Went here for breakfast. A lot of good food for a low price. Had 10 people at the table, food came out hot and all at the same time. Would go here again next time I am in Albia.

I don’t agree with the main Unilocal description of this place, it’s not a steakhouse, it’s a diner. Stools at a counter, pancakes on a massive griddle, pies in a chiller case, type diner. Also, the place is a bit cheaper than the average price listed here. We went for a late breakfast and it was good. Pretty standard stuff for a rural midwest diner. I had an omelette cooked well. It came with hash browns and a massive pancake about 12″ across. I think it was about 6 bucks. Service was friendly and frequent. They’ll chat you up if you’re friendly with them. Nothing was spectacular, just completely solid. If a foreigner asked me what America’s really like, I’d tell them to go to the Highway restaurant in Albia, IA.

The pork ribs were absolutely DISGUSTING! It tastes like they boiled the ribs & slabbed on some BBQ sauce. There was barely any meat, just fat! By far the worse ribs I have ever tasted in my entire life! On the bright side, the customer service was excellent & so was their navy bean soup.
