The food was excellent, it was a bit pricey but nothing out of the usual. Not trying to be extra picky but felt the place was a bit too sterile… I didn’t get a very welcoming feeling the whole time we were there. Nothing specific, the staff was polite but not really friendly, and again, the food was great. But to spend that kind of money I’d prefer to go somewhere with a more welcoming ambiance.

VEGETARIANS/VEGANS BEWARE — they put fish sauce in nearly everything, and they premake it so, they can’t take it out. I would have been okay with that except I ordered delivery once and asked for no fish sauce in the curry. They said«Sure thing!» and then when eating in-house, they told me that all curries, except one, have fish sauce. Blech on fish sauce.

Roti bread is amazing. This place never fails. Can sometimes be slow because it’s busy, but otherwise, very flavorful, perfect in every way. Green and yellow curry is great!!!

Mango soft shell crab rolls are on point, the mango chicken entry so good, And the drunken noodles with prawns everything was so delicious just make sure you like sweet food if it has mango. We also ordered the spicy eggplant and it was a bit salty so we sent it back, there was an issue there. The waitress said that this isn’t something you can just send back. She was really upset and offended, my brother tried to calm her down but she insisted that we take the food home to go and eat it there. That was really weird. So I would give the food there five out of five stars but if I had to rate the service I would give them half a star because yes she brought my food and didn’t drop it. Don’t expect great service when you come here if I want to eat food here I will take it to go. Since that’s where the lady said I can go home and eat the food.

Really tasty traditional Thai dishes. It isn’t often that you find Angel Wings. It was nicely crispy and stuffed to perfection. The Sum Tom perfectly complimented the wings with its tangy flavor if you just need something light.

It was my first time trying this Thai restaurant last Monday. The pumpkin curry was very tasty. The beef noodle was pretty salty. I also like the phat tai. The Thai tea was a delight and they refill it too. Very nice. The staffs we’re friendly.

Not bad. I work and live close to Thai Town in LA so I’m a little picky when it comes to Thai. Spice I Am is modern and clean so I wasn’t expecting the best, ha. But the food was surprisingly good. The kabocha curry was amazing, especially over the coconut rice. Their mango and sticky rice was made with black rice, which I’ve never seen before. A modern twist on a classic, but I dug it. In fact, we all did. Our group was stuffed but that didn’t stop us from cleaning the plate. I’d recommend this place to others.

Food was amazing! Very appetizing and flavored! I ordered their cashew chicken and pad Thai. Both were very good. Cashew chicken was crispy and flavorful. One down side, don’t expect much from the waitresses. There are only two servers who are also busser and hostesses. When I asked to be seated, one of the waitress arrogantly pointed to an empty table and said just sit. As if I should know better. Sorry, their Service deducted two stars.

This place will make you deceptively full. I came here with 3 other people, so we did a family style meal. Spice I Am noodles were very good and tasty. The crab fried rice was a little too salty for my preference, but the curries were fantastic. Service was also very nice. It’s a bit small inside, but it never felt like it was too crowded. Beer and wine only though :(

Came here on a Saturday night and we were able to get seated immediately. Interior is nice and makes a great date night spot. They serve wine or beer –no cocktails. The service was great and the waiters were attentive. Food came out quick as well for the restaurant being about 75% full. Food was great! Everything flavorful. We ordered the specials: –Mango soft shell crab rolls –XO Scallop & Prawns w/Coconut rice –Sea Bass in Garlic?(Cant remember full dish name) 5⁄5 Stars :)

Lovely spot on Park St. Very cool bistro décor, comfortable and refreshing retreat from the main street. Perfect spot for before or after the movies. We ordered the mango crab rolls and shrimp-scallop combo from the specials menu for Sunday brunch. Incredibly fresh crab rolls — just the right amount of spicy and fabulous hot crab and cold noodles & mango! The mint sauce was best — we skipped the peanut sauce. Excellent shrimp scallop entrée again just the right amount of spicy — flavorful sauce over coconut rice.

If you feel like taking a date to get fancy Thai food, you’re in the right place. But honestly– I’d probably never come here by choice. I’m rather spoiled from growing up around authentic Thai restaurants in Oakland. This place is quite Americanized. The ambiance is kinda bougie: low lighting, fancy dish presentations, big mirrors on the walls, abstract paintings… I ordered the«aromatic yellow curry» with fish and a side of sticky rice. My sticky rice was a little hard. The aromatic yellow curry was ok. It came with cauliflower, carrots, and onion. My friends liked it but I think it was too mild and lacked flavor– and curry is supposed to be a savory and spicy dish. Overall, service was very good. The ambiance was nice and relaxing. Food is definitely Americanized in my opinion, but it’s not bad at all.

I’m not sure why we’ve never tried Spice I Am. but I’m so happy we did take out tonight. They were very fast & friendly. We ordered Chicken Phat See I aka Pad Sew $ 9& Spicy Eggplant with Chicken $ 9& a side order of Coconut Rice $ 2.50. Everything was soo delicious & flavorful. I can not wait to come back. If you’re looking for a great quick lunch or dinner… check out Spice I Am.

Pretty decent Thai restaurant in Alameda. My friend and I shared the spicy eggplant and some noodles(forgot what it was called). The portion was good, the food was good, the service was good. Had a very positive experience. The reason for 4 stars instead of 5 is because I couldn’t find anything spectacular about this place worth raving about.

Came here for dinner on a Sunday night with some friends before our movie started. The restaurant is a more modern and on the fancier side for Thai places. Their menu offered great selections, but some of the dishes were named differently. The service was alright, nothing spectacular. I’ll give them points for being quick and prompt. The food was mediocre as well, but still good. It tasted more modernized than traditional. There are definitely more traditional thai places around Oakland that is cheaper and tastes better. But this isn’t a bad place for those who want to be in a little fancier place with some thai food. I wouldn’t mind coming here again, but it wouldn’t be my first choice.

LOVE this place! It’s a great date spot because it’s cozy yet very beautifully decorated. Awesome place to go with a few friends, too. Pros: — Great ambience: sleek tables, adorable hanging light fixtures, cozy because of the mix of wooden chairs & couch seating — Unexpectedly reasonable prices — the place looks fancy but you can get an entrée for $ 10! — Attentive staff that lets you do your thang — I’ve only ever tried the Pad See Ew and Pad Thai, but both were tasty: well seasoned, not too salty, meat was standard Cons: — Wish it was bigger, but part of the appeal is the intimate ambience — mirrors contribute to the illusion of it being bigger, though

Got the chance to finally try this place this past weekend and it did not disappoint. Friends of mine come here often so I was looking forward to it. It was actually smaller than I thought but it had a nice ambiance. To get to the restrooms was quite a maze and it was only one unisex bathroom but it was clean. I ordered the Som Tum(Papaya Salad) in mild because lawd knows I can’t do spicy food. The portion was good to share between two people, for us it was between three but I wish I had more of it cuz it was delish! Then I ordered the Crab Fried Rice as my entreé and yes, it was all for me and did not share! Portion size was pretty decent, good for at least two people unless you’re like me who can live off fried rice then set the plate in front of you and have at it! They definitely didn’t skimp on the crab. My fiancé ordered their rice plate with Grilled Lemongrass Chicken and he said it was good but the portion of the meat wasn’t that much as the other rice plates that our friends ordered. Good thing he was able to take some from our friend’s plate since she couldn’t finish hers. We’ll definitely be back in the future!

Stopped by here for a late lunch. I liked the décor of the place and it seemed quite clean. I ordered a thai iced tea and was overwhelmed by the sweetness of the tea. Since I saw so many picture of the tofu fries, I had to try it. The tofu was crispy and good which came with a peanut sauce that was okay. I felt myself getting sick of the sauce after a while. For an entrée I had the one that is like a Pad See Ew. I was punched in the mouth with so much white pepper after taking a bite! Not only was it throughout the dish, it was sprinkled on top as well. Goodness, it was quite peppery and it was all I could really taste. I was so disappointed because the noodles seemed too chewy as well but we were in a hurry for the boyfriend to get back to work for me to say anything about it. What I can say that I liked was the service. The ladies who worked here were friendly.

More like 3.5 stars, but the food here is delicious! It is on the higher end of the scale, so the food is a bit more pricey, and the portions don’t really match the price of the food lol… Our orders: –Two Thai iced teas: served in a tall/high glass… whatever it’s called… a bit too sweet for my taste, so I diluted it with some water… made it taste better… –An order of freshly squeezed oj: my friend was so upset that she paid over 4 bux for oj that came in a small glass. i would be too lol –Yellow curry with fish: The portion for this was quite small(compared to other places where we’ve ordered this), but delicious nonetheless –Roti with yellow curry: small ass order… lol…there was hardly any sauce for it… soo boo on that –Shrimp Pad Thai with extra peanuts and egg: very, very good… they gave us what we asked for… noodles were nice and chewy, and the sauce was evenly distributed… –Tom yum soup: I was feeling sick that day, so this soup was the perfect pick me up… love that its nice and spicy… makes my lips pucker too haha… –Overall dining experience was good, but I personally would prefer getting Thai food somewhere else, where it isnt that expensive… or least where the portions are worth the price.

Probs the best Thai food in alameda but definitely a bit more expensive. I got these dishes and all were thumbs up. The most bland was probably the crab fried rice but it was still very enjoyable. — beef pad see ew: flavorful and tasty — crab fried rice: bland but you gotta love the chunks of crab inside — pumpkin curry with coconut milk: creamy heavy goodness — pad Thai: one of the more authentic Ana exceptional ones I’ve had in alameda My take is you should definitely stop by and try this place out. Yes it’s a tad pricey for my tastes but definitely worth the price.
