Capital Buffet

Mediocre in a decent way. Enjoyable if you know and accept the limitations of buffet food as being mostly something fried & served in a heavy sauce. They have a large selection & you’ll probably find something you like. Price is decent, though I’d avoid going on weekends when the prices go up without any additions to the menu to justify this.

About a year or so ago, I recommend this place, for the good sushi. However in the last year, I’ve noticed a few things that weren’t up to code, and called them out in it. Example: the woman used a rag to wipe down the buffet, and actually used that rag to clean a serving utensil. I ran up, called the manager and made them replace the serving spoons. She said, «the woman was new». After a few months I went back. Food was cold, and not as fresh. I noticed a decline. Well, tonight after a long flight we ended up going. This will be my last time going. Arrived at 10:00. I asked what time they close. She said 11. Well as we got up to make our dishes, they started to take things away. By the time we made our dishes, half the bar was gone. Went up again to try to get things for everyone but slim picking. At 10:30 every thing was just about gone. I figured, let’s get our ice cream and go. Nope, that was being cleaned. As we were leaving, they already mopped the floor. Talk about wet floors. They are so lucky no one fell. Sayonara! Not coming back! Three strikes, your out !

First and last time I’ll be going here. Food was less than mediocre and less than luke warm. I hope my upset stomach settles soon. The only upside was they had a wide variety for a reasonable price, but I would have enjoyed fast food a whole lot better.

The outer exterior has as much flair and flavor as the food… none. The buffet has a vast selection but nothing I had was good. Green beans and the chicken and broccoli were bland. The «boneless» spare ribs were basically bones with red food coloring. They had pizza at a Chinese buffet so that was a little confusing. It’s very cheap for an all you can eat buffet so that about the only positive. For dessert there was pudding (worst pudding I have ever had) and some cookies and brownies that were cosmic brownies that you can buy at any grocery store. The cashier girl was kind of hot so there was a little eye candy. I will never go back because it sucked, to perk it up they could give happy endings instead of fortune cookies at the end of your meal.

There must be a two drink maximum here. You will be begging for a refill from the aforementioned staff that avoids eye contact. Has happened more than once, so it’s not an isolated incident. Hardly a shy violet, I have brought it to the attention of management.
Not sure if I’ll return. Somewhat sad, as many of the items were quite good.

This is definitely one of the better Chinese buffets in the area. They had a large selection of foods to choose from and even a place where they would cook up meats and serve them over rice or lo mein. The bathrooms were super clean just like the rest of the restaurant. The only thing that irked me was the lack of service from the waiter. I had to grab two different waitress two times to get a refill. Dirty plates were picked up promptly by a busser. Over all, I would eat here again, I enjoyed the food.

again, a chinese buf that puts out all warm to cold food!!! maybe when dishes first arrive! all this hot food is warm! and cool by the time you serve yourself and make it back to your table! too bad…
baked salmon could be great if not so overcooked and sauced/​seasoned wrong! they need hot wings, cheese mussels, real egg rolls!
more choices of chnse veg bok choy, chns cab, etc! made fresh and v hot!

Dirty, bad service. Sushi guy even joked that I might have an issue with the food later. Which made me dump the plate of sushi I was planning to eat.

My family and I had late lunch/​early dinner here because we were in the area. We should have gone some place else. We ordered our drinks, got our food, and when we came back to the table, we found the tea mugs were really dirty! We had to use multiple napkins to wipe the mugs. I asked the waitress for hot water but didn’t bring me a mug. I went up to where the two waiter and waitress were huddled just chit-​chatting when the owner (I assume) came by to talk to them. I waited patiently until they were done but the owner turned to me, A CUSTOMER IN THEIR ESTABLISHMENT, and asked rudely «what do you want?!» I asked for an extra mug for the hot water since I didn’t have one and she shot back with a question, «WHY?!» I responded that I didn’t get a mug and she kept on asking if I wanted a regular water cup. I went to the table and held up a tea mug and she gave me the RUDEST look ever (almost an eye roll). I can’t believe this is how they treat their customers!!! When my cousin asked for more hot tea, the waitress walked away and «ugh» really loudly. UM OK. To top it off, the waitress doesn’t seem to pay attention as to who to give the check and receipt to. She kept trying to give it to another person when clearly the check belonged to our table.
This place may have a good deal on buffet, but their service is not amazing. The food is not even the best. They do have a large selection of items but many items looked questionable or were just sitting in their container of water. The other Asian lady who would refill the containers was also really rude and would stand awkwardly next to you, impatiently, that many times I would just avoid one side of the buffet counter until she was done.
I’m sure there are other buffet places in this town, so maybe spend more there.

I didn’t Like that place, I think it should be more cleaner than it was, plus there is nothing special to eat, I didn’t find anything what I would like it there, simple food as mash potatoes, simple-​very basic Sushy which had no taste. It was only one time when I went there and probably last time.

We’ve been here twice so far. We will not be going again. Here is why:
The staff is indifferent and make you wonder if you are eating free, naked, without shoes. No smiles and they avoid eye contact.
The waiter dropped a fortune cookie on the ground and I pointed it out to him. He said, ’ No problem and picked it up and put it back on our plate’ ! O_​O
The food was mostly cold. We went in the night both times. For the price, it’s a good spread of fruits, sea food and other dishes. Quality is meh.
There was one asian family at the table next to us that seemed to dominate the entire restaurant. They seemed like they were regulars at the restaurant., or may be they are family/​friends of the people who run the restaurant. The elders sat at one table and the kids were conveniently placed in another table, as if the parents didn’t want to deal with their kids. The kids who were sitting behind us were running loose shouting, blowing their noses out loud like trumpets and making a game out of the noises they can make, jumping on their seats and what not. We asked if we could move to a different table. The waiter asked if we needed our check ! She probably didn’t understand, at least I want to believe so. We moved to another table ourselves .
And to make it worse, I fell sick after eating here. I wonder if it is because the kids, after blowing their noses, were helping themselves from the buffet without adult supervision. Or the food itself. I’ll never know and we were grossed out enough, not to ever set foot there.

Decent buffet for $ 12/​person. The staff is very nice and is quick to clear your dishes. Standard sushi bar in the back, but what made the sushi excellent was the service. The sushi chef made a vegetarian roll for a young boy by request. Cute moment when the boy politely thanked the chef! Cold muscles by the salad bar was delicious. Baked tilapia and salmon was good. Chocolate/​vanilla ice cream was a good finish to the meal.

I love the Chinese buffet… My stomach on the other hand tells me differently… All depends on what time of the day you go… But a good selection and a reasonable price…

I have only tried the Capital Buffet once, but found it much better than Dragon buffet if only because the food was pretty warm. I can not believe the board of health isn’t monitoring these restaurants like in other areas of the country. The food here is just OK. Nothing wonderful. My other big complaint about these buffets is the lack of vegetables. The have broccoli and chicken, why not broccoli and some other Chinese veggies to counter all of the fried stuff.
And, what is the problem of getting refills on soda? The soda machines are cheap water and flavorings. Also, a somewhat cheery group of employees would be nice.
I gave this 3 stars, but will reconsider when I try this place again.

This is the best Asian buffet I have been to and continue to come back to, always consistent and delicious. We always go for the dinner, they have yummy baby clams, good sushi, and great roast beef, if you can’t find anything to eat here something must be wrong with you.
Edit: I’ve noticed everytime I pay with a credit card here my info gets stolen, if this happens more often (twice already) I will report to the BBB.

I like a good buffet from time to time but this wasn’t it. This was my first and last time here. Ok on the positive side, it was clean and the staff were very attentive and friendly.
The food: overly dried chicken, other items like the green beans were rubbery and seemed like they had been sitting under the hot lamps for many, many hours, I started to eat a tomato which disintegrated into my mouth like mush as it has gone bad (I am thankful they had extra napkins). Much of the food was also cold. $ 7.49 for the buffet is not a bad price but I would been better off if I stayed home.

CRAB LEG ISSUE:
The only problem was the crab leg bin. I was there for an hour and never saw them fill it up ever… just the same small tiny couple of end legs sitting there that no customer put on their plate because they were so small and they, like myself were waiting for a new batch to come to the bin… and meanwhile the owners know they could put fresh ones out but don’t since they think in their mind, «oh great, there’s a couple tiny legs in there, these are expensive so that’ll be our excuse to not refill it since we’re not technically 100% out.»

I was feeling adventurous and decided to take my chances with E. coli and gastroenteritis. Therefore, I drove over to the local Chinese buffet.
The place is very neat clean, spacious and accommodating. There is also a cute mini pond in the middle with fish swimming around. The staff was also attentive, polite, and helpful.
I was very please with the selection. All my favorite dishes, and then some were available. The dishes which I had previously enjoyed were very much too my liking while there were other things which I didn’t like at all. Nonetheless with that much selection it is inevitable that there will be a bunch of things I don’t like.
Overall I’d highly recommend this place for when you are craving Chinese take out quality food, but can’t commit to any particular dish and want everything.

Wow, the best Chinese buffet! Lots of meat with decent price. I was sad because East Jade Buffet moved away, but now I found a even better one ;)

Decent buffet, it has one of the better sushi stations than other buffets in the area. Also the hibachi/​mongolian bbq section is very nice. you can make a nice stir fry with the selection of meats, veggies and sauces available.
I usually just go to a Chinese buffet for the sushi and hibachi. I’m not really interested in the other food that is offered. I found the price is reasonable and the service so-​so.
