The combo meal is a great deal, one of the best values in town. Food is really good, and you can’t bear $ 2 beers.

This place is our go to delivery Thai place. Food is great, and delivery is always fast. Food always tastes fresh, but most importantly the delivery guy is always friendly and polite, and the food is packaged very clean and leak free. Important for a place with curries and soups. Can’t beat the price for the quality either, I highly recommend Monkey Thai!

Great service, price, taste. Lots of parking. See my pictures for deals. The combos start at $ 9.45 now. Only bad thing that the rest rooms are outside at the back.

Every time we come I get the yellow curry fried rice, it has amazing flavor and the chicken wings are always perfectly cooked. So bomb. Unfortunately, every single other item that my boyfriend and his family have tried(except for the drunken noodles) have either been meh or not even worth finishing. Oh well, I will keep insisting on coming back for my favorite dish, and hopefully we will find another menu item that lives up to it.

3rd time here… no disappointments! Salad, appetizer, entrée(good portion), rice and a drink for under $ 10! Can’t complain. Will definitely be coming back for more. I recommend the drunken noodles w/beef if you’re a first timer.

I’ve decided to update my review since Monkey Thai is under new ownership. The price of the combo meal had gone up and you no longer get a discount for paying with cash, but you still get a large portion for what you’re paying for. Being able to choose an appetizer, main dish, drink, and get a small salad as well is a really good deal and maybe one of the best on the island! Although sometimes the flat noodles may be a little bland, what makes up for it are the egg rolls and the Thai ice tea. Their Thai ice tea alone would make me come back. If you like condensed milk, their Thai tea gives a good helping of it without being too overly sweet. This is a cheaper but quality Thai tea and considering I live closer to Tea Delight which I can walk to, that says something right there. Their tables are still clean and the restaurant is well lit. Generally there’s always parking in the private lot in front of their restaurant. Don’t be thrown off by the metal bars on the donut shop next door. This is a place you should try especially if you want a large portion meal that isn’t cheap Asian buffet-like(greasy and cold) for an excellent price.

Needed some late night dinner food and decided to Unilocal places. This restaurant was really close by and we noticed that we can make an online order and get a discount so we decided to try it out. We ended up ordering pad thai and green curry online. We waited about 20 minutes before picking up our food. The location of this place is really easy to find. It’s just located at the corner of a block near a doughnut shop. There a nice parking out for the place, so we didn’t have to worry about finding parking. We walked in a told them our name and easily paid for our food and left. Got home with our food. The pad thai was good. I like my pad thai pretty sour so the one lime given wasn’t enough. We just cut some extras and added them ourselves. The green curry came with a box of rice, but we also made some extra rice for ourselves. It was delicious. It had the right about of spice! The broccoli and green bell peppers were a little too soft for my liking, but I wouldn’t mind ordering it again. I would definitely come back if I was craving some Thai and needed a close place to go to.

When«checking in» on Unilocal,no more, free dessert. :(They have free wine or beer instead now. My boyfriend & I get take out every now & then, instead of dining in & I love how they bag everything. Especially, for the Thai ice tea; they make sure it’s totally sealed for delivery. You would still have to call in for ordering the combo meals. That option is not on Eat24. Still my «go to» place when wanting cheap, yet very yummy Thai food in Alameda. :)

We got the pork laap and a combo meal with the chicken fried wontons as appetizers. The food was really good. We loved the pad Thai and the chicken laap. But then came the chicken wonton. My first bite into the chicken was slimy. I spit it out and the meat was completely raw! They first offered to give me a replacement, which I declined. So, they did take off 10% off the bill. But my entire mood was ruined. Currently, at eight months pregnant — the last thing I want is to get salmonella and food poisoning! I’m sorry, but I’m not coming back!

Simply put, this is my single favorite«go to» restraint on the island. Their food is tasty, fresh, the portions are large, and you get great value, especially with their new combo specials. Delivery is just the final touch to round it out. I recommend the pad Thai and the green curry.

3 Questions 1) How does raw chicken get served in a deep fried Won Ton? 2) How come the staff reacted with the same level of regret as if they had given me brown rice instead of white when I informed them the chicken was raw? 3) Why are they serving fried Won Tons(came with combo meal) at a Thai restaurant in the 1st place? I like supporting local small businesses but don’t want to risk food poisoning to do so. Mistakes happen but humor me and pretend you care.

Monkey Thai offers great food at an affordable price. The combo includes an appetizer, entrée, and drink for $ 10-$ 13, depending on choice of meat. My son has many allergies, and the staff was very knowledgeable about what ingredients are used in each entrée, therefore guiding me to the appropriate dishes. We had no sign of a breakout, so I am extra happy with this place! And the food was delicious.

Eh it’s not the best Thai food. It’s cheap and deliver is free and fast. What I ordered Chicken Pad Thai — like other reviews it was greasy and it felt like it was missing something, maybe it needed more fish sauce? I’m not sure but it was also super sweet. I was expecting more spice but it was okay for the price. Chicken Pad Se Ew — greasy, broccoli tasted like msg. Chicken was kind of tough. Tasted more like Chinese chow fun instead of Thai pad se ew. It was okay not the best. Garlic Noodles — delicious! I enjoyed this. Just enough garlic and butter and vegetables were cooked perfectly. Not enough chicken but it was still really good. I would order again. Free Thai Coffee — yum! Not too sweet which I love!

I love Thai food. So much so I gain weight every time I go to Thailand, since I basically can’t stop eating while I’m there. I do understand the concept of «Americanization» of food — and do expect Thai food eaten in the US to be 100% genuine, much like I don’t expect that from any«ethnic» cuisine(i.e., same thing that happens with Chinese-American food or Indian-British food). BUT — the fundamental principle of Thai food — what makes it, in my opinion, the best cuisine on the Planet — is, as chef David Thompson puts it: «Thai food ain’t about simplicity. It’s about the juggling of disparate elements to create a harmonious finish. Like a complex musical chord it’s got to have a smooth surface but it doesn’t matter what’s happening underneath. Simplicity isn’t the dictum here, at all. Some westerners think it’s a jumble of flavours, but to a Thai that’s important, it’s the complexity they delight in.». Why do I bring this up? Well… The problem with the«Thai» food from Monkey Thai is that apparently for them«Americanizing» means: sweet, sweet, sweet and more sweet; everything we ordered was basically one note: sweet. Although I’m sure some folks will love that — especially those westerners David Thompson refers to, that think Thai food is a «jumble of flavors» — I, for one, do not. Bring me some harmoniously jumbled flavors please. Not a pile of sugar. Or don’t call it Thai, OK?

Found my new favorite thai place in Alameda! Pros: –Plenty of parking, you don’t have to worry about parking unlike those other places on park street –Combo meals are a great value: choose your appetizer, entrée, drink, and side salad for under 10 bucks –Fresh food and fast service, I came around dinner time, and they were super fast and friendly –Clean tables, enough said Cons: –actual food isn’t the best thai I’ve had, but the service and price easily make up for it I’ll definitely be back here again for the monkey combos! Also, I also heard they deliver to anywhere on the island for free.

This place really nailed it with the $ 9 special that comes with a drink like Thai Iced Tea, salad, appetizer, and entrée. The meal was fresh and flavorful, the ingredients were cooked well. I got the Pad Kee Mow which was excellent, loaded with basil and not oily. My dad got the Spicy Eggplant and my mom the Pad Thai, both were equally good. This is a wonderful restaurant, a hidden gem!

I had just charged up my Ankle Bracelet and it was hot as a pistol. I felt like Thai food, so I jumped into my Whip and Cruised to A-Town . Monkey Thai is located on the Westside of A-town — the Roughneck side lol. They are located in an Older Stripmall. Plenty of Parking . I rolled in and was greeted and seated and presented a Menu. I think the Best Bang for your Buck is the Combo meal deal. The Combo Deal I ordered was the 2 Spring Rolls, Seafood Pad Thai, Salad, and a Thai Ice Tea . I also ordered the Thai Sausage Appetizer . My Salad was ok but some of the Lettuce was still a little frozen . The Thai Sausage was good and had a really good flavor. Portion size was good . The Thai Ice Tea was Yummy I could drink a dozen of those lol. The Spring Rolls were Vegetable ones and were nice and Crisp . The Pad Thai was a nice sized Portion . It had fresh Seafood mixed in it. Very Tasty . I also ordered the Fried Banana and Ice Cream Dessert. It was Yummy. I like Monkey Thai its a low key place . There is a Large Fish Tank, and LCD Tv for entertainment. I will definitely eat at Monkey Thai again.

This place is YUMMY! Located at the end of Ralph Apezzato Way after exiting the Webster tube. Reasonably priced combo plates served all day. 1) Appetizer — pot sticker or eggroll(2 pieces) 2) Order your entrée 3) Pick a protein — chicken, pork, shrimp, tofu 4) Rice — white or brown 5) Choose a drink — thai iced tea, coffee, soft drink All for under $ 11 accompanied with a green salad! So far, the faves are: * Basil chicken * Masaman Curry — medium red curry with carrots, potato, chicken — great flavor and consistency(aka not watered down and thin!) * Pad Seew — wide rice noodle, pan fried. similiar to a chow fun * Pad Thai — it was ok and overly sweet for me but definitely try! Extremely generous portions! If you’re looking for ambiance, this place isn’t it. Just simple, delicious, reasonably priced Thai food in a little(run down) strip mall. Next to Hometown Donut and Liquor Store. :) Staff very friendly and helps you pick your items and explains if you don’t know the differences between the curries. Great place and will definitely return! Lunch time gets really busy after 12pm. so if you’re taking it to go, call it in!
