This place is unique. It is actually a home with their garden but they turn it to a coffee shop. The coffee is great with the garden setting in the back make it perfect. Is so relaxing and making the taste of the coffee 10 times better. Love their lavender lattee

My father and I went to Julie’s this past weekend to enjoy some coffee, a nibble, and a quiet place to play some card games. The weather was perfect, so we sat outside on the patio. We ordered a choco-chai(yum!) and an iced coffee, plus the walnut-lentil pâté and a slice of their quiche of the day. Both dishes were delicious — Dad & I joked that we had trouble sharing! The ambiance was really lovely, and even though there was a baby shower happening in one area of the patio, the space was large enough that party + maybe 8 – 10 additional customers still didn’t feel crowded. I’d been here before, but not in a long time. I hope to not wait so long between visits from now on!

Super cute place to spend the day on your computer. They even have an outdoor area with some available plugs! Food is delicious, lots of veggie and vegan options. Sugar thumbprint cookie super good! Had a corn, zucchini, coconut chowder and a cheddar biscuit for lunch that was out of this world. Residential street parking with no hour limit a few blocks away. A little on the pricey side, but when I want to indulge I’ll treat myself here :) Also, great music and plenty of room to spread out and not feel rushed.

I had my bridal shower here today and everything was absolutely perfect! The food was delicious and the tea and mimosas were fantastic! The garden patio was such a beautiful and serene setting, and the service was friendly and on point. We were all so happy. Thanks, Julie’s!

This is my go-to coffee place for meeting friends or putting on headphones and getting work done. I love the coffee and food here. This is a great place to be comfortable with nice outdoor seating out back.

Cute little spot on park street. Does it look like much from the street but definitely worth a visit. Great loose tea selection! Had a latte, delicious and hot. Some of these coffee spots serve lukewarm lattes… for shame. Sat in the garden out back. Very quiet and relaxing. Love the no talking on cell phone rule.

This unassuming store front café is actually a really nice place. There is plenty of inside seating but the back patio is the best place to be! It’s very tranquil and quiet back there. The staff seems friendly and happy to be working there. I only had a cup of tea during my visit so I can’t comment on the food. I’m sure I’ll be back as I can walk to Julie’s!

Such a wonderful variety of teas. Some very esoteric ones like Vanilla Mint Pu-erh and Ginger Pu-erh. They brought me a wonderful tea service that I could bask over for a couple of hours. I had the most delicious homemade rhubarb pie, as well. The other desserts looked really good. Very friendly, helpful wait staff. They also have a large selection of loose teas plus tea pots and mugs, etc for sale. I’m also impressed that they turn OFF the WiFi from 8am-2pm on Saturday and Sunday to promote digital detox. Plenty of tables inside and out. I’m DEFINITELY coming back!

I absolutely LOVE this place! It’s a great place to have a quiet lunch or even take a date. I had the sweet potato quiche with thyme. It was the best quiche I’ve ever had. They only use quality ingredients and it shows. The shop is small, but charming.

Great teas!!! My go to drink here is the Matcha Green Tea Latte made with Oatmilk. It is delicious along with tons of benefits. Every once in awhile I’ll get the Rosemary Mint Tea Cooler. Not only is it refreshing but they garnish the tea with a Rosemary sprig which gives the drink a nice touch. Yum! Can’t forget to mention their staff here is friendly and super helpful!

Great little place, love the back garden! Super unique to have a breakfast or lunch back there :) I love all of their drinks, the tea selection is excellent. The pastries are a bit health conscious for my taste [ha-ha] but it’s a vegan-like selection so I really couldn’t complain; it’s just foreign to me. Hope to come back into town again soon and visit.

I go out of my way to think of errands in Alameda so I can have lunch at Julie’s. Why do I love thee? Let me count the ways. Quiche is one of the best I’ve had. Garden is so peaceful, I can read a book and feel hundreds of miles from urban life. Cookies and baked goods are fresh and good. Garden, part 2. No cell phones. Fancy drinks. Worth the splurge. We’ve tried to recreate them at home, but we regularly need to go back to the source. Garden, part 3. What can I do to recreate the garden at home? It always manages to be sunny back there. Décor includes big, potted plants, a mix of whimsy, vintage charm, and meditation sanctuary.

Stopped by to get a coffee and fell in love with the place. — Got a lavender latte. So delicious and they weren’t subtle about the lavender which I liked. If you’re gonna put it in the name it better not be just a hint of flavor. — Lots of tables and chairs, a very inviting spot. You can easily bring a group here. — Very easy to sit and do work or study. They have wifi. — Lots of outside patio chiars. Looks very cosy. — They have a simple menu with pastries sandwiches and eggs. I have not tried anything yet but I plan on coming back. They have an amazing selection of tea. Something that I really liked were the tiny 1−2oz bags of tea that they would sell for $ 1 – 2 in the basket. Its a great way to try a new flavor before committing to a large amount of loose leaf. I love tea but I don’t drink it enough to buy a large amount.

I got their tonic lattes, both vitality and clarity. To be frank, I couldn’t really taste the tea that well. I don’t know if it’s because I got it with soy milk and the taste of soy milk might have overpowered the tea. Clarity — all I could taste was the cinnamon. Vitality — it had this lingering bitter taste. We sat in the patio and loved the ambience. But drinks wise, I should’ve tried something else(maybe the matcha latte?) I just thought I would give the tonic lattes a try because it was a house special but I didn’t fall in love with any of them.

Julie’s is one of those coffee shops that’s just so cute that you wanna hug it and squeeze it and never let go. Like the teddy bear of coffee shops. Stuffed inside isn’t cotton though. Instead, you’ve got yourself some great coffee/tea, an amazing staff, and of course, the hallmark of every good coffee shop in dependable wifi. Julie’s isn’t the biggest place in the world, but they have more than enough tables and chairs for ample seating. Definitely a place you want to get to early though, because it does get kinda packed at times. Of course if you’re just grabbing and going this doesn’t matter much, but if you’re actually trying to story or get work done, tables are limited. Drinks I had were definitely pretty solid. My latte was exactly that, and well made as well. I tried my friends green tea drink and I actually really enjoyed it and it made me wish I had gotten it for myself instead. Lots of matcha green tea flavor. Julie’s is definitely a solid spot to be at in Alameda. I might just become a local fixture here!

Another fun little community spot in Alameda, popular with locals and whatnot. They have a fairly diverse menu, ranging from coffees to teas to alcoholic beverages, and a small little food menu as well. I ended up trying the Mexican hot chocolate, which, while a fun menu addition, was a little flavorless, unfortunately. It’s worth trying out again, though!

Julie’s is the first spot I came to when I was visiting Alameda/the Bay Area and preparing to move to Norcal from Socal. You know when you’re transitioning and trying to find places in your new area that feel very you that you can see yourself visiting? And it helps to make the transition a little less scary? That’s exactly how I felt about Julie’s. It was the first«my» spot in the East Bay and has quickly become a coffee or wine refuge for me when I’m stressed or need to get some work done. I stumbled across it when trying to meet a friend for coffee. I turned to Unilocal and Unilocal said Julie’s was by far the best coffee and tea place on Alameda. I showed up extremely stressed, but something about the vibe and the amazingly kind lady working the front counter just made me feel better about life. She patiently talked me through all of the menu items — I ended up getting some white wine and baked egg. I’ve been back probably 4 or 5 times now and every time the people at the front counter have been so sweet. The baked egg was amazing. It takes a few minutes to make but they warn you about that. I also have had their tuna salad and curry soup. And paleo cookies. All are amazing!!! Lots of fresh flavor. Most of all, I love being able to go there for wine or coffee. There are a lot of places in Europe like this but I haven’t seen as many in California. It’s the kind of place you can hang out all day, drinking coffee and working then having a glass of wine and bite to eat to top off your productivity. I also LOVE the back patio. Very relaxing. All in all, I’m a big Julie’s fan. I intend on being a loyal customer when I move.

I like this place a lot. I wish it was open later but I understand that it needs to close sometime. Their teas are the best on the island — you can even buy loose leaf tea ingredients per weight like ginger, turmeric, chamomile, etc. upon etc. Their own drinks are invigorating and energetic without the crap other typical places like Starbucks and Peetes put in their stuff. They have healthy food options as well — vegan mostly I believe, you can’t find too many places nearby like this. Their prices are a little high and the amount of food is not huge per item but at least there is energetic value in them since they have truly healthy ingredients. Stop by and enjoy a cup of tea and a snack sometime, your stomach will thank you for it :)
