I’ve been coming to this place for at least 10 years(since before it changed owners) and I’ve been a fan for a while now. I love their sticky rice and their vegan curries are amazing. I highly recommend their pineapple fried rice. I would warn any people ordering delivery that though they do say they deliver Thai iced tea, they in fact do not. I’ve asked for it a few times now and even though the person taking my order charges me for the tea, the delivery person never brings it. Overall, this is one of the most decently priced Thai placed in the Oakland-Alameda area and definitely one of the best.

I’m so glad an unpretentious little mom and pop with inexpensive(c’mon $ 2.50 happy hour Singha beer every day) place like this can still open and hopefully thrive on Webster. There are at least a dozen Thai places in Alameda, and the trend for newer places(ahem King of Thai Noodle) is to go for some already passé industrial chic with prices necessitated by remodeling. This place still has xmas lights in June. But what really matters here is freaking yummy curries, noodles, and lovely, tear inducing Thai spicy(if you ask for it) stir frys. Hands down our favorite newish Thai place in Alameda.

The price of almost everything on their menu recently went up by $ 1/item — a significant increase for some things. Their minimum delivery rate has also increased from $ 15 to $ 20. Honestly, we would rather pay a small delivery fee than have to order food that will likely go to waste. The last time we ordered food, the quality wasn’t great. The crispy fried chicken was tough and overly greasy. The wraps on the spring rolls were coming apart and they used bruised /old avocados in the rolls. It definitely wasn’t up to the quality we’re used to. The chill driver they used to have seems to be gone. The new driver actually came back to our home after delivering food one evening to badger us about a tip — an honest mistake on our part for not making sure it was added to the order(we usually add a decent tip). As long-time customers, we found this rather rude. While we used to order delivery from them one to two times a week, we find ourselves ordering from them less and trying other restaurants in the area after these changes.

Meh would be the perfect word to describe this place… It started off bad from the moment I placed my order. After I told the waitress that I wanted to try the Pad See Ew, she never asked me how hot I would like it. I ended up having to ask her if they do a star system or just have a standard that they assume you want it at. She ended up explaining I can order it mild, hot, spicy, or thai spicy.(what would they have gave me if I hadn’t have asked? I thought it was Up 2Me…) If I ever go back, I will definitely get thai spicy because the spicy was not spicy at all. The portions were on the smaller side and the pad see ew had very little flavor. This is the first Thai restaurant I’ve tried since I moved down to the Bay so I don’t have much to compare it to. I don’t think I’ll be returning to Pad See Ew

I love this place. They always delivery… LITERALLY. Never been disappointed. I love all the options they have too! I have eaten there, picked up and had delivered. Their food is delicious and offer great customer service. One night I ordered for myself and a friend at 845ish… cutting it close. They close at 930pm… He delivered at 926! Thank you! I feel like most places would’ve just cancelled on me!

Okay food but the delivery service is so unreliable. I hate tipping people who don’t bring what I ask(i.e., simple things like napkins or chopsticks). And as soon as the bag is thrusted at you, the guy tries to drive off super fast before you can check the bag, which is 90% likely to be empty except for food. Possibly not even the food you ordered! Then, after the twentieth time of tipping for no reason, and I decide not to tip automatically and have cash on hand if they bring my things, and(surprising no one) the same guy shows up with nothing but my food in the bag, I tell him politely the situation, only to have him yell at me and rant and rave about how«it’s not his fault.» Uhm, you’re a representative of the restaurant and therefore, you are responsible for the service, and you do not deserve a reward for lack thereof. Plus, nobody likes being yelled at.

Decent food, but an unfortunate combination of events that led to horrible service for my party of three. We ordered vegetarian Tom Yum soup(well seasoned, pleasantly sour), the chicken-shrimp crêpe(crispy), the pad khee mow(under seasoned and under spiced), the crispy chicken fried rice(fragrant, decent portion of chicken), and the pumpkin curry with a side of brown rice. I only ate the Tom Yum, which I enjoyed a lot. Here’s where the serving mishaps happened. At first they were very attentive with filling up our water. Then, 15 min after we ordered, the soup arrived. 5 min later, the crêpe appetizer. 7 min later, the fried rice and pad khee mow. 15 min later, the curry still hadn’t arrived. We asked about it– maybe it had been forgotten. The wait staff went to the table next to us and asked if our fellow diner had ordered the curry(which was on his table) — he said he hadn’t. Wait staff brought it back to the kitchen, and as we were watching, turned right back around and tried to serve it to us(when it had already been served to someone else 5 minutes before). We said we didn’t want that same bowl, since it had been on another table. Wait staff said that the diner hadn’t touched it(which seemed true, but regardless, you can’t re-serve any food). They took it away. 5 min later, we still hadn’t gotten another one, so we cancelled our order, paid, and left with a poor impression of the service. 7:40−8:40 pm, Monday night. Restaurant at ~25% of capacity.

No thanks. We ordered, we tried, we just weren’t that impressed. I can’t even put my finger on why, or what it was. Delivery was lightning quick, which was awesome; but we spent $ 50 and didn’t even keep the leftovers. :(

Great spot near the post office and laundromat on Webster. Very fast service, nice staff AMAZING food at fantastic prices. I ordered the fried coconut shrimp — exquisite citrus dressing and a full green salad beneath. Two meals for just $ 8. So good I decided to order the Special of the Day — soft shell crab salad. What a find in my new neighborhood!

I’m picky when it comes to California Thai restaurants since I’ve travelled all over Thailand. This place was delicious. Seafood Tom ka was done just right and the soft shell crab with curry powder was really tasty and a healthy portion as well. Coconut pad Thai with duck was also very good however I prefer the thinner pad Thai noodles. Definitely will be back!

Amazing Thai food, and you can’t beat the price! Love it! Seriously half the price as osha and just as good or better! Yum yum

Ordered the Green Curry with a side of rice. It’s really creamy and sweet, yet a mild radiating heat. A perfect balance! Kid friendly, chill environment. The music is fun oldies tonight, refreshing. Five stars and we will be back again!

So I normally don’t eat at places with less than 4 stars on Unilocal!and I was expecting to be disappointed. However, I thought the food was good and the portions were decent( Unilocalers said the portions were tiny). I got red curry duck and yellow curry chicken. Both were delicious. I like my curries Americanized, which means sweet and thicker. Authentic Thai lovers might not dig it. Also, northern Thai cuisine has more broth like curries, which I find repulsive. The pineapple fried rice could have used a little more something. It didn’t have a nice glossy color from being freshly pan stir fried. It looked dull and tasted just ok. I think the curry powder used somewhat different from other places too. The Pad Thai was also a little underwhelming. It needed more fish sauce, more lime juice, more oil and hot wok time and the chicken was really dry. This place gets 5 stars because it’s much cheaper than anything out there and the quality is very decent if you like Americanized Thai food, which I do. They also have free delivery, so it’s going to be my go to rainy day Thai food place. I had to pick up the food today because delivery wasn’t an option until 5pm. And I would say it’s not someplace I would like to go eat inside. Not bad, just not what I consider cute and comfortable.

Ordered through Caviar. The food arrived very quickly(at the lowest time estimate. The food was fresh off the stove hot. Tom Kha was very hot and a much bigger portion than I expected(3 – 4 cereal bowls). Chicken satay and beef fried rice were hot and good. Coconut rice was just ok. This wasn’t Thai fine dining quality, but it was hot and tasty.

Well, it started with me having a to throw myself against the front door to get it open. Seriously. I had the curry and rice, plus house wine, and it was delicious. I think my whole meal with tax and tip was just over 20.00. The service was fine. Like most economical Thai places, this dining room could use an update. The table had linen under glass. The linen was filthy at the lap area. =(

Came to have lunch with my sister we ordered Thai tea, pad c ew and chicken pad Thai and pumpkin chicken curry the curry was good taste even better with some rice. The rest of the good was okay nothing to brag about. The portion of food should be more for the price they give you small portion but over all it was an okay experience. Would i ever come back again probably not… Unless someone drag me to this place then maybe…

They have Kuay Tiew Thom Yum Thai!!! I haven’t been able to find this soup in the US. Last time was when I was about 8 years old and living in Bangkok. Thank you guys for allowing me a taste of my youth. Also, everything else I have had here has been great!

Only giving it a three star because it actually tastes«a-okay.» However! I thought the portion was ridiculous for the price I’m paying. I haven’t had any other Thai restaurants around Alameda, but Up2u is definitely a place I don’t think I will step into again. Ordered«pad thai– beef” — This dish is legit. Although the portion is really small… I’m not a big eater even though I’m a Unilocaler. haha. «Crispy chicken rice” — Okay, I thought the fried rice was on par and goes well with the crispy chicken. However, I didn’t expect crispy chicken to be Katsu style chicken. Haha. Maybe japanese mixed thai fusion? Not bad though, the fried rice. Appetizers were definitely quite pricey for the amount that was given. I know it’s appetizers but, I wouldn’t pay a lot of money just for appetizers. Oh! You can also check in to get ONETHAITEA(per/table). I thought that was funny. Parking. street parking. meter parking… It was quite quiet during dinner time when I went there.
