Studio Fifteen

This place is great, lots of windows and natural lighting, loft type feel with eclectic vibe. Very chill and calming atmosphere. Showed Yvette some pics of the color I was looking for and it came out perfect. She nailed my haircut, was better than I even thought it could be. My hair feels healthy with a modern cut and my color is rich. I liked all the products used, sulfate and paraben free, no animal testing. She gave me an intense conditioning treatment that was amazing and also took the time to curl my long hair afterword. The whole experience was very relaxing with great music and the time flew by. Better than any cut or color I have received in at least 5 years from many of the top salons in SA. Will absolutely be coming back.

Both my boyfriend and I had our hair cut by Kristy — she was wonderful for both of us! I have a hard time trusting hairstylists, so I greatly appreciated Kristy taking the time to ask questions about what I wanted, making sure the style would work for my hair texture, talking me through the haircut, and of course, the great end result! I love this salon — it is small and sweet, and the hairstylists are skilled and professional.

Very happy I found this place. Kristy did my hair… she took her time and gave me exactly what I was asking for. The salon is small, warm and welcoming. Not a lot of traffic in and out… makes it nice and quiet.

So glad I chose studio fifteen ! Lisa did a fantastic job, she really took her time and explained every product and technique she was using. My hair has never looked better! Can’t wait to come back.

As any girl with curly hair knows, it’s hard to find a place to trust to cut your locks. I came through San Antonio for work and was in desperate need of a haircut. After searching through Unilocal I found this place and I’m so glad I made an appointment! Yvette was super knowledgable about curly hair, I felt very comfortable letting her take off more than just a trim. I would definitely recommend Yvette to anyone looking for an amazing haircut! I’ve gotten so many compliments on the cut within the first 24 hours. A great Unilocal find!

Finally found my salon! After being with the same hair stylist for years and her having to suddenly move, it became extremely hard to find a new one and honestly, kind of stressful. There are so many salons and stylists out there that don’t listen to you or genuinely care about you as a client but as soon as I walked into studio fifteen, I knew it was different. The atmosphere is so nice and it has all the best vibes. Lisa is amazing. She really went out of her way and above and beyond to make sure I was happy. I can comfortably say I found my new stylist and I couldn’t be more excited about it. I would recommend Studio fifteen to anybody (in fact, I already have). Thanks again Lisa! You’re the greatest.

I just moved here in July 2015… and I’m so happy to have found Yvette!!! I came in with a not so great color and cut from a different salon in Alamo heights. and Yvette saved me!!! My color and cut are exactly what I wanted and I just adore her and her studio… it so inviting, eclectic, and original! She’s so knowledgeable on color and hair and created a style that makes me feel amazing!!! I can’t wait to go back and see her! If you love color Yvette is your girl!

Just went to Studio 15 for the first time based on great reviews here on Unilocal!I was very nervous about getting my long, naturally curly hair cut and colored. Kristy did a fabulous job. She really listened to what I had to say and took her time to give me a gorgeous haircut that exceeded my expectations. She also gave me beautiful highlights. This is the happiest I have ever been with a haircut/​highlighting. Salon is very calm and soothing — no phones ringing off the hook and people coming in and out. You truly feel like you are special here. Easy to make appointments online through their website. Will definitely be back and will highly recommend Kristy and the salon to everyone I know!

Yvette — girl, you’re it! I moved to San Antonio a little over a year ago and have been searching for a new hairstylist. Needless to say I’ve been disappointed, until yesterday when I walked into Studio Fifteen. I wasn’t there for a drastic cut/​change or anything; just to clean up my ends and give me a more even cut. Yvette knocked it out of the park. She knew exactly what I was going for! The ease of online scheduling was also perfect. Especially for someone like me who’s always on the go and doesn’t have time to spend on the phone with a receptionist. The salon is so quaint and vintage with an amazing atmosphere. While chatting with Yvette during my appointment, I became more and more confident in her skill set. Literally can’t wait to go back and have her do my color! I’ll definitely be staying with Yvette for as long as I’m in San Antonio!

From the time I came in my whole experience was perfect! Love the décor in the studio! All the girls there were extremely respectful and sweet. I don’t remember the girls name that did my hair but she’s awesome!!! She took so much time doing my color and it turned out perfectly! I brought in my extensions to compare and color to match and I couldn’t find anyone to do it better! Thank you so much for the experience and your kindness! If I wasn’t moving I would come here for every cut!

For about 5 years I had a regular stylist that I would go to and she was great. Then she moved. I hate trying different salons so I stopped going to get my hair done as often and just salon-​hopped around just for hair trims. I randomly decided I wanted to actually try to get a good hair cut and new color. After reading some reviews and looking at photos, I booked an appointment (On New Years Eve! They were actually open!) and Lisa did an amazing job. I hoped the color/​cut would come out looking alright but it looks AWESOME. I’ve never had a stylists take so much time to tell me what she was doing and why. She told me everything step by step. With Lisa’s suggestions, my hair came out great! I love it and I’ve gotten lots of compliments. I will definitely be returning.

You know when you find «your salon» and are super hype about it, only to return and be saddened? This has happened to me at three SATX salons, but I’m going ahead and writing a full five stars for Yvette and Studio Fifteen. Here’s why:
1) Ease of Scheduling: Any salon that has Unilocal-​based scheduling is better for my busy lifestyle than one where I have to make a call.
2) Location: Tucked away along Avenue B between Brackenridge Park and my favorite Yoga studio, AC Power Yoga, this is walkable (according to this ex-​New Yorker) from Incarnate Word, Central Market, the Pearl, and Broadway restaurants. There’s tons of parking and cool small businesses to visit before and after your hairdo excursion is over.
3) Ambience: The décor in this open loft studio is like a cool apartment. The seating is super comfortable, the light makes it very uplifting, and the reading material is offbeat and interesting. The elevated salon chairs provide a view into beautiful old trees. It’s also a quiet salon. There are three chairs, so none of the chaos of big chain salons is there.
4) Styling: Based on reviews I read prior to my visit, I walked in and just said to «keep it long.» Yvette did the rest, so it was a perfect cut. She really took her time and care.
5) Service: Originally, I was frustrated when I called and there phone wasn’t answered, but when I arrived, I appreciated how the stylists don’t leave their clientele to play receptionist. I appreciated having a great conversation with Yvette about Unilocal,being introverts, relationships, and books. Although I usually prefer reading a book or magazine the first few visits with a stylist, I left mine in my purse to talk with her. She gave me great advice about taking care of my hair without shoving her products down my throat and taught me a new way to style my hair.
Studio Fifteen is the best salon I’ve been to in three years.

Another reviewer wrote about Yvette being a hair Goddess, i couldn’t agree more! She is! Either that or a Hair Angel! My hair was in a complete dark place before I found Yvette!
Another telling sign of her being a hair Goddess, i am a blonde, and the last time she highlighted my hair, i went almost 4 months before getting highlights again tonight. I had roots, but somehow you really couldn’t tell, everything blended so well. And i am the type of person that hates roots on myself, so that was truly magical!
Tonight, she created another blonde masterpiece on my head. I am starting to love my hair again– thanks to Yvette! i

Yvette is wonderful! Besides being talented and witty, she listens and cares. I came in asking for a specific cut but she asked to make a style adjustment based on my hair type. Also, without me noticing, she made a color correction that will allow me to go red down the road since I complained my last colorist went too dark making my hair seem flat. Next time I visit I can go slightly lighter picking up the red in my undertones. Very cool. She told me about it at the end.

Decided to try a new place since the last place I went to fried my hair after my second set of highlights. Found this place by shear chance or divine intervention :) I met Yvette, whom I have started calling the Hair Goddess because that’s what she is! She listened to me weep about my once glorious locks that we’re now breaking apart. I begged her for a miracle and she delivered. My hair is soft, it shines and the cut she gave me was/​is perfect. If you’re looking for a true artist and professional visit Yvette aka The Hair Goddess. I’m never getting my hair cut by anyone else.

I went to see Yvette during my business trip and she is the only studio open on a Sunday which is amazing because most salons are closed on Sunday. I asked for an Up do and showed her picture and she nail it perfectly and I was beyond impressed. Yvette knows her stuff very well and I felt very comfortable. Her price is also very good as well and she gives you her undivided attention where you don’t have to deal with foot traffic or phone constantly ringing or people interrupting her. I love her concept and business model and highly recommend her because she has it figure out and will give you a great experiences.
