Horrifying customer service for very mediocre food.
I usually order this when I’m not in the mood to go out for dinner. Today, I ordered because of the heavy rain outside. When I was notified by Eat24 that the order would take longer than usual, I immediately called to cancel my order since the wait for over an hour. I was told, 5 minutes after I placed my order, that the food was already made so I could not cancel. Not only is this hard to believe, the lady on the phone was incredibly mean. She told me to «consider the weather» and did not wait for me to reply before she angrily hung up the phone, without confirming whether she had canceled my order or not. Needless to say, I will not be ordering from this place again.

Grabbed a to go meal for dinner last night. I was really impressed. Every dish flavorful, ingredients fresh, and a good price. Started with the Hot & Sour soup. Can easily be bland, but this was rich with flavor, had some heat, some sour, but really good flavor. Also had the General Tso’s chicken. Again, good tasting chicken, very flavorful, just right amount crispness to tenderness. Lastly, the beef with sweet basil. Again, all the above. The mango smoothy I ordered while waiting for order. Also so good! When a small restaurant can get me 4 orders, and all of them hitting it out of the park, have to give them all stars. Oh, and nice staff too.

They’re good AND they deliver?! I’ll take it :) Chow mein, fried rice and salt and pepper shrimp are sooo good.

Originally I have this place 5 stars! Food is amazing, always fresh, tasty, and done fast. Not expensive at all. BUT the customer service is not good. It’s like you bother them once your there. How do you enjoy lunch when you can’t even get the proper service? Other than the customer service everything else is perfect!

Dependable, inexpensive Chinese food. Great lunch bargains. And they make Tapioca ball shakes too! Not my top pick, but in a pinch or in a rush, I know I can depend on Pearl House!

Not the best quality food I’ve ever had, but it gets the job done. My least favorite dish was probably the General Tso’s chicken, which was quite chewy. The house specialties have been better quality in my experience. The sauces are good and flavorful, but just shy of being great. Best thing I’ve ordered so far are the pot stickers, which have a very thick and soft dough that I really enjoyed. I’ve only ever had delivery, which is typically pretty quick.

Ok ok ok so I’m not trying to be «that guy» but I have to say my piece about this place. My friends and I came here for a quick meal but ended up getting treated very rudely by the waiter. They brought the food out late, the water out late, the rice out late and did I mention that the service sucked?! But the real kicker was when we were paying. As I reached into my pocket to get some loose bills to pay the tip the waiter, in the fastest service he provided the entire evening, asked me in the rudest tone I’ve heard from a waiter, «you’re not going to leave a tip!?» loudly and in front of other restaurant goers. I was needlessly embarrassed. Completely unacceptable. Zuus.

One of the few places that delivers to the richmond Marina. My delivery took about one hour and fifteen minutes — the food — so so. The onion pancake was good the shrimp in lobster sauce was not. The Mongolian beef had good spice and the chicken in black bean just ok. The sautéed spinach had to much liquid. May try it again and try what others suggest

The food was delicious. But 20 minutes later I was so sick. My coworker who ate the same meal was also very ill. This happened to me the last time i ordered too. Will not be ordering again unfortunately.

This place is so Un-​Albany, I almost couldn’t believe it. Last night, I walk in 15 to closing… No greeting, and just after opening the menu, the guy tells me that they are closing soon and I have to hurry up and order. Rather than suffer a complete a lack of appreciation for my patronage, I should have walked out. The tension was so high, I kept looking over to make sure the guys in the back weren’t going to spit in my food. There were six people staffing the restaurant. Two did look busy, but 2 were chowing down. It wasn’t like they were closing down and headed for a soirée. When the guy handed me the food, he didn’t even say thank you. My husband liked the fried calamari, and the wonton soup was good. I honestly think it’s because MSG makes food yummy. I am not a glutton for punishment and I truly believe sheer discourtesy goes against the Albany grain. I will never be back no matter how desperate I am for a pearl drink. In my opinion, they should get a badge of shame. If they do change… they should advertise…“Changed

Ordered food at 1:00 PM. Estimated delivery was 2:00 PM.
Received my food at 2:55 PM after calling twice asking what was up — manager had no idea. Delivery driver apologizing for it being late, saying it was his fault, etc…
Called back and told them my food was cold and told him I didn’t want to pay for this. I said he could give me a refund if I returned the food or to go fuck myself.
He screamed and yelled «FUCK YOU FUCK YOU MAN» over and over incredibly angry.
I can’t believe a manager of a restaurant is screaming and cursing at a customer after completing messing up an order.
You know what? Manager could’ve taken a bad experience and made a good one but instead exploded and created bad press and bad reputation for his already failing restaurant.
Avoid this place.

We ordered delivery here as they’re one of the «brave» restaurants who will deliver to the Richmond annex: P We had: pork potstickers which were perfectly crispy on the outside and excellent with chilli oil. I also like that they give you two packets– love my chilli oil! The vegetable chow mein was good and get this– it had vegetables! A lot of other places I’ve ordered from just have celery and onion as their vegetables but this place has snow peas and zucchini as well– noms! Lastly our final dish is some sort of chicken– I was feeling naughty so it was salt and pepper chicken and it did not disappoint. Even today it tasted good– and sometimes those things can get funky when they sit overnight. Overall great flavor and not loaded with salt/​sugar.
The one small thing I would warn people against is that delivery took and hour and fifteen to arrive on a Thursday night– so plan ahead! Pretty sure this will be our go-​to place to order from.

Our go-​to boba place and Chinese delivery. Piping hot, delicious, ample portions, reasonable delivery time. Solid menu, love our favorite kung pao!

So I’m updating this. Everything I have ordered or eaten in the past year has been, if not excellent, at least tasty and well-​prepared. They seem to have upgraded their standards. In fact, they are now my go-​to place for Hot and Sour Soup — it’s the best I’ve found in my area. So yes, I can change my mind if the difference is significant and Pearl House has made a noteable improvement. It’s still not where I take my out of town dinner guests or where I go to get authentic Chinese food, but for hot, tasty and not-​too-​greasy takeout, it’s quite acceptably and occasionally very good!

Love this place. I order catering for my work at least once a year. Feed 30 people for less than $ 10 each, I’m down with that. Also order lunch delivery occasionally for myself. Minimum $ 15 purchase before tax is reasonable and leaves me with enough food for lunch the next day. Efficient online ordering and always get my order correct. Pearl House is the best in the area.

Had a few friends over for dinner and didn’t feel like cooking. Ordering Chinese food can be precarious at best (I’ve found at times), so much so, I haven’t done it in ages. However, I decided to take the plunge on this occasion. Not only was I not disappointed, I was surprisingly, and happily delighted with the fare received from the Pearl House, as were my guests. Everything was very flavorful, fresh, crisp (when supposed to be) and just really delicious. We had the spring rolls, green beans (OMG, so good!!!), lemon chicken, chow mien and beef and broccoli. (Silly me, I forgot to order rice.) Seriously, everyone was so pleasantly surprised at how good this food was. I feel my faith somewhat restored in Chinese food (well this place at least). Thank you Pearl House! Your good food made me look good!!! :) AND, the food was delivered far faster than I dared hope. Good times!

I’ve been ordering delivery for the past few years from Pearl Harbor through Grubhub. If you’re in the area, you know there are plenty Chinese restaurants, but limited options. I don’t have high expectations for a Chinese restaurant in this area, especially with delivery, so if you take it for what it’s for, you’ll be fine.
It’s sometimes hit or miss on certain dishes, and occasionally I do get a bellyache, but if you find something you like, keep ordering it. The drinks are okay, but don’t order anything too unusual (slushies) — stick with the staples (milk tea) and keep the bellyaches away.
Their delivery is generally pretty stellar. Tip them extra when it’s rainy. :)
For dinner:
* Singapore Rice Noodles: Delicious and full of goodies. Get this.
* Fried String Bean with Chili Sauce: With or without chicken. Standard and tasty.
* General Tso’s Chicken: I generally don’t like to order fried, saucy items, as they can be soggy and icky, but they do this one pretty well.
* Spring Rolls: Standard and crispy. Comes with sweet and sour sauce.
For lunch:
They have a great value lunch menu. You pick an entrée and it comes with rice or fried rice for an extra dollar.
* Salt and Pepper Porkchops: Great! I love getting this for lunch.
* Eggplant and Shrimp: Tasty. :)
* Chicken with String Bean: You can ask for them to add chili sauce. Yummy.

By Far the best Chinese Place Out there!
My husband and I order from Pearl house a few times a month, we love it the food is super delicious and cheap. My favorite is the Kung Pao Tofu Delivery is about 45 minutes wait (keep in mind), the food always arrives hot/​warm. We order lunch specials, we find that during dinner time the food is a not as good for some reason. I have dinned in a couple of times service is good, food it still magnificent. Pick up is good also, reasonable time. Also found that the younger men tend to be nicer than the older lady. Highly recommend!
