mary’s chicken salad sandwich with tomato, chicken, pickled shallots, argula, on pumpernickel bread. –side of mixed green salad with vinegarette. tasty all around. 3.5 stars crumbs: –seems it took 10 minutes when few people around –food assembled in back out of sight just saying, no blaming –wish there was more offerings… –prompt friendly service. –presently opens till 2 p.m.
