Sophisticate Interiors

My husband and I had never used an interior decorator before. We trusted Sophie to remove all the wallpaper. window coverings, paint all the cabinets black, and pick the wall colors for the downstairs and our master bedroom. LOVE IT! It was amazing to see how it all came together with Sophie and her crew. Her crew was neat and clean each and every day. We would not hesitate to use Sophie again.

Beware! This woman lied to us and said she had a contractor’s license. Like fools we did not ask for the number to confirm it, but she contracted out painting, carpentry and flooring work, nonetheless. When the bills started exceeding her estimates she refused to provide supporting invoices for her purchases and work. I heard from an ex-​contractor that this is common with her and she dances between the rain drops of angered clients who feel defrauded. We reported her to the contractor license board. They let her off with a warning but she is on their watch list. We then caught her in several other lies regarding the work she had done, including the quality and cost of the carpet versus what was actually installed. It was a horrible experience. Additionally, «Sophisticate Interiors» and «SophiSticate Interiors» are the same thing — but one doesn’t have my negative review.
