This little unassuming shop embodies the essence of Alameda. If you’re a local you know what I’m talking about. Laid back, friendly, cool, with just enough of that Alameda quirky funkiness, with lots of vintage/retro/tiki love. So roll up on your beach cruiser, buy a little something fun for that collection of yours, then head on down the street and down a few at Forbidden Island.

* 3.5 stars * But I rounded up because these guys deserve it. Cool, cute little store housing a small plethora of interesting & fun gifts, clothing accessories, and music. Anyone into punk, rockabilly, horror-anything, tiki-anything, thrift stores, movies, or pretty much anything FUN should swing by this place and have a looksie around. (Of course I wish the place was a little bigger, I’m personally not the biggest fan of tiki stuffs, & the prices could be a teenie bit lower hence the not 5 stars but instead 3.5−4). Nice service too.

This place is full of kitchy gems. A must visit for anyone with a quirky sense of humor and an eye for tiki-vegas-alien-like doohikies.

Great little tiki & retro stuff store. Small, so the selection is limited, but where else can you find old aloha shirts and new tiki mugs in any quantity? And it’s close to Forbidden Island, so you always have a place to wear all the cool stuff you buy here.

This is a fun little shop with various tiki/tropical knick-knacks and other delightfully unnecessary things that you MUST have. I gots to get me a couple new Hawaiian shirts and they has ‘em! You’re bound to find something to take home with you. :) ADDENDUM: It has come to my attention that this shop is now gone. :(

Best place ever! Unique stuff you can’t find anywhere else and pretty inexpensive too.

Cute little retro-tiki-tchotchke boutique down the block from Forbidden Island. There’s a rack of great Hawaiian shirts just waiting for summer.
