I really like Kohl’s… Great sales, great mens department, great kids department. Senior day I think on Tuesday 15% off.

Kohls is my stop for top line dress clothes at a cheap price. Same brands you can find at Macy’s at such a better deal. Speaking of deals, you can get decent deals in all departments no matter if it’s women to men’s clothing. Even the bedding and kitchen area has amazing prices. Kohls seems to be fairly staff so waiting to be check out isn’t a big issue even during the Holiday rush. Only flaw is how constant the deals change day by day, make sure to double check the dates on sales before adventuring out.

The store is quite a mess compared to the kingston store. Items were jammed on racks making it hard to find items of interest. Tons of stuff in the aisles making it hard to walk. They really need to better organize this store.

Service was kind of spotty. They have a pretty decent amount of Mens suit attire and nice home goods. Their signs of prices are pretty dull so you kind of have to really look for them.

I am not a fan of the Kohl’s concept, which is to require the consumer to put on layers and layers of coupons and discounts in order to get their prices down to their competition. I once did a comparison shop of five identical — I mean, identical — items from Kohl’s and Target and found that with all the discounts applied, the net price to the consumer was within a penny(a penny!) on four of the five items and within 20 cents on the fifth. The difference is the price is listed on the Target items, and you have to jump through lots of hoops at Kohl’s to get the good price. At the cost of your time. They obviously do this because of the psychological trickery of the perceived«bargain» or «sale». This particular Kohl’s has the utterly standard Kohl’s layout and has better clothing stock than your typical Target and a lot of randomized other minor items in their other«departments». I tend to come back only because if you want particular newer kids clothes, there aren’t a huge number of options for quick retail shopping, and oddly enough they seem to occasionally have incredible bargains on shoes — inconsistently, but often enough to tease me in. This location has the virtue of being in a little strip you can access from either Central, New Karner, or Albany street but that is not blocked in by traffic, so in terms of convenience it’s a modest improvement as far as parking and schlepping. Not to say it’s much of a destination store but the convenience will probably lure me back, if I can remember my nineteen different coupons or «sale» windows properly.
