Le Du Salon

My mom introduced me to Rosa about 7 years ago and I have never turned back. I would not dream of ever letting anyone else cut my hair. I use to go to pricey salons in SF but they never made my hair look as good as Rosa does. She is also a whiz with waxing. My eyebrows have never looked better! Rosa is very personable and really cares about her clients. Her prices are reasonable, her products are top of the line and I always look forward to seeing Rosa. She is not just someone who cuts my hair; I consider a Rosa a friend. If you want a great hair dresser who knows hair and hair products then Rosa is your gal.

I came to Rosa’s salon after years of being frustrated and letting my hair go or cutting it myself! I was so pleasantly surprised at her lovely little salon, then she cut and styled my curly hair and VOILA! She really knows how to cut and style and so now my daughter, 12, is getting her hair done with Rosa. My daughter also loves her, and she does color very well. We love the personal attention, expertise and comfort of Le Du Salon and Rosa is a great stylist. Highly recommended!

Rosa is great, she listened and studied the pictures I showed her and suggested a compromise to not cut my hair as drastically short as I asked. She seemed to know how I would actually want my hair more than I did! She was totally right about me cutting my hair so short and I was glad she gave me her input. I gave her some creative freedom based on the pictures and she did a great job creating a super cute, asymmetrical haircut. It’s been growing out nicely and I still like it a lot. She gave me exactly what I asked for: cute, short and something I can air dry. She also made sure that I left happy and did not take it personally that I wanted certain parts shorter. She also offered to give me a free trim in the back if it grew out too long.
She is appointment only since she’s has her own business and it’s only one client at a time. If I wasn’t so cheap, I’d go back without the Living Social deal!

Rosa does hair like nobody’s business. I am fanatically picky about my hair, and, like most people I know, this is one of our most important accessories we wear everyday. She is so friendly, and sweet no arrogance. The salon is beautifully decorated and very bright, comfortable and nicely appointed. Most importantly, she know her stuff about color and highlights and I trust her and don’t feel like I need to be wary of what she’s doing to my hair. A fantastic stylist is even better than a great OBGYN, right?
I so appreciate Rosa because:
She is affordable! I have long, course hair and was paying upwards of $ 200 just for color every 5 weeks, she doesn’t charge nearly that,…so being affordable is important to me.
When I ask for a trim, she doesn’t cut off 3 inches.
I LOVE my clor and highlights, and when she adds the celophane to seal in the color, my hair is super shiny and brillant during the entire 5 weeks until I see her again
She uses Moroccan products which are FABULOUS, especially the oil, it’s worth the 49.00, believe me. My chemically treated hair is now in better shape than it has ever been in and I am more confident about it because it looks so much healthier… every one I know notices, even my husband.
She’s not a gossip or trash-talker…there’s nothing worse than sitting in a chair captive for 2 hours listening to someone spill the horror of their life or someone elses.
There are so many choices in the Bay Area for stylists, Rosa at Le Du is a must try!

Le Du is a secret unknown gem in lovely Alameda. Rosa, the proprietor, puts Vidal Sasson stylists to shame! I have been following Rosa all over the East Bay for the last seventeen years. The salon is comfortable and was decorated by Rosa, herself. This extremely talented and creative owner is a total pro! Don’t waste your money and time elsewhere. Le Du Salon is the best place for a professional haircut/​color, etc. You won’t be disappointed, and say «Hi» to Rosa for me.

I highly recommend Le Du’ Salon. I have been seeing Rosa for a long time now and have never been disappointed. She does a great job with color and cuts.
Her new location is great and she has done an amazing job of decorating it and making it cozy. There is plenty of street parking and it is right down the block from Park Street shopping and restaurants.
