Bagels & Bialys

At times I stop and pick up a bagel or flat with cream cheese on my way to work. The bagels are consistent and so is the service. All to often, early morning, rushing to work I’ll come in (the only one there) and there are two women working/​chatting/​texting as if there’s not a care in the world or a customer at the counter. I wait patiently until I’ll final say «can somebody help me please» One of the two does, but not without an attitude or a look of inconvenience. Add insult to injury the price changes as well. Now mind you its only quarters difference but «come on» know your prices.
It’s hard to write about the bagels which happen to be good when the staff is so bad and disrespectful. I don’t believe those women own the place, maybe I’m wrong. If they don’t whoever is the owner your business would be better with better staff handling the customers. So why do I go there, you may ask, it’s on the way to where I have to go. I would not go out of my way no matter how good the bagels, lox, cream cheeses are, those ladies kill it. They used to have this wonderful elderly gentleman (and I mean gentleman) there but I haven’t seen him in a while I wish he was back he made the morning far more pleasant when I decided to stop on my way to work. I hope he’s OK. I am giving it two stars because the bagels are good. If the staff was nicer there would be more.

Bagels here are very good! I had bialys here for the first one and was blown away. Sure this place is a little rough around the edges but if you’re not a baby like the other guy who reviewed this place, they have the best bagels around!

Bagel Boss just up the block. This place is f@@@ing disgusting. Rudest mean people ever.

I like to give everyone a second chance, it’s only fair. Well, I went back to Bagels & Bialys this morning. Regrettably.
When I walked in the two counter staff were having their breakfast on the counter. They carried on their conversation while I was there and eventually came over to take my order. I got the distinct impression I was interrupting their meal and my presence was not welcome.
The bagels were pretty good this time, it’s just a shame you have to deal with the attitude of the counter staff. In this day and age where customer service can make or break a business I’m amazing places like this still exist.
No third chance from me, this place is not worth it.
