Kumon Math and Reading Center of Albertson

Kumon is a good learning environment for students who are gifted and would like to move up in their classroom. Kumon is NOT a program created for children who are struggling in the classroom and need tutoring. Kumon is based off of strict japanese teachings in which a student «learns better on their own», in which case there is zero instruction given to the students. I have overheard the female instructor aggressively shouting at the kids on many occasions from the waiting room. Learning comes from a warm environment which this is FAR FROM IT. Though the Junior kumon instructor seems great. The whole kumon program is a scam, you’re literally paying ($ 200 a month is it?) for your kids to sit in a room get handed worksheets, and given homework. When the students ask questions they get yelled and told to «figure it out on their own». Buy a workbook and save yourself the money and your child getting shouted at.
