After trying several places in Alameda, we ended up always coming back to this place. Food is always good and place looks clean.

This place has really good food and no MSG! we have never eaten there we always order through Unilocal Eat24. Our favorites: General Tso’s chicken, hot and sour soup, and dry braised string beans. Weekly regulars and our delivery is always speedy quick!

This place is really good. I am content to have ordered food from here. It got here very fast too. The szechuan chicken very flavourful, the hot and sour soup on point, very good chicken chow mein and the vegetables are really delightful with the vegetables. Also dining in is very good too and fast. The food is not greasy compared to other places and it’s very affordable. I would recommend and come here/order again.

Chicken Curry: Bland. No spice whatsoever and only the slightest hint of any flavor. Onion pancakes: Bland. At least it came free with our order. Also the peanut sauce was not very good either, which I feel like is hard to mess up, it had a very metallic flavor. Chow Mein: Would have been the least offensive dish except it had MULTIPLEHAIRS. One of which was distinctly pube like which makes me want to cry. Salt and Pepper Pork chops: Not salty. Not peppery. Not crispy. Mostly bones with too much soft breading around them. Since there was mostly air between the two layers of breading it had to be done on purpose to hide the incredible lack of meat. Would never spend money here again.

I had high hopes for this place. I have to just say the food wasn’t good at all, and that pains me to say. We had: Mongolian Beef, Orange Chicken, vegetable beef, beef chow fun, pork fried rice and eggrolls. First of all, those are the items I ordered, not the items I received. Lol. The chow fun came as chow mein, orange chicken came as spicy garlic chicken. The items that they did send were blandness tasteless. The eggrolls were sooooo tiny! I’d never eat her again. The 2 stars is because they deliver.

The best Chinese delivery on the island by far. We ordered General Tso chicken, sesame chicken, and egg rolls. All three were absolutely delicious. The delivery was fast and the food was hot when it arrived! We absolutely will order again from this place again.

Great wor won ton soup — — great orange chicken and delivery was on time. Happy to have found this spot. There is a $ 2 delivery fee and a minimum of $ 15 I think.

This is the best Chinese take out on the main island of Alameda. I’ve tried several of them, and the food here is better than the others. Their green onion pancakes are crunchy! The broccoli is crisp in the broccoli beef. I’ll go back again and again.

Last night was the 1st time ordering from here. We used delivery. We ordered the fried chicken wings, steamed rice, beef in oyster sauce and Hunan mild spicy prawns. We live in Oakland at Lake Merritt. When the food arrived, it was hot and very fresh. We had previously been ordering from Yang Chow in Oakland, but their service has definitely gone from 5 stars to 2 or 3 stars. This is our go-to Chinese Restaurant now.

Xing Yuan is under new management and now the food is delicious!!! Their green onion pancakes are crave-worthy as are their fried won tons and lemon chicken. Wish my metabolism was faster so I could eat here more often! ;)

I ordered delivery from here multiple times in the past with great success. Last night the delivery driver expected me to walk outside to his car in my pajamas to retrieve my food. Because I wasn’t properly dressed to walk out into the cold night I waited by my front door. Eventually I hear the driver slam his car door and he brings me my food. I’ll never forget the dirty look he gave me. Like he wanted to kill me. I tipped very well on top of the delivery charge and don’t feel like I deserved the animosity directed my way. I’ll never order from this place again in fear of not getting clean food or possibly being assaulted by the delivery driver. Such a shame. The food isn’t half bad.

I struggle with finding a good Chinese restaurant and this one has always been really good. My boyfriend and I both enjoy their dishes very much. Orange Chicken, Chowmein, Sesame Chicken, Fried Rice and Hot and Sour Soup are staple, yet done well here.

Just ordered a ton of food to feed me all weekend as I live the shut-in life and I am so disappointed. The salt and pepper prawns weren’t salty or spicy. The sesame beef was overly salty with no other flavor and the chicken with green beans was just meh. Not terrible, but not great. The one thing that was pretty tasty was the wor won ton soup. I rarely ever toss food out that I have paid for, but I think the beef is going in the trash. I probably will not order from here again, however the food may be better in the restaurant. One positive note, it did arrive quickly.

Date: 12÷7÷2015 Time: 7:05PM55° Intermittent cloud This restaurant has been bookmarked for quite a while(over 3 years) for dining. It’s located in Marina Village where the Magic Wok used to be. I wasn’t sure what to expect, since the previous restaurant was so-so; a hit or miss. Since Xing Yuan is about a mile from home, and both my husband and I have been under the weather with bad colds, we stopped in for some soup(won ton and chicken/mushroom noodle), prawn with lobster sauce, double mushroom chicken, and steamed rice. Make the order to go, please. We were told by the hostess that the wait time would be about 15 minutes for the food. They were not kidding. The service was quick and we received our order within the 15 minutes. Being sick is no fun — achy body, coughing, runny nose, fever and loss of appetite. However, the piping hot won ton soup was flavorful and perfect for making me feel better. My nose was no longer running and my appetite was returning. After finishing the soup, I had my favorite dish, double mushroom chicken with steamed rice. My husband enjoyed his lobster sauce prawn over noodles and said it was on point. Every item we ordered was quite tasty and delish. For a Chinese restaurant outside of the Oakland Chinatown area, Xing Yuan is great. It’s convenient and fast. The employees were helpful and pleasant. There’s plenty of parking, compared to Webster Street here in Alameda and Oakland. There will be more visits to this restaurant in the future. I’m glad we stopped in to order food to go.

Two stars because i was hungry as HELLLLLL! Ordered the general tso’s lunch, for about $ 8 it seemed totally worth it. To my disappointment its definitely not the best generals I’ve had. You ever had food that tastes like it been twice cooked? Yeah, i just think i did. I’m more than likely not going to order from here again, like, how do you mess up generals?! =(

This was my 2nd try here. It’s very much just OK. I liked their noodles, this time I had the combo chow fun. We had broccoli beef which was perfect for my daughter. The meat was really tender and not grisly. We also ordered the schezuan chicken and it was not good at all, the sauce was just not tasty. I really wanted to send it back but I did not. I figured I could take it home and improve it. I would come here again only for convenience. The people are very nice. Still on a quest for a really awesome Chinese food experience in Alameda. I will just skip the schezuan chicken though.

Of all of the Chinese places I’ve tried in my life, Alameda holds the honor of having two of the best Chinese restaurants in the Bay Area, and Xing Yuan is one of them(The China House on Park Street being the other). This spot used to be named The Magic Wok, but after a change in ownership and a rebranding, Xing Yuan now holds its humble place as dishing out some of the best Chinese food I’ve ever had, tucked way in its little spot in the Marina Village. The food here is made hot and fresh to order, service is very fast, and all of the staff here are very nice people. My favorite dish — which I highly recommend — is this Kung Pao Chicken. Chunks of juicy, fresh bell pepper fill the plate with tender chicken and crunchy peanuts, in a perfectly balanced Kung Pao sauce that’s spicy and flavorful. The potstickers are also delicious and very sizable, served with a wonderful chili and sesame oil dipping sauce, I’ve also had a couple of different Chow Fun varieties, and both have been delicious. The War Won Ton soup is packed with veggies and a ton of won tons that are filled with meat, and the bowl they bring out is most certainly meant to be shared(unless you’re extremely hungry). I’ve tried a number of dishes on the menu here and I honestly haven’t been disappointed in anything I’ve eaten. The prices are very reasonable, and the portions of every dish are very impressive. Again, one of the best things about Xing Yuan is the freshness of the food — I can’t get over how piping hot everything is and how crispy all of the veggies are in their dishes. While the restaurant is small(about six tables and three booths), take-out seems to be very popular here, and I’ve never had a problem getting a table with my family when we go for dinner. A very great spot for delicious, fresh Chinese food, with friendly service. Definitely recommend.
