Chips and beans are good. Fish is light and not too greasy. Service is good. Shrimp cocktail was filling. Salsa is spicy. Easy choice with consistent food.

The Fish Ceviche is very good. The shrimp ceviche has no flavor. They serve chips with a side of beans and a spicy green salsa to start the meal. Chips and beans are good. I enjoyed the food but I was VERY disappointed with the service. After the waitress gave us our food and drinks she never came back to our table. The SAD part was that there was only 3 other families in the restaurant and 4 waitresses in the restaurant. It looked like the waitresses were having a good time talking to each other but they were NOT helping the customers.

The place is not fancy at all, but fancy prices. A couple TVs going. They have two menus, one English, the other in Spanish. Pretty nice menu, has photos, laminated. Waitress gave us old white-haired white women Spanish menus. She finally returned with English menus. Ordered our meal and our drinks. Waitress returned w refried beans, green salsa, and chips as an appetizer. The green sauce was hot hot hot, but with refriedn beans on the chips, it was tasty. Had to ask waitress THREE times to get us our beverages! And there were few patrons in restaurant. Ordered Tecate lite, and she brought Miller lite. Huh? Finally she brought me correct beer. Ordered lemonade. Aye yi yi. She said she’d bring it. I noticed that in the work area, they took about fifteen minutes to fill the top of some machine with liquid. Guess it was the lemonade machine. Waitress must have known they were out of LA, but we didn’t get it until half-way thru the meal, as they had been out of it. We were brought soup. It was sweet, had cilantro floating on top, tasted a bit fishy, but only things in it were a few celery slices and fewer carrots. Meal came. Had lettuce with around slice of tomato. Had french fries a bit different than ordinary, but good. Had white rice, delicious. Also had the fish or shrimp. Three little tiny tubs of tarter sauce, and a container of ketchup. Had to wait a while until waitress finally saw me beckoning her, to ask her for silverware. A fork came wrapped in a paper napkin. Where was the knife? Well, maybe we wouldn’t need it. We ended up needing the knife. French fries tasty. Rice perfect. Salad had a slice of tomato. No dressing. Had to ask for dressing twice, and they only had Ranch. Fish very skinny, about 1/3″ wide, with breading on it. It tasted like metal to me. Occasionally fish tastes metally to me, perhaps because I have metal crowns? Whatever, it doesn’t taste good that way. Shrimp was skinnier, breaded. I wouldn’t eat more than two bites. My friend didn’t have the metal taste, and she was happy with my breaded shrimp. After finally getting fork and more tartar sauce, and my friend finally getting her lemonade, we had most everything we needed. My friend took leftovers home. Fried fish plate with soup, salad, fries, rice, cost about $ 8. At end of meal, cashier asked about how we felt about meal. I told her partner, who translated into Spanish. No discount, no apologies. If you want EXCELLENT service, and more delicious food than you could ever imagine, and marisco soup with chunks of fish in it, go to Mariscos in Weslaco, on Republic or Pike street. It’s my favorite restaurant in the entire or RGV. I would never go to Muelle 37 again. Even if it was free.
