This space has been home to galleries for as long as I can remember, first Adamé, then Albany Art Gallery and now Abrams Claghorn. I stopped here a few months ago to check it out after a few months of intending to do so. They were setting up for a new show, so half the gallery was unavailable, but the half that was held beautiful jewelry and wooden bowls and other functional and decorative objects of wood, ceramic pieces and art glass. I was disappointed that they didn’t carry fiber art, as I had found a wonderful scarf when it was Albany Art Gallery, but particularly liked the jewelry as well as several of the wooden items. One specific piece of art glass caught my eye as a wedding gift for friends who planned to be married in the future. When they married I returned to the gallery to look for that piece. It wasn’t immediately visible so I asked about it. The woman working there brought out two pieces that fit my description and there it was! I bought it, she wrapped it in bubble wrap to protect it and a while later I boxed it up and mailed it to our friends, who loved it. I always enjoy spending time in galleries that are well curated and this one is. There were other things, jewelry in particular, I could have happily brought home, but I resisted. The people who work here have been friendly and helpful and it will be one of the places I go when I’m in the market for a gift.

This is an awesome gallery full of mostly local art. I shop here for holiday and birthday gifts that are hand made. Excellent customer service. They even contacted a ceramicist for me to ask for additional pieces if they were available.
