Is this even safe to eat??? He said it would be medium rare but that does not look anything close to edible. staff is nice but I could get a better tasting burger elsewhere for $ 5 cheaper. my total for a SMALL side of fries and 2 burgers was $ 35?! How is that even possible. Not going back.

Fantastic burger! I will be back again. Went and ordered and headed into Lucky 13 to have a drink while I waited on my burger. They brought it next door(a normal service) and can I say wow! Great flavors, large portion, and friendly staff. Best burger I’ve had in quite a while(ordered the classic burger).

In my opinion, Scolari’s has the best burgers in the Bay Area — and it’s not even close. The burgers are unreal and to make things even better, they’ll deliver your food directly to you while you grab a drink at the bar next door. The service is always great and they couldn’t be more friendly!

The manager of Scolari’s was kind enough to reach out after reading my Unilocal review and mailed a $ 25 gift certificate so I could try their food again. I went back and got a regular burger this time, buffalo fries, and regular fries with housemade aioli. I bumped them up a star just because I thought it was nice of him to take the time to mail a gift certificate but the regular burger didn’t really blow me away. The meat wasn’t too flavorful and juicy. The buffalo fries were surprisingly good for the weird combination. Housemade fries with the aioli were good as well but I wouldn’t go back to a place just for fries.

Food is consistently good and the specials change all the time which is cool. The best part is they will deliver next door to the bar so you can have a nice IPA with your Chicago dog and fries.

I don’t order burgers every time out, as what would the missus make of my ever-inflating spare tire? But happily I made it to the gym last week for a good 42 minutes, so felt a splurge was well-earned. I heard much about Scolari’s special cheeseburger and it still blew me away. The patty was juicy and packed with flavor, the veg was crisp and fresh and the challah bun was golden and perfectly toasted. Only downside was after the first bite, the juice from the patty turned the bottom half of the bun into a soggy mess, so i had to invert the bad boy halfway through to keep the rest in one pawful. Best burger(I’ve had) in the Bay Area.

This place is consistently awesome. The food is always inventive and delicious.(Blackberry burger in December? Hell. Yes.) The actual store front is very small, a few small tables out front, but nothing actually indoors. You walk inside, order at the counter, and then go next door to Lucky 13 where you can wait for you food with a nice beverage. We like to come here before hitting the movies down the street(literally like 3 blocks away.) Definitely give this place a try if you haven’t already, and ALWAYS try the monthly specials! They are amazing.

I’ve come here fairly often in the last few months with my girlfriends, as it’s our celebratory place after soccer matches. I like this place for basic bar food, and the fact that they delivery to Lucky 13 next door! I’ve tried their cheeseburger, which is delicious, though their special cheeseburger with blackberry sauce(jam) trumps it! Not a fan of the buffalo fries as all you can taste is buffalo hot sauce and there’s very little cheese on there. But overall, quick and simple bar food and always a fun way to end the night!

Best burger in Alameda, maybe one of the top burgers in the East Bay! Just tried this place for the first time this past week. This will definitely be the place I go to when I am craving a good burger without having to face traffic to get somewhere further. ~ INSIDE/OUTSIDE ~ Don’t plan on eating here unless you’ll be eating by yourself or with 1 – 2 other friends. Can’t bring my baby here for sure.(Although I hear you can order your food and sit at the bar next door, but not really my thing). There’s only 2 – 3 tables outside to eat, nowhere inside to eat. So we took ours to-go and ate at home. ~ FOOD/DRINKS ~ Classic cheeseburger: So yummy. Good meaty patty, fresh toppings, cheese, etc. Buffalo fries: Surprisingly delicious even with the blue cheese, since I’m not a fan of blue cheese or buffalo sauce! But it was sooo good. Scampi fries: Pretty much their version of garlic fries, and it’s definitely one of the best I’ve had! Some of the fries were wonderfully crispy, with lots of garlic bits all over, so flavorful. I would come just for both of these fries. I saw a seasonal Parmesan fries on the chalkboard behind the counter, I would love to try that sometime. ~ SERVICE ~ Kinda slow. For just our 2 burgers, 2 fries, it took over 20 minutes =/And it wasn’t even the weekend. It looked like only 2 guys cooking back there…

Scolari’s has been on my bucket list for several years. Recently, we finally got the opportunity to give them a try. Walked into their tiny place to check out their menu. First thing I noticed was that there was no seating inside. There were a few spots to dine on the sidewalk outside. Also, you may find seating next door at the Lucky 13 bar. They will bring your order to you there. We got our order to go. Every month Scolari’s has a Specials menu. Was looking forward to trying their special burger for November. Unfortunately, their special this month was a Pepperoni Pizza burger which did not appeal to me. So, I ordered Scolari’s Classic Cheeseburger for $ 10. Without a doubt, that was the best cheeseburger that I have eaten in the Bay Area so far.(4.25 stars) Scampi Fries was our choice for the sides. We got both a full order for $ 8 and a half order for $ 5. It was more than enough for the 4 of us to share. If you like garlic as we do, then you should enjoy these fries. Your breath will be pretty strong, but it’s worth it! They were yummy.(4 stars) Lobster Roll with Bay Fries was a November special which costed $ 22. Did not get to try this sandwich, but my nephew liked it a lot! He gobbled up that Lobster Roll plus a Classic Cheeseburger! I can say that the fries were delicious! Scolari’s has now made it onto my rotation when it comes to dining in Alameda! Do not have to dine here either. The food tastes very good«To Go» as well!

My, my, now that’s a damn good ‘Special’ burger. Juicy and thick, packed full of the proper seasons, and topped with finishings fresher than the Prince himself. And for a surprise, buffalo fries! What a refreshing treat. Who would’ve thought shaved carrots and celery on top of house cut fries would turn out so good? Environment isn’t too much to write home about — it’s pretty sparse with very limited seating. Plus, you’re right on one of the busiest corners of Alameda, so don’t come in expecting a romantic retreat. I assure you it’s far from it. But if you’re looking for an awesome burger and creative sides that are hard to top, you’re definitely in the right place.

Because this is a little hole in a wall type joint, this place looks super unassuming until you look at the menu. Buffalo fries? French onion dip cheeseburger? Say whaaaaa? Never been a huge fan of french onion dip but I guess if you put it into a burger, you got me hooked. Fries came out fairly quickly and boy were they good! Freshly fried to a delightful crunch, these bad boys were tossed in just enough buffalo hot sauce to get a nice coating, but not enough to ever get soggy. The thin slices of celery were a nice touch and I appreciated the slight smattering of blue cheese crumbles that was actually small enough to not bowl me over with its«blue-ness». There was also a generous helping of thin carrot curls on top that sort of perplexed me but I didn’t really care much because… friessss! ^__^ Maybe a third of the way into the fries, the burger came out in all its crispy bacon and potato chip glory. I think the bread/bun was pretty decent, but I was too busy marveling at the delicious saltiness… Yea the bacon already had a good crunch, but the potato chips just pushed it over the top. Would have made splitting the burger with my friend a little messy, the guy at the counter thoughtfully included a steak knife with our order so it was all good. Cheese was deliciously melty, meat patty was cooked just right, but the french onion dip on the salad(why hello my little wayward leaf of baby arugula!) was what really set this burger apart from others I’ve had in the past. Really guys, you should try it! Grilled onions definitely have a soft spot in my heart, but there’s just something about this dip…^____^ Heads up, you can get your food sent over to you at the adjoining bar, should you choose to go the efficient route of getting your drank on while your food is being made. Very convenient!

The burger was good, the wings were fantastic, and the buffalo fries are out of this world. Alright so I picked up some food here last week. Things got a little crazy, and I decided to go with an order of wings, buffalo fries, and a burger. Poor choice on my end because I was sorely disappointed that I couldn’t finish it all. The burger was just okay. Nothing special. It was cooked perfectly but just a standard, solid burger. It takes a lot to impress me on that front, though. The Scampi wings were awesome. I am a buffalo wings type girl, too. But these wings are cooked perfectly with tons of garlic and oil and its just delicious. Scampi is one of my favorite italian dishes, so I guess it make sense. Now for the main event: the buffalo fries. They were doused in buffalo sauce, covered in blue cheese crumbles and tossed up with some celery and carrots. Dipped in blue cheese or ranch they taste like buffalo wing-french fries – basically heaven on earth. This place is a little out of the way for me but I have a friend in Fruitvale, so hopefully will be back soon.

No bloody Mary’s on a Friday afternoon… Mood killer. «Sold out» they say… 3 stars for the food, got the burger special for the month. Jalapeño + fried onion + bacon + cheese. Yum! Kinda pricey for a burger with no side tho. 13 $ CASHONLY bar by the way, which is very inconvenient

My brother and I both got a sandwich and shared the scampi fries with garlic and onions. I got the burger special with white cheddar and bacon and he got the spicy lamb meatball sandwich served in a pita bread. I tried to order the Italian combo but they said that they were out. We headed next door to Lucky 7 and the food was brought over relatively quickly. Even after they delivered the food, the lady who took our order checked in on us later in the night. Pretty cool. It’s a bit pricy as many other reviewers have noticed, but as far as convenience bundled in with Lucky 7, it is a match made in heaven. Good food with easily accessible alcohol.

After a hard night of drinking single malt scotch and beer I got up Sunday morning looking for some Hangover medication. I remember seeing Scolari’s on «Check Please». We arrived at 1 pm, it’s like ordering from a take out burger /pizza place and eating in a dive bar. We ordered the following food items: Classic Cheeseburger and Stromboli were excellent. The buffalo blue cheese fries were not good, they were soggy from the buffalo sauce. $ 33 before tip The bar was busy with food patrons from next door including a guy’s softball team. We ordered two Bloody Mary’s $ 6 each excellent and garnished with olives pearl onions celery lemon lime a piece of cheese and a piece of pepperoni. Parking is what ever you can find on the street. Service is minimal. The greasy salty food along with the Bloody Mary’s were just what I needed to absorb the alcohol from yesterday.

Last meal in the Bay and the best meal of the day! This place doesn’t look like much at all; it’s small, has no indoor seating, and the menus are written in chalk… but what they lack in aesthetics, they make up for in creativity and flavor. I ordered the Blueberry Bacon bleu cheese burger which was the monthly special and was NOT disappointed! It comes between two brioche buns with arugula, red onions, bacon and blueberries. One bite and I could not put it down! I had the bleu cheese and blueberry sauce running down my hand and it was magical!!! I’m pretty sure I killed the burger in 3 minutes… and was SO tempted to order another one. Damn it… I want one right now. The next time I fly into Oakland airport, I’m stopping into Alameda county and ordering a burger to eat there and another one to go!

Scolari’s has been on my list of burgers to try for awhile now… but I’ve been waiting for their blackberry burger to show up on their specials to try it. Was going to go somewhere else that day but decided to call and ask if the blackberry burger as available that day, which I was told it was so plans changed instantly. We get there and it’s not a blackberry burger but a blueberry burger. Close enough. I get that, boyfriend gets a bacon cheeseburger and we share the scolari fries. They asked medium we requested medium rare and they actually cooked it perfectly, thank you! When I got my burger I was a little heartbroken… it did not look at all like the pictures I saw where there is just berry juice oozing out. I know the burgers in general are supposed to be good so I was ready either way. The patty was heavily crusted with peppers/spices, a little too much for my tastes. I could barely taste the blueberry or blue cheese. If there were more of either it probably would have better balanced out the heavily spiced patty. Besides the spices, the patty itself was juicy and had a good flavor. The bun was soft but didn’t fall apart… I think their blueberry special needs some more work though, highly disappointing. My boyfriend just thought his burger was okay but I kind of preferred his over mine since the patty wasn’t tampered with and it didn’t seem to be drowning in arugula like mine. Simple was better in this case. The fries had a good balance between crispy and«mushy» pieces which I like a lot. There were a generous amount of garlic as well. We both agreed that it would be a lot better without the lemon, that kind of threw the flavor off for us unfortunately. The service was friendly and overall the place is good… just disappointed with the flavoring/lack of on the blueberry burger and fries. I’m still wanting to come in for the actual blackberry burger and probably some buffalo fries though…3.5 for now.

3÷8÷15: Came here just looking for a burger, but it turned out to be a cool place to enjoy your food too, sitting at the diveyish bar. 1. Scolari’s Classic Cheeseburger $ 10: It’s basically exactly as stated – classic with lettuce, onions, cheese and good meat. Nothing particularly memorable except maybe it being pretty tall due to the large amount of lettuce they put in it. But the price ain’t bad, and it was tasty. 7⁄10. 2. BAT $ 9.50: So, it’s bacon, ARUGULA, tomato, making it a bat. Typically I’m not a fan of arugula in sandwiches but it works pretty well in this one. Gives it a little spicier kick. However, in my opinion, the bacon is WAY over crisped. It’s not burnt at all and has a lovely color, but it’s REALLY hard. Kinda lost the savoriness of the fat and just turned it into a cracker. Very high quality sandwich but I just can’t appreciate the main attraction the way it is. 6.5÷10. So, you place your order in a more typical, modern-looking place. But after I told them I was eating in, the cashier told me to go next door to sit. And wow, it’s a totally different place than where you order! – as I alluded to earlier, it has personality! I like it. Beautiful place to chill and eat. Full bar. Lots of beer on tap. Very nice! I feel the food is more 3.5ish /5, but did like the whole experience so… 4⁄5 #american #burger #beer #blt

I know Scolaris is notorious for their burger. Friends have given it high praises, so I think it’s worth the hype. However, since I don’t eat red meat I find myself always in a pickle deciding what to get. I’ve been here a few times and while each person fell in love with their meal, I was always mehh. It’s a little pricey for what you get, but you’re getting quality over quantity. So, just go for the burger if you eat meat! CASHONLY
