Teds is amazing! There is a reason they have been operating well for the past 60 years. Great costumer service and the food NEVER disappoints. Best fish fry in the capital region

Went here for the first time today. It was excellent. I had the fish fry, it was so delicious and fresh and NOT greasy. I look forward to going back again :)

The service is a little slow, but an all around great Ted’s. Everything is made to order, but they are very simple things. And it doesn’t have quite the charm of the other locations. Outdoor seating is really nice though. Friendly service. Fish tacos: Amazing! They always taste super fresh and have the perfect amount of spice. Loaded dogs: Pretty standard mini-dogs with meat sauce. Tasty. Cheese fries: Some might think there’s too much cheese but I don’t think that’s actually possible. Burgers: Cooked perfectly and the toppings taste fresh and delicious.

Best fish fry in town! Can’t beat the amount of food you get for the great price. Keeps me coming back!

Delicious! Classic fried fish on a steamed bun with their signature chili condiment sauce! Fries were crispy and fluffy at the same time and the Manhattan clam chowder was flavorful and tangy. Cute décor with waffled aluminum siding and buckets turned light fixtures. Staff was friendly and efficient.

This is a solid Ted’s. No, it doesn’t have the charm of the classic old school locations. But that’s okay. It’s mighty convenient to the northway. Sure, it’s on Wolf Road, but it’s just a hop, skip, and a jump from Exit 4. So don’t let prejudice about the location drive you away. The thing to get here is still the classic fish fry. It’s a regional staple. And if you’ve never had it before, you’ve got to try it at least once. Like at all Ted’s, they’ll sauce ‘em up for you behind the counter. I take mine with cocktail. I’ve never gotten into the«chili sauce» which seems to be ketchup mixed with relish, but I will sometimes indulge in a bit of tartar sauce. Ted’s onion rings are super. One fish fry and a small onion rings is more food than I need. It’s best to find someone to share the«vegetable» component of the meal. But even if you can’t, you should order them anyway. Life is short. Who has time for regrets?

Very much like a classic, local, fast food-style place. You order at the counter, wait for your number to be called, and bring your cafeteria tray with all the fried food back to the counter. The long fish fry in a hotdog bun is such a weird concept to me. Why? Where did this all begin, Albany? It’s a classic Capital Region food so I must try it. I tossed on some tartar sauce and dove right in. The batter is light and crispy, well seasoned(meaning salty, yum!) and I liked the tartar sauce best with the fish. A tangy complement to the light fish. I also went for the cheese fries. Cheddar-y sauce is amazeballs(probably not even close to real cheese), but reminds me of Buffo’s cheese fries from my childhood. So yes. I love them and will indulge. When you’re looking for some fried food on the quick, Ted’s is the way to go. And from what I hear, among the best for the classic fish fry.

Finally got a chance to try this location out after only getting my fish fry from Bob and Ron’s. The inside is a bit cramped and small, and I’m not crazy about the ordering situation. When it gets busy, I can’t see how the one guy taking the orders could possibly remember everything. The area where you order is kind of small and cramped. They also have Pepsi products not Coke :-(but onto the food… The fish fry was pretty average, but enjoyable. I wish they would give two hot dog buns instead of one because the fish fry was so long and really could’ve used the support of an extra bun for the long edges. The fries were average as well, nothing special there. I was kind of turned off by their addition of cheese on the fish fry and fries, as it’s just a piece of square cheese thrown on top. On a foot long fish fry, that’s not an even distribution. I wish I had ordered the onion rings because they looked good, and were a pretty big portion. I enjoyed my fish fry, but I think I may stick to Bob and Ron’s.

Yet another family tradition!!! Growing up Catholic it was a Friday tradition to get piping hot fish fries with the stellar unsalted french fries covered in ketchup. I mean it every Friday. We would happily anticipate that brown bag!!! They have a versatile menu… Big Ted’s Seafood Combo really gives you a taste of everything! Always fresh and delicious!!! Don’t forget to try their onion rings crispy flavorful goodness. This place is a capital district institution. Its my fish spot… i am a die hard Ted’s fan and i have jad fish fry all over the globe but the one here cannot be matched!!! Come one come all to the beat Fish fry in the world in my opinion! Got picky kids… they’ll eat it too trust me!!!

I was in the mood for fried fish and this was right across the street from my hotel. I ordered fried fish sandwich. It came on a hot dog bun. All I can say is it was very strange looking. It was hot and tasty though. I should have ordered fries, because it just wasn’t enough to fill me up.

Fish fry, fish tacos, crab cakes and cole slaw were all fire. Only thing I’d improve is come instead of Pepsi but can’t be choosers lol

On a slow Sunday night I flew into Albany for Monday am meetings. This is the closest non chain to the Marriott in Albany on wolf rd. The kids working that night were«phoning it in». Not a lot of heavy lifting that night. It was average hole in the wall fish & chips. Quantity was excessive and I would have liked a bit more quality. Very family friendly kinda run down feel. Not scary and better than fast food chain like Olive Garden. Reasonable prices and plenty of parking. The kids working were friendly and mean well they are just missing any snap or sharpness in a more competitive or quality food service operation.

Everybody said to try Ted’s…The Fish n Chips were average at best and didn’t have much flavor… The mini hotdog was awesome and the cole slaw was good… If I ever go back it would be for the mini hotdogs which seems odd since its a fish place. Staff was friendly I guess and the place had some empty dirty tables

Ted’s Fish Fry is engrained in the culture of Albany life, it’s definitely a staple. I grew up in the area and have been going to Ted’s for years. Literally 16+. I make a point to go every time I’m in Albany. It’s great. Nothing fancy, no frills at its best, just really great seafood. The fried clams, oysters, fish fry, everything is amazing. It’s absolutely delicious.

Fried oysters were excellent. Clam chowder was very good. Buffalo calamari was good. Fried clam strips were OK. I’d go back for the oysters and try the fried scallops next time.

Forget the fish, try the cheese burgers. The fries are great too, but be aware that they don’t salt their fries and they’re a little pricey. All in all, great place

Their fish fries are fresh and very tasty, but their side orders could use some work. The fries, especially, I found to be undercooked. The onion rings were OK. Their milkshakes, on the other hand, are excellent! Nice and thick and they don’t skimp on the ice cream! The service and speed were good and the dining room is cozy. I’d probably go back.

Summary– Decent Fish Fry with quick service and clean & convenient location. Food– 3 Stars Fish fries are good although a bit skinny for my taste. The breading is thinner, which I like. Fries were just OK, onion rings weren’t the greatest. Service– 5 Stars Friendly and fast. Atmosphere– 3 Stars Typical take out place, clean inside with decent seating and outside seating as well. Value– 3 Stars About where it should be, although as mentioned I like a thicker fish fry for my $.

This is the newest location of the ever classic fish fry joint. Same great fish frys although this location has one noticeable difference than the others; Its Modern! I’m not sure when the others were built but they have been around as long as I can remember and I don’t think they have updated the décor in any of them since they were opened. But that is also part of the charm. The one thing that really matters is the food. Hugh pieces of freshly battered and fried fish, homemade onion rings, cheese fries, and the unexpected favorite; the cheeseburger. Don’t forget to wash it all down with a hawaiian punch, lemonade or milkshake.
