So I locked myself out of my house and needed to call a locksmith. I was quoted a price over the phone of $ 35 for travel and an additional $ 35-$ 50 for the repair depending on difficulty of the job. No problem. After the technician lets me in to my house, he says that the price is over $ 300 and eventually comes down a bit in price but still well over double of what I expected to pay. At that point you would think the adventure would be over, but then in running my credit card the office tells the technician that it was declined. I check my acct on my phone and have more than enough available balance, but I give them another card anyway. Then that card is declined. It wasn’t until after the tech told the office that I didn’t have cash on me that it was in fact actually approved. Sketch. The technician was nice and did his job, but I called the office after he left and the woman that I spoke to initially claimed that she never quoted me a price, just an «initial fee». She wasn’t exactly rude but it was my word against hers and she wasn’t budging. The worst part about it is that I probably would have been ok with the price had I known that it was going to be anywhere near that much(I still would have called around but if it was a fair price I would have been fine with it). My issue is the bait and switch. Would recommend the technician but not the company. Unfortunate because I was in the market for a new chip car key and would have gladly given them the business if they handled the situation better.
