Pricy and time consuming, but for a fun experience and pretty good food, worth a visit at least

It’s fun for the experience but definitely only go if you can find a coupon or deal. I subscribe to their email list and get updates with deals that are typically around $ 35 for the full experience and a glass of wine or a cocktail from a limited menu. If you go without knowing about a deal, the meal feels overpriced for what you get. Service is notoriously slow. Experience will take over 2 hours in most cases. You can ask for more of the general dippers if needed — bread, veggies, or apples during the cheese course. Veggies that come out in bowls during the main course. Extra desserts in the dessert course. Don’t feel shy if there’s cheese left or you really wanted more broccoli instead of so much celery. They will accommodate. I will be back, but my expectations are set at a 3 star experience and for that, The Melting Pot delivers.

In all the years that the Melting Pot has been located here, I never cared to go. Mostly because the idea of going out to dinner and having to cook my own food at a hefty price tag never appealed to me. That thought remains after my first experience dining here. I think it’s one of those places that you either love or hate, there’s really no in between. I went with a group of co-workers for their Thursday night ‘Ladies Night’, which consists of getting cheese and chocolate fondues, and one drink for $ 25 a piece. Considering the prices of the 4 course meals, and regular dinners, that probably seems like a great deal. I walked in the restaurant from the mall entrance, and was confused on the layout, there were no employees to be found, and we had to walk through the maze of secluded seats to get to the outdoor entrance where the hostess stand was located. We were seated promptly, and the hostess was friendly, although she had to get clarification probably 3 times on some of our questions. Our server was friendly as well, but insisted on trying to upsell us with entrees and salads even though we said multiple times we were only there for the ladies night special. Onto the food: we ordered two different types of cheese fondue, the cheddar, and the quattro formaggio. Both cheeses tasted great, but sadly the dippers they provided were not good at all. They provided two tiny containers of veggies/fruit(carrots, celery, broccoli, and one of apples), and two smaller bowls with slices of bread. I was expecting large plates of assorted fresh veggies, so was somewhat disappointed there. Also, the bread they provided was stale, and the only way it tasted good was to completely cover it in the cheese they provided. Again, I was thinking we would get some pretzel’s(preferably deep fried, a-la Druther’s) but sadly that wasn’t the case. Onto the chocolate, we ordered the molten cake, and the caramel nut, both, again tasted good. Again, the presentation of the dippers could be better. Overall, I think this is a cool concept and something different to try with a group of friends if you are looking to be out for a few hours. Or, even for date night since their seating is very private and intimate. It definitely seems like it’s more for the experience rather than the food itself. Now that I’ve gone once, I don’t see myself returning, but it inspired me to want to possibly try to re-create the concept at home… much cheaper that way!

The Melting Pot is my daughter’s favorite place, so I have to admit I have been here many more times than I would like. To me, it is an «experience,» rather than a meal. By this I mean that you are paying for the experience of cooking the food in a leisurely fashion, rather than for the meal itself. I really dislike this model, as I prefer to receive an expertly prepared plate of food when I go out to dinner. The food is the star for me. At the Melting Pot you really don’t get very much food, it is cooked in broth a couple of pieces at a time, and the flavors are not that interesting or special. I have to admit that I don’t find it appetizing to receive a plate of raw shrimp and meat, only to have to worry about whether I have cooked the chicken or pork long enough. On our most recent visit, there were some fruit flies buzzing around the food and the entire bathroom floor was sticky. Yuk! A four course meal for two people, with no alcoholic beverages, costs about $ 100, which I find too high for the quality of the food and cleanliness of the restaurant. I do not recommend the Melting Pot.

I was here last night with my family and had a great relaxing experience. You do not come here if you are in a rush. A typical four course meal will take about 2 hours to complete. The environment is quiet and intimate, the service is good, the bar menu is very good. They offer a wide range of entrée choices or if you prefer you can pick your own.

The food and environment is some of the best we’ve had in a long time! However, while the customer service is great, they are pretty slow. Stayed in here for about three hours all together. Also a bit in the pricey side, but well worth it if you have money and can be patient with them! Highly recommend this place to anyone! Get the desert, it is to die for!!!

My boyfriend I have learned that fondue is basically an expensive, Anglo-Saxon version of Hot Pot. We came here on a a Groupon, a $ 30 for $ 50, and even with that discount it was far too expensive for the experience. We were seated in this very secluded corner, which was private but the design of the table was such that we kept reaching over our food in order to check on the pot. We got the Prosicutto and Asparagus fondue to start, and that was the biggest mistake. We’d just come from the pet store so we thought maybe it was us, but unfortunately it was the fondue that smelled of wet dog. It’s incredible how exact the smell was. Although our waiter told us there was nothing we could do, nothing we could dilute it with, and that we should have ordered another fondue instead(which made us so uncomfortable and displeased with the service we were going to get another waiter), he eventually changed it to the Cheddar fondue, which was much better. However, the fondue is literally like $ 10 for a handful of cheese and other ingredients. The waiter checked up on us frequently, but sometimes so frequently that it was awkward because he’d just be gone for a minute and then come back. We also thought the service could have been more friendly and enthusiastic, and less uncomfortable. The owner was nice enough though to drop by twice to check up on us. We then got the fondue by you, and added an entrée. The salad, although not bad, is literally a handful of salad on a small plate. The entrees are all raw meats, which is quite expensive considering you’re getting a small plateful of raw meat for at least $ 20. The dessert wasn’t bad, but it is small and again is literally melted chocolate that you dip small piece of marshmallow or fruit in. Pros: it’s an experience Cons: expensive, not a lot of food for the price(try it at home for a fraction of the price), difficult pot positioning, weird at first service that gradually got better. Wouldn’t recommend.

This location offers great service and the experience is lovely. Lots of cheese fondue. My favorite option is the four course vegetarian which comes with a cheese for starter(my favorite is the fiesta), a salad(the house salad with the sweet house dressing is delicious), an entrée, and chocolate fondue. Make sure to sign up for Club Fondue! They sometimes have special events and often have little perks to offer. It’s totally free to sign up.

We have been here couple of times over the passed few years. The food experience was wonderfully enjoyable. Not cheap but well worth it! Lovely staff and quaint enclaves.

The food is good, but the service is really slow. All tables are secluded to offer a quieter, more intimate dining experience — which is nice until they forget you’re there! I’m giving it three stars because we’ve had slow service every time we’ve been there. We had to keep asking for glasses of water that never showed up :/ On the bright side — The melting pot is a fun place to go with friends for a special event, because the fondue style dining experience is different than most other restaurants. Will the menu is laid out well, I wish they would do a better job of explaining what pairing options you could do. For example the one that gets pushed most often is the four course meal, a cheese fondue a salad, a meat course, and a dessert. But that’s a ton of food. It would be nice if they could explain that doing a cheese course, with chocolate is always a good option. Would be a great place for a girls night out, date night, or catching up with friends.

Great food. But what really made the meal was the phenomenal service. We we’re treated better than any restaurant we have been to in over a year. Laurel was tremendous.

I only gave 3 stars not because it wasn’t good but because it’s confusing, expensive and not for me. Food was ok but I was so stressed out about cooking and timing my own food. It was over priced too. The ala carte menu did not come w enough veggies. The wine, beer selections and cocktails were wide and priced great! I probably won’t return unless it’s for cocktails & dessert only. This is just my opinion.

I absolutely love the Melting Pot. I’ve been to this particular location at least half a dozen times, and every experience has been an overwhelmingly positive one. Last night was no different! My husband and I tried their«Romantic French Getaway» promotion, a $ 50 offer(per couple) that included the choice of any cheese fondue, entrees of shrimp, sirloin, and chicken coated with herbs de provence, and finally 6 chocolate dipped strawberries. All was delicious. I absolutely love all the different sauces that come with the entrée, and all the vegetables that come on the side(unlimited!) The server was friendly and the pace was just right. If I’m going to be spending a lot of money, I don’t want to be hurried through the meal! I like to sip from my glass of wine, dip into the fondue pot piece-by-piece, and chat with my husband. It’s so relaxing, and is really a treat. I can’t wait to come back!

My date and I arrived at 8pm for our reservation. We waited 10 mins before the hostess greeted us. Granted we did come in the back entrance closes to the mall. We saw no problem with it and we understood we should have gone in the front door. We were then seated and told our waitress would be right with us. We then waited 15 mins before our drink order was taken and then waited another 20 mins until our very berry lemonade and water were served. Not too difficult of an order. The menu is a bit confusing at first but once you look it over it is easy to understand. Cheese took another 30 mins to come out. Which was made right infront of us. Doesn’t make sense to take so long to set up. in all it took 2 and a half hours to have dinner.

First, this is a chain restaurant, not a bad thing, but not a good thing either. Second, it’s an experience as much as a meal, and that’s a good thing! The service was wonderful, once our party was seated, but the hostess was MIA for about 5 minutes when we walked in, as was the bartender and any other staff. Food was ok. The spinach and cheeses appetizer fondue was excellent, but my main dishes were just ok. I sampled the duck, shrimp and beef. Nothing special and all needed the«special» sauce of some kind. Dessert was good, it’s hard for a chocolate fondue to be bad. Overall a fun experience but not worth the cost. Without alcohol for 2 people it was $ 80 before a tip. If I were to go again, I would go with the cheese fondue and straight to dessert. I want to mention again that our server Cory was incredible.

The service was crazy slow, and our main waiter was RUDE. He had an awful attitude from the moment we sat down, and didn’t explain anything even though we told him we’d never been to the restaurant before. Instead, he gave us incredulous looks as we ordered and was super snooty when we asked questions. Totally wish I could give zero stars.

This is for a special evening not a quick bite out. Each of the four of us ordered a different entrée and so we could sample others all. They were all good! Private booths, great dessert finches. We loved it!

Be prepared to spend some time because this isn’t a short experience. We went with the 4-course meals and it was all excellent. The waiter was great at answering questions too.

So far so disgusting. Dining experience is unique and stupid. Wait staff is informative, assertive, and sickly. Drinks are pricey yet yummy. The four course selection is simple yet abundantly diverse and buffet-like. I can’t say enough of how displeased we were with our experience here. Definitely surprised after reading positive reviews. I haven’t anything positive to say. While we don’t eat tortured and bled fellow inhabitants, and the vegetarian menu is very limited, we were pleasantly disgusted
