Green Mill

Just passing by and wanted to try something different. Very nice looking place inside. Easy parking, nice booth to sit in and service very friendly and willing to work with our special order of 2 soups and burger, no fries. I tried the French onion soup of the day, and the avacodo ranch burger. I have to give Green Mill some credit here the soups were full of flavor and good as was the ranch avacodo burger, When I slowed down I really tasted all the different flavors I was very happy that I did. I would stop back to try some beers on tap I would stay longer if time permitted.

Interstate friendly location.
Not a chain I have seen before but had an familiar feel to a bigger chain.
Choice of bar side or restaurant side. Music was up loud enough to notice.
Early lunch crowd on a Sunday.
Macy our server was fast and good.
We both tried soup off the day. Potato bacon and a French onion. Both good.
We shared the avocado ranch burger. Yum. Nice kick to the sauce.
Nothing to amazing out of the ordinary and prices were about 10 a person.
Located right next to a hotel for overnighters.

I enjoyed their pizza and wings very much. Although the service was decent. I overall had a decent experience here.

Stopped in tonight and had The Inferno Burger with fries, and a cup of French Onion soup. I’m not usually a chain restaurant type of guy, but I really enjoyed it. The Oatmeal Stout on tap was very nice.

The Green Mill was very close the the hotel that we stayed in so we though that we give it s try. Service was slow but friendly. We ordered a pizza that arrived under baked to the point that the crust was doughy the the veggies raw and barely warm. Sent it back to the kitchen and it was returned slightly warmer and still doughy. After the second time our server called the manager who was apologetic and offered to replace the pizza. Didn’t give them a third try and the manager took the everything off of the bill including drinks. The cook must have been having a bad day. Just passing through but wouldn’t stop there again with other choices near by.

In town for work & have tried this pizza before so came back for more. The pizza is legit, not the ‘best’ I’ve had according to ‘my’ taste buds, but the ingredients are fresh & the old world crust has some toppings rolled up on the crust, & I’m usually not a crust guy as I prefer thin crust, but the old world crust gets it done for sure. Main thing that sticks out to me about the pizza is the fresh cut ingredients, & the the taste is good. A little spendy at $ 18.99 for a medium… a couple bucks more for the large but the large is not much bigger, maybe a couple slices bigger. Worth trying & deciding for yourself. I have not tried anything else at the restaurant nor have I ate at the restaurant so have no feedback on the service. However the lovely ladies at the counter are always friendly & quick when I arrive to pick up my pizza.

Been here a few times when in town and sure enough the bartender I am used to seeing is gone! :(((obviously the management let her go … Dumbasses! Hence I walk in and am greeted by a less than professional bartender … That’s what you get these days when you walk into a corporate joint! UGH ! So I had a burger that came fast and was delicious! (at least the cooks are still happy here:)))) had a nicely watered down drink and my bartender Nicole and dined me for items on the menu… WTF! Anyway go thru your bill and be mindful that staff at these corporate joints is just plain not that good …

I had the opportunity to try the Green Mill in Albert Lea again on Father’s Day. They posted a Prime Rib special. I took a chance and ordered the Prime Rib.
It was great. The best prime rib I have ever had, in fact. The sides were excellent and the service was impeccable.
I could have done with a lot less TV sports, though.

I have been coming to this Green Mill location for years when I am in town. They just completely remodeled the bar area and it is awesome! They added what seems like 30 TVs. It is an excellent spot to watch a game or just grab a beer and some food. The food is always good. Their pizza is great as well. The wings are a sure bet as well. The service has always been fantastic! I will be back.

I was in town for business and had dinner here one night. The staff was very friendly and the food was solid. Everything was reasonably priced. For the area this is a top option!

We were staying at the hotel next door and as soon as we got out of the car we smelled the Green mill restaurant. Found their website online, ordering was super easy and order was ready in 20 minutes. Food was great and reasonably priced. Looking forward to eating here again.

Great place to stop on our long Christmas road trip. Great kids menu for our two year old. Had a delicious but spicy Thai Chicken Salad (not complaining, just stating a fact). Our service was great and we appreciated the fact that we could sit down and have a nice meal instead of running through the drive through.

My husband and I decided to eat there since our hotel was next door and we wanted something quick. We ended up waiting for over an hour for our food. We barely saw our waitress and only received some service when the manager stepped in. Beer was stale and the soup was a little cold. The main dish was good but not worth the extremely long wait especially for a tues night. Truly disappointing.

Everyone has a different experience at every restaurant; however, this time was less than extraordinary.
Most of the time we get our food on time, prepared correctly but today it took around an hour and a half to get our food out to us. In the middle of the waiting the manager came out and simply asked us if we wanted what we ordered or what the chef accidentally prepared. We told him we wanted what we ordered, he without saying any form of an apology, left and we knew it would take longer.
The pasta dish we ordered didn’t have any problems but the pasta dish came out even after the correction was made and the pizza was delivered to our table. It tasted as if it was under a heat light. (Which it had to have been).
We never got an apology for the wait or the incorrect order.
Side note, our waitress was fine, no problems.

Would recommend to any pizza lover, we had two great pizzas… Drinks & beer were great too!

Pizza was good, service was horrible. Took 1hr and 15 min to get food. They werent even busy. If I knew it would’ve taken this long I wouldve went elsewhere. On top of it all im pregnant and was very hungry. Would’ve ordered an appetizer but they were very over priced and didnt know it would take so long for food.

There aren’t a lot of great dining options in Albert Lea, but the Green Mill is among the better options. It’s been hit or miss with our visits there, about 60% hits. Last time out was a miss, though. Like several other reviews here it was slow to get our food. Janie was our server and was very friendly, but got the sense the kitchen couldn’t keep up or their staff is covering too many tables.
But the biggest gripe I have is the value for your dollar. Family of 5 had a $ 80 bill with a couple drinks and two kids meals. Stay away from the Three Cheese Nachos as they should have been called the Three Chip Nachos. For $ 9.99 I am expecting the typical heap of chips with toppings. This «platter» had about 12 oversized chips which our party of five cleaned out in about 2 minutes.
We will still come back on occasion, but only because there aren’t many family friendly options in Albert Lea that you can get a beer at. Need to fix the wait times and the value, proposition, not to mention the consistency.

We were stopping for the night after a long day on the road. This restaurant was near by. I will say that it beats fast food only because of the variety.
Pros: portions were large. Menu held a variety Pizza was really good. Wings were accurately spicy. Pasta portion was large
Cons: SLOW service. Hostess spent most of our meal bitching to a male employee about how at their last «meeting» they were told that bussing tables was not their job and that the servers were supposed to do it. (All while bussing tables). The prices seemed high for Applebee-​esque food. Thin crust pizza isn’t available in a small.
That all said the food definitely beats fast good and Applebee’s, just don’t expect personal, warm, quick service.

We always enjoy the food at the Green Mill. I am a bit disappointed that they no longer brew their own beer. And that they removed their healthy menu. We used to order their healthy chicken pizza. Please bring it back!

Our server was «Becky», who was previously mentioned on Unilocal for her positive service. I reiterate that service was fast and conscientious.
The food was delicious, I had a medium pizza and a sampling of Summit beers (being from out of state, it’s a local variety I had never before tried, but quite enjoyed). Everything was fast, hot, fresh and tasty. No complaints
The atmospherics were a little odd. I’ve spent quite a bit of time in places with high population densities … this tends to result in somewhat compacted seating and a moody sparsity of lighting in most bar-​supporting eating establishments. Not here. It was brightly and well lit, and there was a lot of space between tables and patrons. Whole gaggles of Waitstaff could maneuver between the tables without ever coming close to a patron. The space seemed a bit excessive to my sensibilities, but once I got into the food, beer and conversation I didn’t notice anymore.
