My first Gluten Free pizza… and I was satisfied. Compared to «normal» dough it’s a little bit«grainier» but buttery and soft. Almost the consistency of a soft cornbread. Toppings were fresh – shredded chicken was tender and the veggies crisp. Took a Lamb Bloke Sandwich to go but haven’t tried it yet!

This was my place to eat in San Antonio. I am incredibly sad that they are closed and I miss them very much. I did not even worry about eating anywhere else. This place was the best and the owners were salt of the earth

Very disappointed that they are closed. This was a fabulous restaurant. Hopefully they will relocate and reopen!

I have to admit that after eating her for the first time today, I might be obsessed. I want to eat something sweet to celebrate my graduation, but did not want to upset my body with inflammatory foods that I am sensitive to(gluten, dairy and soy). My boyfriend and I each ordered a piece of cake: coconut and Chocolate, Pecan. They could not have been more delicious and surprisingly they were quite filling. No empty carbs – just power packed nutrition. This place was pretty difficult to find, maybe they should put a sign on the road that makes it easier. However, once you do find it, you are in for a real treat. One issue I have with this place, is that they use only paper goods and styrofoam cups. There’s nothing less friendly to the environment than styrofoam, and using all of that disposable dish wear surely isn’t cost effective. I would really like to see that changed. Otherwise I am really happy with my experience dining at Little Aussie Bakery!

I visited this place about 2 years ago with a friend who had been gluten free for 3 or so years. He started eating something(I can’t recall) and it nearly turned into the scene in When Harry Met Sally with Meg Ryan… I on the other hand had an entirely different reaction — M’eh! I guess it’s a matter of perception — if you’ve been eaten gluten-free for a while, and then you discover a shop like this, it probably tastes like a slice of cheesecake wrapped in bacon! However, if you’re like most people and have been eating the real stuff, then this probably won’t blow your skirt up. That being said, they had a nice selection of bakery items and in particular I kind of sort of enjoyed these cookies I ate but I recall they were a tad had and crunchy but that was ok. I’m guessing if you’re gluten free, you’re going to love this place but for most, it’s not really that outstanding. If you’re in the neighborhood, they’re certainly worth a try but I’m not driving across town for them…

Love this place! Every time we come up to SA area we visit. It’s a cute little place kind of off the beaten path. The people are always friendly and the food is always great. I’ve only come for brunch and dessert, but I’m always impressed. Today we had waffles and a slice of cake, and I bought a small cake to bring back to Houston for my daughters birthday in a couple days. These guys seriously know how to do gluten free! My only complaints are is it is pretty pricy. $ 80 worth of damage for waffles, a slice of cake, and a 6 inch petite cake. Humph. And I swear they NEVER turn on the AC there. It’s always like 1000 degrees in there. Other than that I love coming here when in town.

Beef Pot Pie was very flavorful. Small selection. Great staff. Recommend if in the area. Wifi available. They do not permit outside food in, so you they’re serious about being GF.

The food is great but waited almost an hour for my order the second time I ate there. Pizza is really good. Cake is really good. Everything is a bit pricey but that’s not uncommon for gluten free fare. If you know where to find it, there’s a parking garage a block or so away.

I like this place. Everything is gluten free so that’s nice. I’ve been twice and gotten the Aussie Sanger sandwich. I like it better without chicken because the chicken is a kinda mashed up mush. The cakes are really good. All in all good but a overpriced.

Went on Wednesday afternoon around 1pm. They have yummy looking GF bread and desserts. It is a quaint place right by the WItte Museum and the zoo. We ordered 2 hotdogs, a savory pie and a pizza. There were 4 other people in the restaurant and it took 45 minutes to get the hot dogs, and another 45 minutes to get the savory pie(which was a 4 inch slice of pie with canned chicken and nothing else in the pie. Maybe they were short staffed today, but the service was terrible and the food was way over priced. No apologies or explanation for a1 and half hour wait. I am not sure how they have stayed in business this long and be so lousy?

I love Little Aussie Bakery. I have celiac disease and I love being able to order anything I want from the menu. This is a 100% gluten free restaurant, which means I am 100% safe. Their waffles and French toast are delicious and their cakes are out of this world. Recently I ordered some GF pies for Thanksgiving and they were hands down THEBEST pies we’ve ever had. I highly recommend this place!

The complimentary gluten free roll was very good. It has accompanying garlic spread was good on the taste buds. I had a black currant Italian soda that was the right combination. The main course was a chicken meat pie and it was tasty. It was perfect for a cold South Texas day. There is a large selection of breads, crust and cookie dough to take with you. The desserts should be in a magazine. They are too beautiful to eat, well almost. A friend recommended this place and I was downtown and able to stop in and I’m so glad. SA needs more restaurants like the little aussie. One must keep a few things in mind when eating GF. Taste and texture are VERY different for GF. Secondly, American’s have whacked out portion sizes. GF cooking is pricier as well as local grass fed meat which this place does both. I thought the prices and portions were spot on. Would I come here to feed a football team, no I stay home and cook to feed my teenage son because he is expensive no matter where I take him to eat.

While the brunch was good, I found it to be a little overpriced. I understand that quality ingredients are pricey, but for a waffle and a side of scrambled eggs came out to $ 14.

Extremely out of the way and really hard to find. We were so excited to come check this place out and after being such a chore to get there we thought«It must be great!». Not so much what we experienced. My friend and I are both GF, and from Washington State. We went in to grab some snack items for the hotel that we knew were«safe» for us. We walked in, and there were multiple employees around. No one greeted us right away, and then someone asked if we were«eating in». We said«No, but we have questions», and they looked almost irritated. Not entirely, but a little and it was enough to be noticed. We asked about the goat cheese cheesecake(my friend is also Dairy Free, so this was an exciting opportunity!). It sounded good, but goat cheese is temperamental when combined with certain things so we asked if we could have a small sample to taste. A tiny little sliver is all we would have needed, but when asked the owner(without even turning around to acknowledge us or the employee asking on our behalf) said«NO», and in no way could her response have been misunderstood. She seemed to be extremely offended that we asked. However, when you are paying that kind of price for a single slice of a pie then its nice to know what you are getting. We ended up each getting a slice of the pumpkin goat cheese cheesecake, anyway. It was dry, and while it had a small hint of favor it was also somewhat bland and boring. We also each bought some cookies. These were packaged in a vacuum sealed bag, two cookies to each package. We specifically asked if the cookies would be soft or crunchy when they were opened up and released from the airless package. We were told they would be soft, for sure. They werent. They were extremely crumbly, in fact, the minute they were opened. And the two cookies were so stuck together there was no separating them. I am unimpressed with the food quality, and the owners attitude. A couple of employees were somewhat friendly, though. Especially the one who looked like she herself was shocked at the owners response to a tasting request…

I had issues in the past with Little Aussie. The staff is now consistently friendly. One of the last times I was there one of the owners was incredibly helpful with my lack of baking knowledge. She taught me how to prep my pie crust and was very sweet about it. Also, I just went today, holy wow! The rye bread might be the best yet.

We came here on a gift certificate, bringing Spouse to GF heaven. It was Sunday brunch, and the place was Busy — but the folks at the counter were extremely friendly and someone even came by to be sure we know how the it all worked. Spouse ordered waffles, and later as he was eating them he couldn’t stop smiling — «It must be 30 years since I’ve had waffles!» As a non-GF person, I had to try them. And yes, they were light, fluffy and delicious. For Gluten free or regular diets, these folks waffles are at treat. I ordered the Pasta bake(see photo). Nothing special, but then pasta isn’t where GF really shines anyway. The salad was delicious — a super-fresh mélange of greens with a delightful orange-flavored vineagrette(I could chosen lime or one other I don’t remember) stayed with me as a flavor I’d love to replicate. We were totally full, so ordered two pieces of cake(chocolate pecan and carrot) to go along with some bread and rolls. The Little Aussie Bakery is a delightful experience — over-priced, perhaps(our indulgence, with iced tea for two, came to $ 80 including tax and tip) but fun all the same. Well, done Aussies!

While staying in San Antonio we didn’t have a car and were trying to save every dollar possible, which meant walking instead of taking the bus. So we walked all the way from the other side of San Antonio town to get to this little café. It is literally situated in what feels like the middle of nowhere. It was worth the walk. Everything is gluten free. Not only that, but it tastes delicious. A wide variety of food on their menus, from burgers to pies to sandwiches. The cakes and sweet treats are delicious and they have a freezer full of frozen foods you can purchase to take away with you. Just delicious. Even if you’re not gluten free!

My first gluten free experience. I was disappointed by the presentation vs price. The menu oversold and the actual was unimpressive, tasteless, and overpriced. The desserts do not disappoint on flavor but the texture is a little different. Pricy…2 cookies and a slice of cheesecake =$ 12. If you are trying to eat on a budget, and have 20 mins, get the meat lovers pizza. All sandwiches will leave you craving flavor. Do not get the lamb bloke; It is gamey and bland. If you have to get a sandwich get the mango chicken bloke. Three stars for delivering good gluten free/vegan dessert but blowing a basic lunch item like sandwiches.

Not only the bast place in San Antonio for GF food, but the best I’ve found in all of the United States. If you have other food allergies, they have dairy free and other«free» items as well. Take some of their bread with you, you won’t be sorry!

I wish I had one of these in every state I have lived in.(which is a lot at my age) We went for Sunday Brunch! YUMMY! I had the waffle and Jason had the spinach tomatoe quiche. I walked away happy and full! We bought over $ 80 worth of GF items before we left for the trip back to Louisiana. We ate all the items within 3 day, it was so flavorful, moist and delicious! WOW! It is pricey but if you are gluten free you should be used to paying that price, I get sick of hearing everyone say how expensive it is… Get used to it. We did get the coupons which were offered on Unilocal,I purchased two. They let me use both, seperately of course. I wish we would have gone twice while we were visiting SA, when we go back this will definately be on the go-to places. They have specials every night, or so it seemed from the flyers on the table. I believe they even serve a GF beer.
