Franklin Park

This is a great park for your toddlers. This is the first park I’ve seen an actual Merry Go Round at in years. My tots loved playing here!

Nice field to play baseball or soccer !

Probably the best park in Alameda if you have kids. There is a nice playground area with swings, a sandbox, and different play structures for younger and older kids. I believe there are also basketball, and tennis courts.

This lil park is in a safe lil neighborhood where you dont have to worry about any suspicious people. Theeres too play structures one lil kid one and a big kid one. In my opinon the structures are a lil bit boring for maybe your more adventurous kids but other than it its a safe and fun for the lil ones. Theres swings too baby swings and normal ones. May i not forget the spinney merry go round there its a hit and cant find in any other alameda park. there also a pool whicch i have mebership too and love:)

Ever since they remodeled this park it seemed to get more crowed and theres no shade. well i liked the original park it had shade in the play area and it was more fun, more swings. bigger merry go round that went faster, there were also tubes too for the «clubhouses’ for little kids. I remember having my 4^th bday here when the park was its original structure. But i guess they wanted safety improvements so they made a plastic structure boo hoo:(and the merry go round got smaller and there are only 4 swings. and theres only shade in the picnic area.
I know kids neeed to be safe and I kinda grew out of the park phase but i still miss the old franklin park. but if the park now is sa big hit then i shouldn’t protest trying to shut this place down.

Franklin Park is one of the reasons why my husband and I bought our house. (We live around the corner.) It’s a safe, self-​contained world where toddlers can climb, run around and get some fresh air. Older kids can play tennis, basketball, baseball or soccer, and parents often indulge in idle chit chat while chasing/​watching/​referee-​ing their kids.
I am also impressed with the park maintenance crew. Every morning when I walk my dogs, I see a lady tending the flowers, raking leaves, and/​or edging the lawns. Usually people complain and wonder where our tax dollars go, but Frankln Park is worth every penny.

All in all it’s a great park. The most cleanest park I’ve been too, will be coming here often with my infant!

A small, but beautiful park surrounded by a lot of beautiful, older homes. A very Leave It To Beaver sort of feel. Lots of huge, mature trees, a baseball field, kids play structure, tennis courts, basketball courts, and a nice co-​op swimming pool.
A very 1950’s feel to the place, and very nicely maintained.

Lots of kids. What a great park! Lots of room for all kids and it has some pretty cool slides.

This park is clean, tidy, safe and the kids love it.
Has restrooms and a working water fountain.
The grass is manicured, the flowers are pretty, there is a tennis court, a baseball field, the basketball hoop, and a pool.
Of course the playground and the marry go round that the kids ride til they get sick.

I grew up across the street from this park. Its a great park in a great neighborhood. Every time I fell out of a tree and got a concussion medical help soon arrived. I even got a trip to Alameda hospital when I broke my leg playing tackle football. The park has 2 tennis courts, a baseball field, basketball court, fenced in playground, recreation building and picnic area. You need to join an association to use the pool that’s next to the Park. Bottom line: If i didn’t have to commute for an hour I would buy a house in this neighborhood just so my kid could play at Franklin Park.

Very well kept park, it’s inviting to those who don’t mind hangin out with their little ones without worrying about cleanleness and safety. It’s the same park I grew up at and I’m glad it’s still here for my kids to enjoy. A great quiet park to enjoy a picnic on the grass outside of the playground area.

I love this park. You can park right next to the playground area. There is a fence with a gate so that no small people escape. The park is probably the cleanest in Alameda.
